Thanks for all the birthday wishes again.
To the entire Protector community: It's been a privilege to play with you all and an honor to be involved in various community projects.
I'll always have the fondest memories of my SG mates, and their enduring faithfulness. Your support and trust, even through the hard spots, is something I will cherish forever.
Rumours of other solutions to keep COH alive nothwithstanding, this was my last event, my last presence in the game besides one last promise I am keeping.
Fellow heroes, villains, and all shades in between: Good bye. -

Going to go finish claiming inf packages now so I'm ready for it. -
More inf coming in from @archerin and @evangaurt.
Not bothering to count it as I'm looking for locations to store it all now... counting later. -
Here are the shots I managed to track down in relation to Heather Hoffrman:
The Comic Book Cover:
Heather herself:
And sadly, this thumbnail is the only thing I have left of the wallpaper done of the actual commemoration event:

Quote:I played it on my first computer, an Apple IIc.I played the original by Infocom back when it was available for the Atari systems.
In other news, my son also decided to hand over all his inf for this event, so we're now looking at a prize package of over 11 billion (official tally later).
Here is the statement he left me earlier:
Quote:It is with a Broken heart that i say thanks To Paragon Stuidos, and to all our fellow honorable Heroes willing to give everything for a cause greater than their own.
Farewell Paragon City.
Still hoping;
-Stalemate jr- Aka: Electric Torch, soon to fall to nothing.
Your Heroes are Dead -Project 86 -
Is an inspiration in standing up for what he believes in without being overbearing about it. A trait I admire since it is a weakness of mine.
A dedicated, thoughtful, steadfast man. -
Heather "Storm Angyl" Hoffman was young SG leader on Protector who succumbed to complications brought about by cancer.
We had a special tanker event held in her name during our herolympics some years ago.
I will add details and pictures later as I track them down. -
Are you one of those fans who, like me, has even played the HHGTTG text parser game by Infocom?
Here it is online now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/game.shtml -
Quote:My mind has blocked out how much hiring my daughter and sending that custom card cost last year...Also for those new folks who haven't done this before, if time and money are tight you can always send e-mail cards.
No need to break the bank of cards and postage. Though this has never stopped Stalemate before. I have a feeling he will be in the dog house most of December!
Worth every penny though. -
Not only that, but now Gordon Gorilla, Black Leather Angel, Snowblade and Hyperstrike have all donated to the pot: we now have 10 billion inf to spread around.
-
I've been able to reclaim 3 billion inf from my characters so far.
Added to the PERC server funds, that makes a total of 6 billion inf so far.
Not as impressive a bang as I would have hoped for, but that's what you get for giving away inf every time you log on (I estimate having given out about 30 billion in my "career"). -

DON'T PANIC!
Stalemate's Birthday Bash and Farewell Tour
Sponsored by the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation, and the Player Event Resource Committee
Musical guest
Disaster Area
with the recently resurrected Hotblack Desiato
Stand up comedy act
Marvin
"Your plastic pal who's fun to be with"
Both acts are yet to be confirmed.
In fact they have not even been contacted.
OK, all right.
There won't be any acts.
Happy now?
Maybe some online radio DJs will take pity on you and propose to cover the event,
but you know you don't deserve any of it.
At this point, we're all keenly aware that there is something fundamentally wrong with the universe.
This realization is keenly brought into focus for me as I reach my 42nd year on this immense calculator we call Earth.
I had planned things a little differently in my head for the occasion, but the Infinite Improbability Drive™ decided to cough up a whale and a bowl of petunias instead. Oh well.
Please join me in Pocket D to celebrate my birthday, life, the universe, and everything
on Thursday September 6 at 8pm.
We'll try to get the hang of Thursdays before the universe ends and reminisce about our heroic and dastardly exploits.
There will be a time set aside for group screencaps to be taken.
Spontaneous activities are garanteed to occur as well, since everyone will be encouraged to conduct their own afterwards.
I will donating upwards of 4B inf that evening for the worst Vogon poetry and the best alien costumes.
The actual total inf package may fluctuate as I consolidate my holdings into one lump sum, and if donations are received.
Random prizes will also be handed out for those who choose to lightly roleplay based on the evening's theme. I know, you'll have about 10 minutes to spend it, but it's the thought that counts, right?
Worst Vogon styled poetry: 50% of all inf available.
Best alien themed costume: 50% of all inf available.
Random prizes for anything else that strikes my fancy at the time.
This will be a BYOT* and BYOPGGB** party for those of drinking age. There's nothing wrong with being drunk. Unless you're a glass of water.
Bring the muscle relaxant of your choice. If the end of the universe isn't a good enough reason to partake in libations, I don't know what is.
*Bring your own towel.
**Bring your own Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. -
Quote:Was thinking Hawken, and the other one was The Secret World. If it is the one that is FPS I am on the forums as this name. The RTS one I have registered my name but I haven't been active on it yet.
PS
Oh in that case, MechWarrior: Online-MWO and MechWarrior: Tactics-MWT are the games respectively.

I am taking my sig with me, screw NCSoft. -
I can only state that I know who my next MMO will not be published by... Not a company that undervalues its community of content developers and its clients.
I have been looking into the "secret societies / conspiracy" MMO, and am still awaiting patiently for that FTP online mecha game coming soon.
Nothing official except "no elves". -
*hugs Zekiran
Let's do this.
