Well, your suggestion looked promising, until I saw that there are 3 5 piece Panacea sets in it, plus a Brute's Fury. Since I am not looking to spend 3 to 4 billion on a build (judging by how these seem to be going on the market), those make such a build a show stopper.
I am preferring to do this build without relying on PvP IOs or attuned enhancements (don't even know how to get those other than on the market). A purple set or 2 is okay, though not required, though I would like the build plenty viable without having to wait until 50. I also want to keep the IO levels at around 30 for exemping purposes. -
Working on a Staff/Regen Brute here and have a preliminary build hashed out in Mids. I was trying to shoot for:
1 - Melee and ranged defense
2 - Recharge
3 - Regen out the wazoo
4 - Bonus HP
I feel I have the Regen and Bonus HP objectives met, but the defenses and recharge are looking rather meh.
Here is the build thus far:

Any suggestions on how to improve this? Not much experience with melee builds, only Blasters and Corruptors for the most part.

So what?
If there are still people interested in doing this, then why not continue to use the thread that was originally created for it instead of making a new one? Who gives a rat's behind if it has been months since the last post? -
Quote:The Kinetic Crashes completely nullify the KB-KD proc. I tried it on my Fire/Rad: the proc plus 4 Kinetic Crashes in Bonfire, and in the Casino mission, it was sending goons flying all over the place. Plus. not once did it KD any of the AVs. After the mission, I went to Bricks to confirm that the K-Crashes were nullifying the KD. And sure enough, the Freaks there were also getting thrown everywhere.Would that make it affect more KB-resistant foes, with the proc ensuring that they never go flying, correct?
After replacing the K-Crashes with 2 endurance reducers and 2 damages (fortunately, I had not leveled up at the time and so had not slotted the rare K-Crash), Bonfire went back to a KD power once more. -
Sooooo...
Is the weekly Fire/Rad superteam still going? If so, I was thinking it would be quite...interesting to see how kick buttish a team would be against AVs and GMs when we all put bonfire down with that new KB to KD proc slotted. If anyone would be interested in organizing this, I would be more than happy to pull Therm out of semi retirement to join in. Perhaps try it with teams of 4 on the Summer event as well? -
I am guessing that the bug is due to someone forgetting to add Universal Damage as a set type in the auction house interface. No category for it would mean no way to be able to sell it there.
We had one bug last night where our fourth member failed to load and never showed up. Thankfully, we were able to complete it anyway, both missions. Those AVs could not touch us, due to the team having some sort of Dark Defender, and a Fire/Dark Corruptor (me).
One other bug... Blasted RNG keeps refusing to give me the KB to KD enhancer (stamp!) Several of the quads, a couple Accuracy/Damages, and one of the triples. The RNG seems to hate me. -
What I would like to know is, are there any established groups that regularly run various trials and TFs with the understanding that there may still be a lot of players who may not have done a given trial or TF and would like to be able to experience it for the first time without everyone else just blasting through it without taking the time to read the storylines, and hints, and instructions and whatnot?
I felt totally useless on the LGTF I got on a couple weeks ago, since it had been so long, and the one or two other times I ran it, I never had time to figure out what to do, where to be, or even decode the various instructions the leader gave, as if he assumed everyone had done this countless times. -
Quote:I second the recommendation for Devastation. The hold proc in the set is pretty useful and reliable as icing on the cake.Another set to consider is Devastation. With Energy Manipulation getting a +Regen power I24, having extra Hit Points synergizes well with that and Devastations give a nice +HP bonus for 3 and some good +Reg for 2. 3 Devastations, 2 Entropic Chaos and 1 Thunderstrike is a good combination for someone looking for a high Regen build.
As for range, Being Energy/Energy, you already have boos range. With just one or two recharge IOs in it, you should have all the range you need (the one thing that makes all my Corruptors jealous.) -
I just discovered and ran Easton's arc in Steel and was awarded the badge for not killing whatsisname.
Now I am wondering, if I were to later flashback the arc and kill the guy to get the other badge, will I be able to keep the first badge and temp power, or are they mutually exclusive? -
My 2 questions for this...
1: Is this only a level 50 set? The screenie shown states a character must be at least level 47 to slot it. However, is that just because the one being looked at was already a level 50 instead of a lower level piece, or are they all level 50?
2: Are these only going to drop during the event's mission, or can they drop anywhere during the event? -
Wow! I can't believe it is about 2 months short of a year since I first posted this (so sorry about the necropost, but figured it best to just continue this thread instead of starting a new one).
Anyway, I have taken an interest in Honey-Bree again, and have since pushed her to 50 and even unlocked her Alpha, with a Tier 3 Musculature, and going ahead and making Agilities as well (may as well. What else am I going to do with these shards that are racking up?)
So anyway, here is my next attempt at a good all around build for her (had to replace 2 Crushing Impact sets with 2 Mako's Chomp sets, since it bugged me to see 2 5% recharge bonuses going to waste). I hope I'm posting this correctly, since it has been so long...

