Quote:Same, I loving have a kin on the team but the one time I tried to play one was deleted shortly after getting SB. I was enjoying until then, and then just a few teaming experiences with "SB plz" and I deleted and never looked back. Probably the same reason that 1) I have never played a stone/ tank, and 2) I have never asked for SB. I have thanked for it many times, but I refuse to ask for it.Kinetics.
Actually I am lying. I do play it, but I can only take so much of it. Everything about it is great except one thing. Speed Boost.
Talk about a love/hate relationship with a power. I love having it cast on me. Maintaining it is something else altogether. Something about combining great effects with a 2 minute duration with a run speed boost that lets allies dart out of range constantly adds up to me wanting to set the Kinetics set on fire.
Although I always hope a Kinetics character will want to team with me.
I also have one Assault Rifle character that is level 3 (I think). I can't get past the "hero with a gun" thing. Not sure why... I have no hang ups with smacking baddies with swords, claws, or great sparkling beams of shiny. -
It is certainly clear that keeping the mindless future servants of Nemesis in front of a television with all their attention focused on commercials allows his minions to move about our communities enacting his many plots.
Bacon, thankfully, was free from Nemesis' foul machinations during the Superbowl. -
Gratz! Two more to go myself on my villain badger.

You have the good advice on the KB hole already.
I did a dark/ tank and went the fear route for many levels, presence and all, just for kicks. Its fun and has a unique feel if you want to do it. There is mitigation there, and it helps. On the other hand, when I finally respec'd away from it to a more 'normal' build approach my survivability went way up.
So, it'll work, and its kinda fun, but you won't feel tank-y enough. -
Glad you got it, the answer normally is
As pointed out, "Revenent Hero Project".
But if hunting
Eden or, I find the Shard has a steady diet of them too -
Thanks all for this thread.
This actually explained something that was happening in game to my EA/DM, but I was writing it off to my own perceptions/bad memory. It seemed particularly noticeable when I teamed with another tank compared to other multi-tank runs.
I am happy to know that, in this at least, I am not crazy. -
Darn good stuff.

Or, perhaps the combinations of primary/secondary open a new interaction pool set? Tertiary powers scoped by the 'interactions'.
That would be a lot of combos to work through though. so not likely.
Interesting concept, though, that the OP got me to think about anyway. -
All of my characters use it as the holding place for rare salvage I do not want to sell. Comes in handy periodically when, instead of placing a bid, I remind myself to check the vault first. Its always fun to find the desire salvage awaiting me 'for free'.

One of my characters attended Paragon Central High School.

You asked...
Chyll, Justice, Ice/Ice/Cold Blaster: My first character, and my first 50. Remains fun, and I enjoy bringing him out. Pretty much ruined controllers for me though, I was used to holding and doing blaster level damage.
Nephryte, Justice, Dark/Rad/Dark Defender: my first defender, and my second 50. Rarely break her out lately.
Inflyct, Justice, Dark/Cold/Soul Corruptor: my first villain, my only badger, and remains my favorite character to play. Redside or co-op SF? This is who I prefer to fetch.
Spectryl, Justice, Spines/Dark/Body Scrapper: my first scrapper, a ton of fun to play - feels like one long continuous nuke. Still break him out when I need to generate some quick cash.
Solyd, Justice, Invul/EM/Nrgy Mstry Tank: my first tank, and leveling him was insane fun. I think, of all tank sets I have enjoyed Invul the most. Doesn't get out much, haven't sorted him to where I would like in the IO world.
Beryllos, Justice, Fire/Rad/Fire Controller: my first controller, was for a regular SG play night team. Was fun with that group, but just a chore to play otherwise. I blame Chyll (see above). He rarely sees the light of day.
Vanysh, Justice, Son/Rad/Soul Corruptor: my second corr to hit 50 and a ton of fun to level. the son/rad combo just melted things left and right. Don't play her much... Inflyct keeps the level 50 corr limelight to himself.
Orphyn, Justice, Widow: a fun, rip through things good time but somehow less satsifying than other characters so doesn't get played much.
Dysquiet, Justice, Ill/Son/Primal Controller: playing Doms made me re-evaluate trollers a bit, and I took a stab at Illusion to be different. whoohoo fun at times. If you want me to bring a troller, this is the one that I'll get.
Ghyr, Virtue, Claws/SR/Body Scrapper: SR is a hoot. And claws is giddy fun. Creating this character and enjoying it is what caused me to go and make Orphyn (who hit 50 first, but I enjoy Ghyr more). I still break Ghyr out periodically to generate some cash for my virtue lowbies.
Horryd, Justice, Dark/DB/Nrgy Mstry Tank: most of her leveling career a concept build that focused on Fear. Late 40s respected out of the fear powers and went to town. Still fun to break out now, and does a nice job holding aggro and being dark and pointy.
Violynce, Justice, Shield/BS/Body Scrapper: my third scrapper to 50. She is fun, and with Parry in action is soft capped to all positions. chop chop chop chop
Hyposhock, Justice, Cold/Ele/Ele Defender: I liked cold so much redside that I had to make one when it came available. talk about a slow combo solo... ouch. But fun in a team, and I break him out periodically at 50 now.
Myrson, Justice, Grav/Psi/Soul Dominator: leveling this one was slow work, until the Dom revamp and then he got out to play more and more. One of the easiest characters I had solo in the 40s. Just plain stupid fun to lock them down and defeat the defenseless fools!
I feel like I'm forgetting someone...
And several in and around 40+ on Justice, Virtue, and Protector, so more coming. -
Absolutely. This is one of the true build changing slot choices.

