The Kudos Thread
I would also like to thank the dev's for making this a great game.
There are going to be changes and everyone won't always be happy with the changes. I remember the uproar after issue 2 came out and I found it to be great. Sure some strategies will have to change but that keeps things interesting.
Keep up the great work and keep in touch with the community and you'll keep this customer.
Thank you for working so hard and giving us free updates. I honestly had refused to ever play a game I had to pay to play but one look at the character creation screen was enough to hook me. I've been in this game since July or August and have no intention of quitting any time soon.
I love my Kheldian, and I'm confident that I will love my invul scrapper again after I can respec him.
Thank you Devs for issue 3.
Thanks for making a great game and for the content Issue 3. While I don't necessarily agree with every change, the following additions are greatly enhancing my gameplay experience:
1) Mission difficulty slider
2) Ancillary power pools
3) Striga Isle
4) Global chat (when it goes live that is)
Keep up the good job and I am looking to further improvements in Issue 4.
Add my name to the list of people who are happy with the game and the dev's attention.
I have sent PM's to Statesman on three occassions and all three times he responded back personally. Sadly all three times his responses weren't what I wanted to hear but that doesnt make me want to lash out at him. On the contrary, I respect that he and Cryptic are able to make difficult decisions and risk angering a section of the fanbase in the short-term so that the long-term is stronger. Remember that no individual or group can accurately speak for the entire community.
As someone who plays an invulnerability tanker I would like to say "Thanks" for Issue 3 and for your continue focus on the larger picture.

I stopped playing computer games 2 years ago as I just couldn't find one that could hold my interest long enough for me to make satifying progress. I had never played an RPG as I'm not really into the fantasy genre and had heard bad stories about most of the non-fantasy ones.
6 months ago my housemate bought CoH and I was hooked within a week. I got my own account shortly after and later joined EuroCore, one of the best clans/groups/whatever I have been with in any game. My main is now lvl 44, just experienced her first Ancillary powers that made her as giddy as a schoolgirl, and I have several alts I play regularly.
I'd say that's quite an acheievement for someone who stopped playing games 2 years ago. And it's all the Devs' fault. Keep up the good work.
Issue 3 sooooo sweeeet, so very very sweeeeeeetttttt....
I add my thanks to that of all those here, by far the best MORPG I ever played and getting better every day.
Thank you. As a Software Architect myself, I applaud the quality, creativity of the product and timely patches and content additions. Keep it coming!
Yay
I too would like to had tha thanks of both myself and my wife. She plays an Inv/Eng tank and loves the changes, and from watching her play with the root removed from Unyelding Stance I can see why.. she was from 35 to 36 in a little more than 2 hours of play time in Bricks. Just a note to all of you that like to come out here and screem about how the Devs don't listen.. I have on thing to say... leave.. I dare ya.. I did.. I got board with the game a few months ago and gave SWG a swing.. if you do like it here.. you would hate it there...If you have an issue in game you cant get a GM there to even look at it...I couldn't get back to COH fast enought...anyway... Thanks agin Statesman, Cuppa, and the entire staff for a game that both my wife and I love to play and look fowared to enjoying for a long time to come.
A small add feature but a welcomed one but you can now quit as soon as you type /quit.
I would like to say thank you to the Development team and NCSoft staff for introducing me to the MMORPG world. I never wanted to play a magician or a paladin. I have been an avid comic book and cartoon fan for well over 30 years.
I would like to say a SPECIAL thanks because I played Superhero RPG's for over 15 years. I now have the opportunity to see some of my beloved character come to life. You cant imagine how that has truly inspired me.
My wife who HATES computer games and HATES playing anything online loves playing CoH. That is the miracle of CoH...
Once again Airhammer, Neutron, Prime, Exaclibur, Heatstroke, Bladerunner, Stormbringer and Re-Flex thank you...
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-
Hats off to a great dev team. I suggest in Issue 4, you incorporate a /cheese command which will complement the whiners.
Viva la CoH!
Thanks Alot for the time and effort. Hope you enjoyed the holidays.
Issue 3 rocks! City of Heroes rocks! The devs rock! Kheldians rock! ...ok, no more time here...must play peacebringer more...
THanks to everyone for making COH a great game. I'm still getting used to the changes for my lv 32 inv/ss tank, but I do love the new unyielding.
I think alot of inv tanks ignored their resists due to the fact that invincible worked so well. I only had an end red in my 1 slotted invicible and I could stand in the middle of a huge group and barely take any hits at all. I'm still not certain how good the invincible changes are yet, , but I'm willing to play around with them for a while.
Again thank you all for the great game.

