Might I suggest you poke your head up into the Mentor Project thread and introduce yourself. You can also type /chan_join "N P C" in your chat ingame if you have any questions while playing.
Also, you will want to bookmark Paragon Wiki, as it is a wealth of information about the game.
My tips on playing, roll up a concept of what matches the playstyle of what you want to play, take your time and read the descriptions of the AT's (Archtypes) and their respective Powersets. And don't look at the clock when creating your character, you can easily spent two hours in there. 
Something you will hear often in these forums... "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey." There is no rush to get the max-level (50) as there is plenty to do on the way.

To answer your question anyway Milky, no there isn't a mirror and you will see this behavior occasionally. Sometimes (particularly after a large patch) the updater just runs slowly. There are only two patch servers and if you wind up on one that is being heavily used then your download speed will be slow. You can try stopping and restarting the downloader. You will not lose your progress and might get a faster connection speed.

I've been looking for a new MMORPG to play and stumbled across CoH:GR on Steam. I've bought the game and the expansion pack, linked an account to them and now I have to download the client through the website.
My problem being I cannot get a peak download speed higher then 60kb/s using the game client installer. My internet usually downloads between 500kb-800kb/s. Is there any legit mirrors I can use to get the most recent patch version of CoH:GR instead of the game installer?

Disreguard this, a reboot of Steam has caused it to link with my account and is downloading the client at a nice speed. Sorry to take up threadspace.