Quote:Play your blaster. Have your fun!I am rolling my first energy/energy blaster and its pretty fun. Im at lvl 11 with her now.
I then teamed up with a lvl 50 scrapper to help him and I start firing.
Immediately he says "No KB".
So I looked at my powers and they ALL caused knockback lol.
I couldnt help him more than throwing my apprentice charm and using sands of mu. I felt pretty useless.
So while the blaster is fun to play, I dont want to play her anymore because I dont want to hear "no KB" for the next 39 levels and people not wanting to team with me because of knockback
KB is damage mitigation, and often darn good, giggling times.
And that there was a bad, lazy scrapper. -
Eek. I didn't even think about it at the time. Apologies. My head was here:
But I recognize that with new players and all...
Dang.
Given the (albeit relatively few) posts earlier than mine, I hope this was really true:
bad, Chyll. bad. -

In the end, I don't think there is a drastic difference between the two, so if the money is an issue I'd say Build 1.
In Build 2 you are all but soft-capped to all three positions, and anything you do take your regen should swallow and burp. That rech is nice, too.
And as I heart regen, my vote falls there from a purely academic standpoint.
(Now, whether this response is meaningful or not....) -
Quote:You can kill them, and they aren't all that tough (big punch, weak shell... think blaster). Hard to target the little wigglers without tab key, though.Pretty Similar to DE's post above. We had a full team of 8 and were doing pretty well until the Northern Lights just got too bad. We had people getting sent to the hospital and killed inside the hospital just as soon as they stood back up.
THe NL's were like a Nictus Army only much, much worse. You cannot target them or defeat/ disable them. At least it didn't seem like you could. -
Those Northern Lights pack a punch, and without any serious debuff Lord Winter is tough.
All that's fine, I suppose, but if you don't get a major involvement response... its debt and no glory. Team and half, bumpkis to show for it.
And the normal Winter Lords are buffed far more than I remember from previous years. -

Quote:/unsignedFor GR they should apply the exact same rules in Praetoria that we currently have for PvP. This would not only provide players with a refreshing new level of challenge, but would also allow them to experience and get comfortable with these mechanics in a safe environment which will make them less apprehensive to step foot into the Arena or a PvP zone.
If this were to happen it would become a win/win situation for both the PvE and PvP community.
Also, please throw in some PvPvE content as well just like they have in Aion.

With a heavy a heart many of my heroes would step forward and offer to join in any mission as critical as Steelclaw suggests.
Of my many alts and numerous 50s I can tell you which ones have the strength of will to step forward and which would seek to help in other ways. Its not a stupid question at all. -

Quote:The flyer's patterns are pretty distinct, however, unlike most other GMs it doesn't persist. It is very hard to get a team together and get there before the pattern is done and leaves. I have never gotten the badge, and every time I try we are actively attacking the thing when it finishes and flies into the sunset. Once at under 25% health.I haven't had a chance to fight the Flyer yet but I have watched it. It seems to show up and follow a rather distinct path. Plus, it shows up pretty regularly. Caleb is surprisingly hard to find to be a giant monster, doesn't show up in regular intervals like Flyer/Scrapyard, and doesn't stay up after spawn like Deathsurge.
Quote:They both need to be fixed. The Flyer needs to hang around longer, or give a 10 minute warning prior to arrival, because it's too difficult to mobilize a team within the given timeframe. Caleb needs to be easier to find when he does spawn because there's nothing more frustrating than seeing the spawn message, and then not being able to find him.
