TSW refugee migration
You don't have to, you can team cross-faction no problem. The things that faction determine right now is PvP (you can only fight for your own side) and guild memberships (you can't have cross-faction guilds at this point). If either of those are important to you, you might want to consider joining the same faction. Otherwise, you'll be fine.

Played for a few minutes this morning and liked what I saw. Chargen had a decent amount of options. Not as many as CoH or CO, but then again I don't expect any other mmo to be like that. The intro cut scenes were nice, though maybe a little long. I got about 1/2 of a combat in and that seemed pretty good. Hopefully I'll get more time tonight to play.
But still I fear and still I dare not laugh at the madman!

Guess I should make a show of face here.
I've been quite involved in TSW since closed beta, and maintain a lifer account there. 'course, since the COH sunset announcement, I've been focusing on showing face here the most.
I'm on Arcadia server, with my primary in the Illuminati, named (you guessed it) Turgenev. He's not as developed as some of the people I run with (he's around 12% through his skills wheel, as opposed to some people who're already 80%), but he's mine, and "feels" like my COH main.
Look me up if you have a COH-built Illuminati crew, I'll hop in and run with y'all.

Turg Fiction: IX is now LIVE on Architect Entertainment!
Thanks. I'm determined to stay here until the end, and Dec is usually a "low online time" for me, but after that I'll do the trial on our lower-end PC (we might be due some cheap Christmas upgrades) and see how well it plays.

I got to play a bit more last night and learned a few things:
- You can go into the Crucible a second time to get your second weapon.
- Zombies run
- Having 1-2 AoEs is important.
- I may have to buy this game.
But still I fear and still I dare not laugh at the madman!

Buzz buzz.
Right now I'm playing a Pistol/Chaos Templar. Like the combo so far. My altoholism is kicking in, though, and I want to go through the intros to the other factions.

Looking for advice. I have 10 SP and 40+ AP to spend and I'm not sure what to unlock next. I'm running a Shotgun/Assault Rifle Dragon with all the basic powers unlocked. hould I continue unlocking the outer circle or start something in melee or magic. If so which would be the best choice?
All opinions appreciated

I downloaded the free trial a day ago and I like it so far. I LOVE the present cultural references and the voice dialog. I also like that I was able to customize my power/move keys to the same keys I used in CoX Makes it for an easier transition. I am starting to understand the mechanics of using powers, building up crits and why some powers are usable and some aren't. I think, right now, my hardest thing to get used to is line of sight which is a little different from CoX. I miss the auto face opponent, but I'll get it down.
I am getting the hang of it... I am playing an elemental Illuminati at the moment.. I picked up a shot gun, but I can't seem to use it... Do I need to spend an AP point or skill point in order to use it?
I'm still in zombie town.. going to investigate the ship. I have had some fun running around learning the story and lore. It seems well written. I appreciate the missions/side missions and the journal. I think the graphics, so far, are pretty good and it's not as bloody as I was worried it would be. (I don't like gross games)
I will probably buy it tomorrow when the trial runs out. So far is seems very solo friendly.. which I like/want.

IE: a QL1 weapon is SP 1 in either of the shotgun slots. and you also need some of the shotgun PA's unlocked so you have the powers to use it.

Or, if you're tired of it you could start digging into something else that sounds interesting. Personally, I think you can't do wrong with starting off with unlocking all inner-wheel skills for all weapons. There are some really nice stuff in the outer wheel, but it's not essential for a solid build through most of the game, and later you will earn enough AP that starting on those skills doesn't feel like such a huge deal. Also, you get a snazzy chest piece. But, again, depend on what you hope to get out of it.
I was originally running chaos/shotgun, and felt I was lacking a solid AoE finisher, so I went deep into shotgun for the Shotgun Wedding skill, which is an absolute riot.

tried the game
love the game
so far i am playing the game and not found time to RP much at all
so.. any UK time zone friendly cabals around ??
That depends a lot on playstyle. Do you like your current build? Do you feel you are missing something? Then you might start looking into the outer wheel skills for shotgun and assault rifle to see if there's anything that would support your current build, or cover a weakness in your current build.

Not sure I care about new costume piece for this character as I'm pretty satisfied with what he's got on now.
I decided to unlock the rest if the inner wheel. I love Shotgun but the Rifle is leaving me feeling like I'm not performng at my full potential. I'll experiment and see what happens with Melee and Magic.

Hey all. After reading these posts and checking the TSW website, I'm downloading the game even as we speak. I need something new to try...your comments have helped drift me towards TSW. Download should be done soon, so I hope to see some of you out there. It feels...so weird...like I'm moving to a new state or something.
Anyway. Off we go.
