I'd even like to thank Statesman for his sense of humor and play. As demonstrated by posts like this one.

OK gang, we'll throw at least 2 of your wants into Issue 4.

Sometimes I want to strangle him while I thank him, mind you. Which 2? Which 2? (Let on be SSOCS, please!)

Stop saying SSOCS. It's not super-secret anymore. Call it the OCS or Skills.

Thank you developers for announcements.

Its the Super Hero Ocupational Education System (SHOES).

Oh, this will be a fun post!
Thanks for...
<ul type="square">[*]releasing "A Council of War" - and giving it a good testing first[*]the Epic ATs - especially the encouraged grouping (which benefits those of us before 50) and the cool look![*]Ancillary Power Pools - to let us round out our characters (more, more, we want even more!!)[*]Zone events - second best thing in this issue IMO! Especially like the ghost ship![*]New Zone: Striga Isle - Not just because it's mid-level content, but the storyline of the place is GREAT![*]"Giant Monsters, no matter what their level, will con Purple now. This is because the monsters are able to be fought by the entire level range of Heroes." - I can fight alongside a level 50 without being SKd, talk about feeling like a hero! You know, I don't know if this has been said before, but some recent complaints have brought this to mind:

Many thanks to all the constructive posters out there, those that help the community with guides, rational discussions, helpful posts, and the just funny ones. Kudos to the community, you are too numerous to name all of you, and it should be that way. If there were only a few names to point out, we'd be in sad shape.

9PM where I am and Statesman is responding to disgruntled Tankers trolling the controller changes thread.

The guy is being beat up eight ways from sunday on the boards and not only is he paying attention and responding, he's doing so with a tolerance people usually reserve only for their children.

Not to mention that it evidences that he's reading the feedback he asked for in the controller thread (he answered like 1 page later on a ~20 page thread).

Kudos for tolerance and a genuine interest in serving your customers, States.

I agree, a big round of applause for States and the Dev crew for having to put up with so much flak and abuse on the boards, and how well they handle it. They keep a great game running, continually adding FREE updated content, and have to deal with those that want to act like three year olds having a tantrum in the supermarket over a candy bar.

CoH is still a great game, I love most everything in Issue 3, and is one of the few games that has kept my interest beyond a few months. Hats off to States &amp; Co for putting together an awesome online game.

Thank you Devs! You have done a great job.

To put things in perspective; I play Tankers and Scrappers. I have a Regen Scrapper, a Super Strength/Stone Tanker, and an Invuln Scrapper. I was directly affected by many of the changes made in issue #3. *I LIKE THEM* (Though I haven't played Invuln high enough to really voice an opinion about the changes to invincibility) I think they are well thought out and have been tested.

Furthermore, I love Striga Isle! It's beautiful.

Statesman, Positron, Geko, Archon Voss, and the rest of the fabulous team of devs (forgive me for not mentioning each of you by name); in all sincerity, all of you have done a *great* job!

THIS IS WHY I PAY $15 A MONTH (and spend more time than I should playing this game).

Now, back to the game and my "Rugged" scrapper

Thank you Devs for making the game thrilling again!!
I logged in assuming the "lengthed maint window was for I3.

* Boy the citizens walking around Ms Liberty are awfully chatty today!
* Who's that flashy new guy near Atlas?
* New boombox tunes! Awesome! (let us dance how we want please)
* Villians fighting (and hurting!) each other
* Striga is wonderful! Mobs on patrol, ship missions. Lots of new mobs that I don't already now the capabilities of! Boy that Galaxy sure looks like a mean mo-fo, can I take him?
* The council are freakin everywhere! And they look menacing!
* I can put paragraphs in my bio now!
* Holy shnikeys! Aliens! Among us! Now were getting closer to a great comic-feel. First time I saw one I thought it was coming to kill me!
* Ghost ships? Giant octopus? More comic-y goodness!

Not high enough to check out the Anc Pools, but thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Thanks for running a game for over half a year and still leaving me very little about which to complain.

Thank you Dev team, support staff, Q&amp;A, testers, artists, hell, janitors even for unlocking the collective creativity of a server full of people (Virtue, sorry, it's my one experience), for giving us a rich palete of background, abilities, and locations to create amazing stories and make amazingly strong friendships, IC and OOC.

