If your bottom line is the issue then you DO NOT drop profitable lines. That is, unless you can sell them. Terminating a profitable line only serves to make your bottom line worse than it already was.
Now, if you can sell the line to someone, then it makes sense. No, I think there has to be something more to this than just financials. If indeed they were making 10mil a year, there is no reason to shut them down. Unless it was funny accounting and either they were losing, or would lose money in the near term.
Very sad news. -
I'll go a different route. Don't play a Dom or Troller. With incarnate stuff, controls are mostly irrelevant (this coming from someone who has leveled almost every combination of controller to 50) in the end game. Either you are strong enough to slaughter it outright, or the game doesn't allow you to hold it long enough to make a difference.
Basically the game has devolved to those that can cap defense, and those that can debuff. Really nothing else is needed. Sure Damage is nice, but survivable damage is much much better and close in numbers to squishy damage.
As for farming... well that's another story. There are plenty of builds which do fine minion killing. There's no threat from minions.
Go with the Crab. -
Well one of your problems is that you are missing nearly 20% from slotting crushing impact. Your melee def is sky high, so dropping a slot in CT: Def would be good. Id move the Mask Presence hami's to TT:Maneuvers along with a 7.5% saving you other slots. Doctored wounds in Aid Self gives you another 5% recharge when you add another slot too it.
Just some thoughts. -
I can accept having the trials in the game. However, BAF is what people are running. Yes, you can find a Lambda, but I wait a lot for a BAF anyway. I don't want to log in to sit around and wait to form a raid. I can get that fun from another company that drives me crazy.
I want to log in and be a superhero. Up until I20 I could do that.
There is practically one outlet to advance your character now. BAF over and over. Sure, take days to do it. I understand you can do that, but also realize that you're still doing that one stupid outlet over and over. Open up things to the Taskforces that exist at least. Beyond the 10-5 or 10-10 shard to thread conversion. -
My problem is three fold:
(1) No one seems to run Lamda, or at least it's rare enough to make BAF the only raid I've been able to get on after 11 tries now. So for me, the content that I am gated to for any progress results in ONE mission that I have to repeat. Doesn't matter if I repeat it once a day, or once a week, I am still looking at another 10+ runs to get what I need. To put it in perspective, I've run ITF's probably 10-15 times total since it's been out. I like the ITF, just like I liked BAF the first time I did it. However, those 10-15 runs were over a period of two years and there was plenty of other things to do that gave equivalent rewards in that time period.
So I am forced to run ONE mission over and over if I want to progress in any sort of meaningful fashion. Regardless of the time frame, that's horrible game design.
(2) Unless you make multiple runs, you end up waiting 5-20 minutes to get a raid going. Where before I could start a small team, and go whether I was alone, had a partner, or a couple and pick people up on the way. No longer. I've spent more time standing around waiting for people to be able to get into a zone than I ever have in the game.
(3) I am feeling less heroic the more powerful I am getting. The same guys I was arresting solo, or with a team of up to 8, I now need 3x that many to do the same job. I've become a minion!
Roll back I20 please... -
No, you don't have to grind these two trials... because, the only one that you can easily find is the BAF. So you will be grinding the BAF over and over. At least when I've been on, that's what I've been able to find. Expect to do it a lot, expect to waste a lot of time waiting to do it a lot.
Unless they release a lot of content quickly they've done two things with this release:
(1) Added a singular path for advancement that while entertaining once, is dreadful after the 10th or 20th time you run it.
(2) Made all the other lvl 50 content that was decent very easy, removing it from really being much content at all.
So for me, they've reduced the game to a single raid for any character that's already 50. I really really can not understand why this system was released like this. -
I would find it hard to believe that you can solo an AV without having Heal Self. They are going to hit you and they hurt with out low levels of resists.
Also are you just doing more damage than their regen? Or are you relying on envenomed dagger to do the job? -

The limitations on the bases are just way too huge. While I love them as a RPer, they could be so much more.
