Thanks. I'll try that now.

Also keep in mind that costume items bought from the cash shop are PER CHARACTER.

Which is tangentally related.

I believe that these were preorder bonuses, as I don't have those benefits either.

Not buying anything else from the "store" just picking up the items that are part of the packs/game I bought today.

Ah, that explains a lot.

And they could have done a lot better job of explaining that to avoid confusion.

And thanks to Morbid and Sunrunner for answering my questions and repeating the answer when it didn't sink in the first time.

To your credit, Forbin... the UI in the game really is hard to get used to. I hope they streamline it a bit.

I do not find it that bad, the menu options on the top right corner, have all the selection and the key shortcuts, I did rebind the tell reply to the back space key tho

The menu is fine... it's some of the other things that are odd.

You can't move around your powers unless you have the Ability Wheel open. Sometimes dialogue options will go off the screen... until you realize that moving away from the contact will shrink them! That really confused me at first. I would have never expected the Character Sheet to contain costume options... changing the gender of my character during creation necessitates I look in the upper left... which is in NO way close to any of the other customization options. Etc.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't a horrible interface, it just takes time to make sense of coming from this game. For what it's worth, I had issues making sense of the UI in SWTOR as well, and I haven't heard anyone else complain about it.

Seriously, this is probably the most content filled, spatially large zone I've ever seen in an MMO.

You could fit, like, five other MMOs in this map.
And then you get to City of the Sun God and go "of all the things to copy from City of Heroes, why oh why did it have to be pre-revamp Faultline??"

City of the Sun God is nowhere near as bad as Faultline. Of course, I did find myself setting waypoints along routes so I knew I was going in the right direction. Even so, getting around hasn't been too bad. There's always a path, it just sometimes takes a bit of work to find it.

Don't get me wrong. I know where the problem lies.

1.) I've been playing this game for 8 1/2 years and this UI is so deeply ingrained I don't even think about what I'm doing.

2.) I'm old. Change does not come easy for me. So learning a new UI is very frustrating. And if I'm anything like my parents, it's gonna get worse an worse.

Just downloading this game to try now.

In case I really like it, getting it on sale would be preferred for me and my wife .

We'll see. My computer is actually under the min specs, so we'll see if it'll even run. Not going to upgrade for a game, although I would do so to keep City of Heroes.

Snipped a lot.
Used to be that when you went to the "Buy" screen at their website it gave you the option to get one of those packs, but now it's just a straight "buy" for 49.99. Can you upgrade to these packs in game anywhere or are we spit out of luck?

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

It wouldn't show me the account upgrade packs until after I bought the game.

I'm guessing that it's to prevent people from buying the packs without having an account to apply them to first.

But that's just a guess.

You have to sign up to the forums from your account page, not the forums itself. Also you need to wait around 30 minutes for the change to take.

Yes, you can upgrade your account (after it becomes active) to the Initiate, Master, or Grand Master pack (Master is included in the Grand Master, but Initiate isn't). The button is on your Secret World account page, and that is also where you would buy additional character slots.

It isn't showing the Grand Master Pack or Master Pack because I already have them.

From a professional standpoint, I have problems with some of the interface ("Exit" button right next to "repair" button in dungeon maps, and same dialog choice when used).

You misspelled tangentially and "Which is tangentally related" is an incomplete sentence.

It certainly LOOKS like that's where the scene is going. But given that the character lies back and is dumped directly into the Tokyo flashback she's probably just casting a spell on you.

Of course, maybe it IS what it looks like and that's, um, how she works her magic. While creepy tattoo guy watches.

You're Forbin_Project*?

Huh. Learn something new every day.

*I looked at the person Thirty-Seven was quoting. It's not you, so I don't know why you're getting your panties in a twist.

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...294453&page=12.

Thirty-Seven knows why.

I looked at the person (replace Thirty-Seven with I) was quoting. It's not you, so I don't know why you're getting your panties in a twist. And what you said is what I was thinking when he did it to me. Just got tired of his nonsense so I struck back finally.

On another note if pointing out other people's mistakes is getting the panties in a bunch, it seemed no one thought that when people was pointing out my mistakes, even the most minor ones. But then when I do it, oh I'm the one with my panties in a bunch.