I'd also like to interject appreciation and applause for some great additions. Granted, I'm highly critical of the timing of the release being without the respec and global chat; but i AM excited about the new zone, villian groups, the APPs, the new ATs, etc.

The bosses still need another pass though, seems like a step back as far spanning the playability range.

Whatever new artists and writers you hired... give them a raise for us!!

I've played most MMO's, new and old and this one is one of the most fun ones I have found. Thank you very much for being open on what you are doing, and giving us this wonderful sandbox to play in.

I will also go so far as to thank you for still being on the boards given the extreme whines, rants, and complaints that you have to endure.

This is a great game that is only getting better. Thank you kindly.

I'm really enjoying the new content. The new Tanker taunt has made it even more fun to play with my tank, and so far, I've had nothing but good experiences playing my Peacebringer. I primarily solo, and I see the Peacebringer as a chance to get more involved in grouping.

Hey I know I'm still new to this game, and have only been playing it for 4 weeks now. But I just love it and love the attention that the Dev Team is giving to this game. This game is great, and let me say it pulled me away from UO which I had been playing for 5 years. Keep up the good work. Thanks for a great game. I can't wait to see what the future brings (CoV in mind).

I want to thank the devs for not only a great game, but 2 great updates(I didn't play before I2) that have both made the game more enjoyable for me.

Posted

I would also like to congratulate the devs on taking such a different concept to mmorpgs like superheros and making it work. Making it very fun and even seting a new standard in online games in general. Also I play a invul tanker on pinnicale and I am very happy with the changes to invul set, I often felt bad for other tankers because they didnt have a chance of tanking as well as I could....but now the game is even and fun for all.

Statesman,

Thanks for the great game. This has easily been my all time favorite computer game. The boss boost of course is challenging. In order to adapt, I'm making the following changes:

1. I'm quitting my supergroup.
2. I'm turning on /hide for all my characters.
3. I'm turning off my chat window for all my characters.
4. I've resolved never to team again.

Mind you, I love this game and I'm sticking around. I'm just very introverted and I react badly to forced teaming. Ironically, I was teaming more and more before Issue 3 came out, and getting ready to work with others to face the archvillains, but that idea just doesn't seem remotely workable for me any more.

I love the new zone, and it's neat to see the new Kheldians zipping around. I like all the power changes, although I'm sure there are quite a few others who are upset with some of them. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to Issue 4.

I am really enjoying issue 3 myself. The content looks gerat, and I am having as much fun today as my first day in game.

As similarly posted, and pointed out by a smart user I re-write - I respect yours and the other developers opinion 100%

You want constructive, on topic comments - you received many - contrary to what "you hoped for" or invisioned. Althought we were not pleased with the changes - we do understand most.

emotions and frustrations run high - this is always true.

Do we quit if we don't get our way - absolutely not! We simply provide the feedback we were asked for as constructively, honestly, and intelligently as we can, trying the power sets and power pools both ways.

At this point, I wish there were more communication - I wish there was not so many drastic changes, I wish the devs were communicative about the changes -- but those wishes don't always come true, and I'm sure the entire development team has much to do.

I sit at my computer, annoyed, emotional, chatting with my significant other - I'm not going anywhere (for now). I want to be a part of this game, so does she, and we sincerely appreciate the efforts of the entire City of Heroes development team. This game is truly awesome, and your efforts, assuredly, do not go unnoticed.

No one can make everyone happy all the time - period. No one can get that 5 star rating all the time, but some of us can strive to be the best we can be as developers, fictional heroes in this game, or common posters - in the end, none of it matters - except that we tried, and respected others along the way.

Thank you for posting to this thread and letting us know that the atta-boys really get through to you. They're well deserved.

Now back to our original Kudo, already in progress...

...and I thought people might be worried that Statesman had already made up his mind to make Fire and Illusion control weaker. So I PM'd him to post a public message telling us if that was the case - and he did it. He says he's still looking things over and doesn't know yet - which is fair, but the important thing is that he cared enough to let us know.

So kudos to States for keeping an open mind when approaching an issue, and letting us know what's on his mind.
