What places do you look forward to seeing in Ultra mode?

I have been looking at the video of where they showed us ultra mode and it got me thinking what places I wanted to go to and see in ultra mode most.

Hero side
1. Croatoa around the bay where sally is and the forests
2. Perez Park to see the light in the forest canopy
3. Dark Astoria. for more reasons than I can list in one post
4. Skyway City to see the shadows of the overpasses. for the three dimensional aspect of the lighting
5. Cimerora to see the shadows in town
6. Firebase Zulu. for the same reason I will have to wait till Christmas next year to see pocket D in ultra mode seeing the floating asteroids for the play on light and shadow.

Villan side

1. Nerva Archipelago for the seagulls.
2. St. Martial because I spend alot of time there villian side
3. Cap Au Diable

those are my top nine places I thought of. Where would you like to see?

Ouroboros would look extra pretty!

Certain maps would also look awesome like:

3rd and 4th ITF mish maps
Clockwork King liar
The lab map with all the PP pods.

When they revealed the complex shadows created by part of a powerstation (in Brickstown, I think) my first thought was of Grandville and 'The Tangle.' It should look fairly impressive. Indeed, all of that zone will probably look even more sinister, which is why I like it so much.

St. Martial casinos at night. Specially, The Golden Giza.

Atlas Park.

Call me cliche, but just the idea of seeing the place looking like it's gotten a complete redo is gonna be what gets me.

So far, they've not said if mission maps will be using the new graphics or not - although, the actual sewer zones will most likely have them.

It would seem kind of chintzy if they didn't use them.

Echoing Golden Girl, ALL of them...but I think some of the lesser visited areas like Perez Park could really use the boost. Perez has the potential to be absolutely gorgeous, as do other areas, and it would be fantastic if the upcoming graphics boost could help generate or regenerate play in areas which have fallen fallow.

All I'm going by is that the Hero Con presentation mentioned that the new ultra mode would be applied to all the zones - which could include the mission maps - but they could have used the word "Game" instead of "zones" then.

While it might not be so noticable for some misison maps, the outdoor ones would be a problem, I think - like for the Hydra dimension, or Shadowhunter's lair, that have the river in them - or the safeguard maps.
No new graphics for offices, warehouses and labs would be noticable, but way less than no new graphics on the outdoor mission maps.

New places, because the old places are still old.

They said the new shadows would not be in indoor missions for obvious reasons - the rest will still be there iirc.

What obvious reasons are those? Are you saying we got lighting and shadows, but they can only ever work with a single parallel light source and never with individual omni-directional lights? I'm not specifically asking for raytrace shadows here, but if at least regular light sources can't produce shadows and shading, then that would be a REAL let-down.

That said, I don't look forward to any place in particular. I expect the new graphics settings will make EVERYTHING look better. For what it's worth, I prefer improvements that don't rub it in my face how AWESOME the graphics are, but rather just make everything feel so nice and natural I can just take it for granted. "What do you mean it hasn't always been like this?" I don't really expect to be blown away, but I do expect to be consistently and constantly pretty pleased. And that would be a smashing success, in my eyes.

From what I know, yeah, I think that's what they said (or something along the lines of 'won't work with indoor lighting'), but I may be wrong.

Well, crap. And here I was hoping for the next best thing to dynamic lighting.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- The polished floors in Arena. Seeing our characters added to the other reflections. I love running around in there by myself for no reason other than to chase the reflections.

- The courtyards and slim pools just outside the Giza.

- SG base interiors.

- The patron room inside the Grandville Tower. It would add a layer of awe and enhance the humility to being in their collective presence.. like being in the principle's office all over again.

The irregularly shaped bloodstained glass window pieces in that room would reflect just how broken your villain really is.

All they need now is added sound when you're standing very close to receive a new task. Scorpion could emit a low grumble like he's hungry all the time, the Widow's entourage would rustle like silk, and Lord Recluse could be a heavy mouth-breather.

Actually, there's a question. Currently the "reflections" in the city hall and Arenas are not reflections at all. The floor is just translucent with the building interior upside down below that...

I wonder if they'll remove all of that to replace it an actual reflective surface.

Pretty much the whole game will look gorgeous.

Given I've just broken three years of running on minimum, straight up to Highest...I can't even begin to imagine how awesome Ultra Mode will look ^^

Actually, I'm curious how Dark Astoria would look. I wonder if the reflective technology will really enhance or hurt the look. I'm actually wondering how the "fog" will interact with reflective glass, from an in-game standpoint. It would be kind of weird if the glass buildings were highly reflective and didn't show the fog, which I think is an effect outside of physical objects. (Is that accurate?)
