Discussion: Updating Status of Live Issues - 11/14/2011

I've got an update about some of the live issues we're currently following up on. We have great news and not as great news (depending on your perspective...I know that some of you will be stoked about the not as great news).

First the good news! With tomorrow's build (we'll have patch notes up tomorrow, or you can check out the beta notes) several issue introduced in last Thursday's patch will be resolved:

  • Resetting UI bug corrected.
  • ATI/AMD Driver Lock out issue resolved.
  • Organic Armor will glow again.
  • Vanessa DeVore will once again leave the day to day missions to her underlings.
  • The Mission Architect rating window should once again function properly.
  • Manticore's Poison Gas Arrow will stop preventing Villains from completing SSA Chapter 3.
And now for the not-as-great-but-hey-maybe-it's-something-that-floats-your-boat-who-knows-we're-not-judging:
  • The issue which was causing VG Bases to attack players has spread via the Paragon City internet to SG bases, causing Hero side bases with defensive objects to be...defensive...against Heros. Note, this isn't live yet, however it will start happening after tomorrow's publish. So please, if you don't want your base attacking you, remove these defensive objects from your base. While I know that some of you will enjoy this bug, there will be some who do not appreciate the sudden base related aggression. To those who may be upset by this development, we sincerely apologize.
We're working on publishing a fix for this issue ASAP, however please be aware that this may persist through the holiday weekend.

Thanks for bearing with us as we work through these live issues.

So we're getting something nice in the store tomorrow then?

*sigh* If only I had the prestige I'd setup a bunch of weapons near my base entrance and fight my way through them. Well I think I've got 100K or so, I can put a few things up at least and at least move the other defense items I have into better positions.

Since I didn't see it mentioned, I guess we're stuck with the knockback bug? (or should I say "lack of knockback" bug)

Apologies for not mentioning it in the OP.

We're still investigating it, but the current theory is that an update with the PhysX code is the culprit in this particular issue. Again, we're still digging through the code, so nothing concrete yet, but that's our current suspicion.

Will the market be updating after the publish, Zwill? Or will it update randomly as tomorrow comes around?

Obviously this confirms that devs hate heroes.

But on a more positive note...

Hooray for the fixes!

So we're getting a Great Dane dog pet tomorrow?

Or a Mystery Machine travel power?

No, we'll have random teenagers and monsters running around in and out of mission doors. It'll be like halloween only there's no treats and the monsters turn out to be guys in rubber masks

Would that also be the reason some of us are seeing very odd ragdolling of enemies? Things like heads and torsos twisting 180 when defeated and constant spasming and writhing until they fade out. Don't get me wrong, it is sort of funny, but it makes enemies look like they're made out of half inflated garbage bags about to blow away on a breeze.

Not sure.

Maybe it's a new Super Powered Pilates?

(I'll be sure to pass this along, in case it's not already reported by QA).

Mind passing along that no one likes pre-tinting on costume options?

Don't worry, I still consider it less a bug a more a feature!

Though I'm a little bummed tomorrow's market update is the dog pet and not Titan Weapons, at least I can go to town weaponizing my base.

Could be. Healix started a thread about it in the Bugs forums with pictures here. Thanks.

What about the KB bug? I know many don't like it but many do - I'll enjoy it staying around a bit longer.

Man, I'm gonna miss that sucker when it's gone...

Z has said they are investigating it - right now they think it's the PhysX update.
