NBC's "The Cape" wants your Villain
If someone from here doesn't win, I will be highly disappointed.
"Samual_Tow - Be disappointed all you want, people. You just don't appreciate the miracles that are taking place here."
Hmmm...may have to double check the TOS to see if I can submit an alt and screenies

All my years focusing exclusively on Villains with "Natural" origins is about to pay off! (And yes, that is, far and away, where I put my focus)
I'm pretty sure that the EULA states that once you make a toon in game, it becomes the property of NCSoft. In short, if you want to keep the character yours and your copyright, then don't make it in game.

Not enthused.
Sure the winner gets a one time prize of $500 but it doesn't say that they will be given any credit for creation of the character. And NBC can use any of the characters they like even though only one person is getting the prize. Sounds to me like they are trying to get a season or two worth of creativity for less than they would pay a regular writer to come up with a few concepts.
Their next contest will probably be "Write a script and win an autographed picture of Summer."

There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
I think writing a script to get an autographed picture of Summer Glau is a good deal

Heh. Got my villain name and 50 word description (maaan that's short), now to just dust off teh pencil for a sketch and send it in.

Has anyone thought of consulting NCsoft on this and collaborating? Would it not be good publicity for the game itself if one of the villians chosen was a currently playing villain in CoV? (and not one just created for this)
Just asking As I currently have a corrupter named Pyromaniac on Guardian with a great back story who would be awesome for this
But I'm undecided on where to spend the two weeks. Someplace hot would encourage her to wear as little as possible, but someplace bitter cold would keep her snuggled up to me for warmth.

Another thing to point out is that the linked page says to describe the character, but the fine print of the rules say to describe what the character can do.
Still, the first place prize (or equivalent) would be nice, so I sent in a submission. >.>

And a prize of $500 for something that would take most people 15 minutes or less to think up? I'm pretty sure TV writers don't make $2000 an hour.