And thank you all.
It's our great fans that make this game the success that it is. Nothing is more satisfying than reading these posts - and going on the live servers and hearing the chat.

This is a very fun game, and while I'm very dissappointed with EAT's, you can be sure I am looking forward to future Issues and will probably eternally return for each update because the game is very good and the support of the game is very good. I'm just super dissappointed because I don't want to play NOW. I would love to be playing CoH again and having all that fun, but the Kheldians aren't fun.
Anyway, I just want you to know that I LOVE this game and think that you all do a good job overall. If the complaints have come very heavy it is because I'm simply just so dissappointed not to get to play it again.
For whatever reason you feel that the Kheldians are fun to play. I don't understand this, but I still have faith that you will eventually create something that will draw me back in again.
Thanks for your overall good job and any customer loss Cryptic gets as the result of this issue will be mitigated by the overall good work you do.
Thanks for making the one place where I can feel like a hero...

I want to add my praise, as well! I especially like the active fighting between the 5th Column and Council forces throughout the city. I never cared much for the "two enemy groups fighting, but neither doing damage", but understood it was necessary to give atmosphere, and the players still get a challenge. But this active fighting between 5th & Council is great to watch! I love when several squads all come together in a massive firefight. WEEE!
Also, the immersion on Striga Isle is definitely a great step forward. Roaming patrols, Council troops with radios and binoculars, Sky Raider mercs, etc. It all blends together and helps bring the place to life, and (perhaps most importantly), makes sense with the storyline/background.
If there's one thing I'd say to the Devs (besides keep up the great work ), it's to take all the whining with a grain of salt. Even better, ignore the whiners, so you have more time to devote to those who present their ideas and concerns in a clear and concise manner...
I have to add my kudos as well. The game overall is amazing, and I'm personally loving Issue 3. Sure, there are a few minor points that are irritating at the moment, but those should go away with the respec. In the meantime, the additions look wonderful, by and large. My Invuln scrapper is doing *better* now, which I expected in spite of all the predictions of doom, and will be doing better still one respec comes along. I'm loving the mission difficulty adjuster - while it hurts, I can solo the Invincible level, which I find great fun. Post-35 has been dull for me, because I could solo so far over my head that missions had become just an excercise in running through an area and wiping everything out without breaking a sweat. Now I actually have to work on a mission, and stop periodically to decide if I really want to charge into that next room, or maybe be a little more creative. For me, that makes the game much more fun. I don't think I've lost soloing on an non-AV mission since around 35th level. It's nice to have that sense of risk again. I still haven't made a trip to the hospital, but I'm definitely coming closer now. Woot!
Just thank you to the devs and all at Cryptic

Thanks for always staying involved and not being discouraged by the negativity. Always remember the negativity is people who love the game so much that they get emotional about it.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
After years of toying with video games, and sticking mainly to the FPS genre, City of Heroes was the first game that ever made me even consider trying out a MMORPG. I was always hesitant about paying a monthly fee for a game, but the more that I read about COH, the more willing I was to give it a try. (And this was waaaay back in the day when Gadgets was an archetype.) I finally gave in about a month or so after launch, and I never looked back.
There are a ton of other games I'd like to try, but I really can't bring myself to NOT devote an hour a night to fighting crime on the streets of Paragon. More than that, I can't stop myself from patrolling the forums all day long, and dreaming up new heroes to play -- this game gives free reign to my superheroic fantasies that I've had since I read my first comicbook. It's fun, it's easy to get into, and it's completely addictive. I know that the gameplay is only going to get more interesting as the world develops, and I look forward more and more to logging in each night.
So, yeah, kudos to the people that created the greatest timekiller of my mid-twenties. Keep up the good work!
A MMOG is far more then just a program, content or even a community. A great part of it is the team at the wheel and the leader whose vision directs it. My deepest thanks to all of you over at Cryptic, not only for countless hours of fun, but also for your time, energy and dedication.
You have earned a loyal customer in me not only because of a fantastic product. I will play and pay for CoH, and whatever other ideas you might turn into future games because of your profound love and pride you take in your own work, and the great amount of respect you have given us.
Thanks again, and keep up the top notch work.
BTW, while I do have my share of complaints about the issue (not quite 100 pages worth...) I do want to say thanks for some of the new graphics, art, and content that you did ad.
I agree with 90% of the changes and additions, and I think the Crytic team worked very hard to make that happen.
Naturally, I reserve the right to complain about the other 10% (and I hope you would not want it any other way.)
Regards,