The key things I have here now are:
62.2% Ranged Defense
44.0 AOE Defense
40.9% Melee Defense
Pretty decent looking Regen and Endurance Recovery
55% Recharge
58% Accuracy
14% Damage bonus (not taking Musculature into account even)
I'm still keeping Aid Self 6 slotted with Numinas, as the additional ranged defense for me is more important than having the unique perma in Health. A couple other slots can be moved elsewhere if needed (the third recharge in Elude, since it isn't perma anyway, and perhaps the third slot in Health with the generic Heal IO), but I couldn't think of anything else that really needed those slots, so that is where they got plunked.
And here is the Hooman readable version of the build, with all the total yaddayaddas tacked on at the end:

Quote:Actually, if you want ultimate DDR, you get a Wii and Hottest Party 3If you want ultimate DDR, you play SR. If you want to sacrifice DDR for damage you play Shields. If you want to be pretty with still even less DDR, you play EA.

My Fire Melee/Electric Armor/Blaze Mastery Scrapper just hit level 32 on SOs, and now it is time to give her a proper planning for IO sets. This one is proving to be tricky for me, and I am not 100% certain what I should strive for. My initial thought is to try to build up her various resistances, and with the current tentative plan I have hashed out, I've only been able to achieve the following resistance values:
S/L: 51.8%
Fire: 36.7%
Cold: 41.7%
Energy: 75%
Negative: 30.7%
Toxic: a measly 5%
Psionic: 50.8%
These were managed without gimping damage or accuracy, and on top of it all, I've managed 17% in endurance recovery bonuses (Hopefully this is enough to allow her to take something other than Cardiac as her Alpha when incarnate time comes), and some decent recharge.
However, defense is still completely insignificant: 3.8% Psi, 1.9% AOE, .9 Fire/Cold, and all the rest 0.
Am I heading in the wrong direction trying for resistance? Are those resistance values enough without a defense layer in front of them, or are they useless due to not being near the max (other than Energy)?
She is taking everything in her primary and secondary except Breath of Fire (due to not being able to customize it for the casting animation like Fire Breath), Confront (not a tank, so not the primary aggro magnet on teams), and Lightning Field (again, not a tank, and uses far too much endurance for the little amount of damage it does.)
For pool powers, she has Hasten, Super Speed (stacks nicely with the stealth IO in one of her prestige sprints), Boxing (as the prereq for Tough), Tough, and Combat Jumping (because with just Hurdle, her battlefield mobility just felt way too sluggish).
Only other aspect of this initial plan I am uncertain about is whether or not having each of the three shields plus Tough only 2 slotted with Impervium Armors (Resistance / Resistance/Endurance) for the recovery bonuses is right, or if I need to try to work a third slot into each?
Oh, and one other thing... Should Power Surge be taken as soon as it comes up, or is it safe to put it off until late in the build? At the moment, I show it being taken at 38. Power Sink is at 50. Should I swap those 2 around and take Power Sink at 38 instead? (35 is where I take Char, and it is being 6 slotted with Ghost Widow's Embrace.) -