* A want/need board for inside a supergroup. You can post anything you want/need in a SG board that people can deliver the goods to you. It would allow a far more collaborative effort for SG builds and likely breathe some life into actually wanting a SG.
* Ability to flag rooms as open zone PvP. (That takes care of deuling, arenas, etc.). Let us worry about the whole pathing issues.
* Ability to initiate arena style PvP. (Just access to the existing system, although to have it in your own space would be cool)
* Access and ability to run AE missions
* Devices to TP you to beacons throughout zones, not just the designated TP spaces. Each SG could set one beacon per zone allowing you to port to default or the beacon.
* Auction house accessibility.
* Basic geometric stackable shapes and ability to place them on all 3 axis.
* A unlockable room that transports a team to a mission (thus making a reason for a team to visit your base)
* Supergroup missions that spawn randomly on your control room. If completed in the time frame (1-2 days) they give a small buff for 1-2 days to every SG member. These missions should be difficult enough that they are team only content, AV's and the like. Again, giving reason to be in a group with a base.
* Salvage generator or converter. 2-1 conversion by type to help stop market spikers. Destroy recipe and some inf to create salvage.
* Combine salvage storage and crafting tables. Make it so that you can attach racks to crafting tables, but can never remove items from the salvage racks. You help the crafters and limit the capacity to spike the market.
* Actual doors that you can set permissions on. So guests can get to some parts of your base and others they can not. Leader rooms, etc.
Obviously some of these are harder than others, but these types of things would add a lot to bases and the desire to be in a SG with a good base. Oh well, back to dreaming. -
Can't comment too much since I don't have a Fire/Rad, but you can softcap using IO's to Ranged and probably do just fine with some good tactics. Holding the AV in place using an epic power choice will be key.
Rad has all the tools you need to make this work. -
(1) Well you want the 2 sets of CI in your two basic melee attacks for the +10% recharge. I'd put the oblits in Spin. The Lotg I would save for Mind link and Foresight. Frankly I wouldn't use more than 4 perf shifters for stamina. Can't think of much use for the Kinetic Crash...
(2) Ideally, you only want enough slots in Mind Link to get it perma. That means either a lot of slots or a lot of global. Since Global is more beneficial, I'd go that route.
(3) I'm sure you can make one. Will it be the best at what you are trying to do, probably not. However, that doesn't mean that it won't be effective.
(4) Yes.
(5) I like Souls since Gloom is so good. I also like the additional cone immob.
(6) Yep. I have it and the Musculature. I use Cardiac most of the time. -
I've played with both and currently have all three. There's a lot of time that I get stuck into melee and are using the spin cycle
When I am doing that, then it's nice to have eviscerate as another melee based AOE.
However, if I had to choose, I'd take both cones personally. When teamed there are usually a lot of durable people so having some good AOE potential is a nice thing to have. I have a solid attack chain along with three cones and spin for when I want to unload on a spawn. -
I have both and like having it. The combo cycles fast and with the Soul Immob you have three cones that can form a near seamless chain of AOE (180% recharge). I think it adds a lot to a widow when teaming.

Honestly best DPS doesn't really mean much to this discussion does it? If you wanted the best DPS, play a scrapper. They have the defenses and higher DPS. Or play a Sonic/Rad Fire/Cold corrupter. There are better DPS classes if that's all you are looking for.
What I can not get in a scrapper is:
(1) A really sneaky melee capable toon which buffs my team.
(2) A toon that can alt between melee and a troller light build
(3) A softcapped to all, ranged charcter that buffs my team.
So, for me, I don't worry to much about the highest end DPS. I have up until now used build 1 as a NW build. Build 2 is going to be a Fort, mostly ranged. There are only a smattering of ranged characters that have the Forts survivability. Granted, there is room to say that X gives you the same utility and better DPS, but for some of us, it's not all about the numbers. -
Is Aura of Confusion any good? I know I never cared for the Epic version of if. Saw that it was in a build above. I am taking a Fortuna build as the alt build of my Widow who I love to death. Deciding on some powers still and wondering what the opinions are between Confuse and Aura.
