I want names

Specifically, I want the names of the devs who thought it would be a good idea to put a forced delay/cooldown period between inviting people to your team.

/em baseball bat

Been annoying the crap out of me since I19.

Since I19, you have a two second or so period after you invite someone to your team in which you can't send out another invite.

So if you shout out in global chat/sg/whatever "Forming up for a pug Dr. Quaterfiled task force" and six people immediately say "Sure, invite meh!", instead of going "click invite click invite click invite click invite DONE" real quick like you used to, you now have to go "Click invite....... Click invite...... Click invite.... Wait, didn't wait long enough that time, have to wait a few more seconds before trying to invite that person again."

Yeah, this change makes no sense to me. I understand there are some people who try to spam invites to their teams without asking, but I am a "victim" of this maybe once every two months. The inconvenience they have caused me in the last six years is waaaaaaaaay less than the inconvenience this change has presented me with just in the last two weeks.

Oh, this'll make it fun when we start forming up teams for a Rikti invasion or the like!

It already does.

And here i thought it was some sort of latency issue the other day. Was this mentioned in the patch notes at all?

No. I thought I was doing something wrong as well, then I noticed in the error tab " You can't do that right now. Please try again in a few seconds." I was all:

Agreed. Do Not Want.

This change is long overdue and it will save the game. Inviting people to team has been too easy for too long. Even with this change it's still ridiculously easy if you do it properly. Instead of getting all QQ-ey about it, just watch what you're doing and adapt. Heck, I can invite people to a team in less than 6 parsecs on an unslotted FF/Archery defender that I haven't even rolled yet. So there. L2I.

You had me going till I got to "parsecs".

This seems like the overly easy change to a minor issue.

A better changer would be something like 10 second cool down if you send 7 invites in 12 seconds or something like that.

If this is a suggestion to get rid of the timer then count me as /signed. Totally unneeded and annoying change.

Let's see. 2 second cool down period between invites. Assume that you are really slow and take an entire extra second to click on the name and click invite. At 3 seconds per you can still invite 20 people to a team in 1 minute.

I know it's just my opinion but sheesh, some people need to get a bit of perspective here. If you'll take the time to remember just a short while back you couldn't even invite people by clicking on their name. You had to target the character or else type their name out.

I vote that they increase the time between invites to 30 seconds. I really really want to see what it looks like when somebodies head explodes.

There could be a deeper reason behind it. There are hints of upcoming changes to the way we form teams in the game right now: the "chat with team leader" option, some other stuff that I can't remember right now and doesn't/didn't actually do anything....yet. So the short cooldown might actually be necessary at some point down the road.

For now, it's annoying, but not nearly as much as the 15-second wait to email stuff to my alts.

The problem is not the absolute amount of time it takes to form a team, it's the fact that you need to pace your clicking.

The thing is I can type /i nameoffriend (granted, none of my friends have dumb names with CaPsLiKeThaT or xX_NuM3r4ls_Xx) faster than that 2 seconds apparently, as I keep getting hit by that timer (and not once but multiple times). Very annoying.

Regardless, it's just a pointless change that's akin to a nerf - pure decrease in quality of life, no advantages.