Quote:That's just the Story Arcs. Most of the older lower level contacts don't have story arcs, just a random collection of missions. Actually, that page hasn't been updated to include any of the new story arcs.
Except for Kheldians, plus Wincott and Flux, there were no story arcs in the 5-9 range. The only mission in that range that would be available via flashback (aside from Wincott and Flux) is the Negotiator badge mission, which was assigned by Kord, Dempsey, and Feldon. -
Quote:Not entirely true.
Under New York State law customers have to provide proof a pet is "unfit for purchase" as diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian in order to get a refund. The have 14 days to take the animal to a Vet to get the document and then have to give it to the store/breeder within 3 days of getting the document from the Vet.
They just can't simply demand a refund and get it.
Why am I getting the sinking feeling that this thread is about to break down into a long string of Monty Python quotes? -
Quote:Delightful combo...Does anyone have any positive experiences soloing a Fire/Dark corruptor? I'm thinking of rolling one based on a concept and would like to get a sense of the difficulties I would be signing up for. The concept would ultimately add Mu Mastery.
Care Bear Stare / Tar Patch / Aim / Rain of Fire / Fire Breath / Fire Ball / Move on to next group. This turns the cramped confines of Orenbega into Murderworld.
And a Fire/Dark duo is even more wonderful. -
Quote:Performance Shifter: Chance for +Endurance - Level 21. Cost is 1 alignment merit. You should be able to get around 150,000,000 to 200,000,000 for it.There's a couple of the Kinetic Combat IO's that cost 1 merit and are selling in the 60-90 million range... or were a few days ago anyway. That may be a good option and it'll end up roughly the same as simply buying a level 25 LotG def/+7.5% recharge... Those have been hovering between 100-150 million for some time now.
That is for a crafted one, instead of the raw recipe. -
Am I missing a setting here somewhere? It appears that ears can no longer be colored anything other than whatever is set as the skin color:
On the above character, the ears are supposed to be red, but instead they were changed to white.
There is a color setting specifically for ears, but it is simply not working. Strange as this may sound, this is ruining quite a few characters of mine, in that they can now never make any new costumes or edit any current costumes without ear color being changed on them.
Is there another setting somewhere that enables this, or is it just yet another bug that has little chance of being fixed? -
Quote:This was rather bizarre. I briefly experienced this bug myself. Both my Beam Rifle characters on Exalted were locked out. However, my Beamer on Justice was not. So, thinking this may be similar to that bug back in the day where EATs were locked out until a level 50 was logged back in to reset the epic bit, I logged my Justice Beamer in, then logged back out.My apologies you're experiencing this.
If you haven't already, please file a petition regarding this so that CS can investigate and address the issue. At a glance, I'm not seeing widespread reports of the issue, so my suspicion is that this might be something specific to your account.
When I went back to Exalted, both previously locked characters were available to me again.
Hope this additional bit of information helps the devs track down and fix this bug. -
Quote:The team I led on a hero tips run on Exalted last night would like to have a word with you. (Amazingly, the team actually filled up pretty fast within a couple minutes after I announced "Level 33 hero tips team has room for 7" in local broadcast and Exalted-United, and I had to turn a couple away due to lack of room.) It was amazing because it was on a Thursday night, fairly late. So, what's the point of having anything in this game besides the sewer trial, since that's almost the only thing people are doing most of the time?
And after that, I alted and quickly got onto someone else's tips team. So it isn't all just sewer trials after all. -
I'm not in game at the moment, so I can't have a look to refresh my memory. However, I think they may have been inspired by and modeled after the Boeing CH47 Chinook: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_CH-47_Chinook

Anyway, right there are 5 new dance emotes we desperately need (as well the dance moves from Charlie Brown Christmas.) -
When I am on a character that is level 40 or above (any character actually, not just high levels) and am actually feeling like attempting to form a team, I will actively try to recruit non incarnates (even teens and 20-somethings. It's all good).
And I will usually announce the formation of the team with something like "Level 40 (hero tips/radio missions/arc missions/whatever) team has room for 7. All ATs and level ranges welcome."
I will do that in Broadcast and then the various global teaming channels. But ultimately, I either end up soloing or logging off and going off to play an actual single player game on one of my consoles, when there are no takers whatsoever and it seems all the teams are newbie sewer runs or Incarnate Trials, or yet another Speed ITF.