-
As long as we have an active topic, I am looking at both build #2, as well as revising my NW build #1.
Anyone have thoughts on the following?
(1) Elude: Is it really worth it as a power? It doesn't seem to offer much that we already lack other than DEF Debuff prot. I dropped it and haven't really missed it or it's crash.
(2) Aid Self: With all that def, seem kind of like a heal would be a nice thing. I've never had this power on any character of mine. However, am considering it here.
(3) Darkest Night: Does it make much difference once you are already capped?
(4) Placate: Anyone think our crits are so good that we want to have them up more often?
So just looking at opinions on those powers before I start tinkering more with my build. -
While I might agree with this on the surface, I've joined some small starting RP SGs which netted me some wonderful friends years after the SG turned to dust. Even the ones where I don't keep in touch with anyone, I had fun with.
So not quite that dismal. However, if you are looking for a stable SG with lots of active members, then advertising is likely not the way to go.
There is a thread link up top in this forum which has several very good SGs which may or may not be accepting new members.
As for the OPs question, leave your LFG tag on all the time. Works well for me and I spend as much time RPing as I do playing, so it's not like I have a hardcore group sitting around waiting for my whims -
I like my Rikti that dropped a purp, shard, and Vanguard Merit. I actually felt bad about defeating him at that point...
-
There is little to no skill involved in a MMO.
That was the first problem of many in this post. -
So I am working on my post I19 respec and looking for some feedback before I make it happen. I have perma hasten, and decent ranged def. However, should I scrap perma hasten to get better defense and use the alpha slot to boost recharge up to where I want it? Any other thoughts?
I was considering going Cardio or Musculature with this character.
Edit:
N/M, it's not an issue any more... -
I have two...
(1) Kin/Rad. Thought this would be an awesome ball of AOE destruction. What I got was a subpar blaster who had to buff each teammate every 90 seconds. Oh and a lot of face plants to go with it.
(2) Elec/Shield. I got the ball of AOE death with this character and hated the fact that teams were just not needed... at all. I would go it, get aggro, wipe the mob, clean up the bosses and move on. Everyone else on the team could door sit. Was the more boring thing ever. Rerolled to an elec/elec dom and liked it much better. -
Title pretty much says it all. I have tried (no temps, minimal insps) and just not had enough sustained damage.
Am I doing something wrong? -
Wow... I know this is a monster thread, but I have to add my .02
(1) Never have blasters, period. Defenders should have been more like corrupter from the start with blaster level damage.
(2) Everyone should have some kind of defense.
(3) Everyone should have reasonable offense. (CoV got their characters far closer to right)
(4) Personal housing using the base system.
(5) Additional zone events. Like the fire fighting in Steel. Non combat things would be great too. I wouldn't mind rescuing a kid from a river, or a cat from a tree. Simple but amusing and adds flavor.
(6) Ability to get more than 5 costume slots. -
I was standing in AP when it happened and stuck around to see the whole thing through. It was VERY cool and even more so when we found out why it happened. What I did not realize is when I was taking screenies I was standing next to the man of the hour!
Congratulations to you both and thank you for sharing your moment with us!
It was double cool that I was able to give a gift to the lucky bride, just wish I had more on me at the time.
Hmmm.... who's that next to me. No not the tall evil one... the guy on the statue.
P.S. sorry if I got in your screen shots
Found the couple in question posing and added some very neat screen shots of the event.

Yes I totally have multiple travel powers. Sprint and Ninja Run!
Oh... that's not what you meant?
Take whatever powers fit your concept. You're welcome on my team as long as you are pleasant, amusing, and reasonably competent. Heck, I'll settle for any two of the three... one of three?
