To answer your question anyway Milky, no there isn't a mirror and you will see this behavior occasionally. Sometimes (particularly after a large patch) the updater just runs slowly. There are only two patch servers and if you wind up on one that is being heavily used then your download speed will be slow. You can try stopping and restarting the downloader. You will not lose your progress and might get a faster connection speed.

Well, the Monkey and Redcap are good for startling people.
Just find a zone where creature would be found and then after summoning it fly over a person or group who is just standing around where they obviously think it's safe. I personally like the Redcap at Annah because a lot of lower level types go there to get the extra costume slot. It's even better if you can get a few friends to join in so you have a whole group of Redcaps that can't be targeted charge up.
Yes I'm sadistic. -
Meh. But you know how it is. An expansion pack comes out with new costume pieces and some icon addicted players just absolutely have to update their look even though it doesn't really fit in with their character concept.

Update your video drivers. They are now almost 4 years out of date.

Another thing to take into consideration when talking about seeing almost nobody in game is not just the server where you started but the zone. If you have Going Rogue then you started in Praetoria for your first character at least but it's possible that you bought one of the older versions because it was cheaper. So if you created a hero you have the choice of two starting zones, Atlas and Galaxy. On every single server Galaxy is pretty much empty. Atlas is the zone most often chosen to start in except by people who want to play in a mostly empty zone.

Enjoyed it and have hope for it but the cliches were very heavy handed and the hero was just plain bland. It's not a good sign when all of your secondary characters are charismatic and your main character is meh.
Although admittedly in the Batman tv series many of the villains had much better presence than Batman or Robin.
Overall the series reminded me a lot of The Spirit in the way it took the campy bits seriously if that makes any sense. -
Try turning ambient occlusion completely off. It's currently for some reason hitting performance much harder than it was previous to I19.

Move the updater to your desktop, not a shortcut but the updater itself. Then you can run it from there and delete the desktop version afterwords.

Not enthused.
Sure the winner gets a one time prize of $500 but it doesn't say that they will be given any credit for creation of the character. And NBC can use any of the characters they like even though only one person is getting the prize. Sounds to me like they are trying to get a season or two worth of creativity for less than they would pay a regular writer to come up with a few concepts.
Their next contest will probably be "Write a script and win an autographed picture of Summer." -
Some people who have the television as a contact are experiencing crashes whenever they open their contacts window unless they are in safe mode. It might be related to your problem.

Quote:Not entirely true. Some of my old characters who have Toy Collector (so I know they participated in previous winter events) got the powers and some didn't. I can understand if you still have one of the powers (I usually hold onto debt protection until higher levels). Debt is such a non-issue anymore though who cares?
I am actually more annoyed about the Cheer. I like giving it out in the middle of summer or at Halloween and seeing people with the Santa rocket!
I too love giving out the cheer during the rest of the year. I always look for vet badges to find somebody who wasn't around at the last winter event. -
By any chance do you have a program running that changes your wallpaper every few minutes? Somebody else was experiencing this same thing. They had regularly spaced lag spikes and HD usage and it turned out to be that program.

Actually they should be able to merge the two zones now even though there are alternate missions for heroes and villains. I see no reason that they couldn't use the vanishing contacts process from Praetoria to put in two versions of any contact that gives differing missions. One flagged to only be there for villains, the other to only be there for heroes.
No, I'm not going to assume it would be easy because I am completely clueless about what code changes it would require. However looking at it from the outside it seems it should be relatively easy to set the proper flags according to a character's alignment rather than according to what missions they have completed. -
Let's see. 2 second cool down period between invites. Assume that you are really slow and take an entire extra second to click on the name and click invite. At 3 seconds per you can still invite 20 people to a team in 1 minute.
I know it's just my opinion but sheesh, some people need to get a bit of perspective here. If you'll take the time to remember just a short while back you couldn't even invite people by clicking on their name. You had to target the character or else type their name out.
I vote that they increase the time between invites to 30 seconds. I really really want to see what it looks like when somebodies head explodes. -
Quote:Yes, your path should beI downloaded the EU client and the file path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe"
is that a problem
C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.eu.exe
You can just change the file name in the game directory and in the shortcut and it should work. -
The Doctor may have at some point said that history can't be rewritten. However look how often he lies to people including companions "for their own good" or just to avoid having to go into deeper explanation.
If he were talking to another time lord or talking to himself then I "might" consider it a breach of canon. Otherwise it's just him being The Doctor.
And even if it were him speaking to another time lord or himself it might not be a breach of canon. There have also been many times that he has considered something impossible and then come up with some way to work around the supposedly impossible situation.
Also the majority of the body cells are constantly being replaced. Skin more quickly than muscle, muscle more than bone, bone more than nerve tissue. But there is likely some point where there is enough different matter in the body that there isn't a problem with a person meeting and touching themself. Which also explains why all the different incarnations of The Doctor are capable of meeting and touching. -
The definition would solve a lot of the problems. However with the current engine and sliders there is simply no way to make a female character appear to have thick arms and shoulders. They simply look frail compared to the rest of the body unless covered with armor.
I've said it before and will again. We need a 4th body type, Huge Female. It would be just like Huge is to male. Bulkier but muscular. -
Yes the old forums would destroy posts. I remember this because I got in the habit of doing a ctrl-c on any long post I created before submitting it.
And it's been another day now that I haven't experienced any log outs here. I'm actually keeping track of it so I know that it's not just my memory playing tricks on me. -
Ok, run these two programs and post the results here. They will let us see what graphics capability you have and what your settings are. They will also let us see if there is some other program that may be interfering with CoH.
CoHHelper and Hijackthis
After running Hijackthis you will be given the option to save a log. Save that log then cut and paste everything in it here. When you run COHHelper all the information will be automatically saved to your clipboard so you can just paste it here. -
Quote:Just so you know this isn't a universal problem. In fact this is the first thread I've seen about it. There may have been others that I missed but I wasn't aware of the problem. And I've never had to click those changes more than once per character myself. I know this for certain because I've got characters that I do build IOs for and others that I just automatically toss all salvage and recipes on the market. And those settings never change.Seriously, we know it's easy to fix because this functionality occurs so many other places in the game.
1) Hide Useful Salvage Warning
Come on! I have to click this box multiple times every day I play! There's a whole boatload of these 'hide prompt' options that work correctly - why can't this one get fixed? It's been broken so long that it's genuinely ridiculous. It doesn't matter whether you click the setting in the pop-up box or if you go into Menu/Options - both settings fail.
2) Hide Large Action House Fee Warning
Exact same issue as above.
I wonder if this particular setting is stored on server or on disk. -
Usually when this problem shows up on a particular zone it's because there is actually a problem with that zone on the server. Any character who logs into that zone will get stuck in a state of loading and will considered to be already in game even though they aren't actually there. Many times you can actually do a search with another character and see the corrupted listed as online in that other zone.
The only real solution to this is to get online with another character and petition to have the affected character moved to another zone. -
It is my belief that turning off rep and comments is what broke the forum. It was only after that happened that everybody started having the logging out problem.
