Good thing.... I would hate to read what your infinite wisdom would be if you WERE trying to be a jerk.
  3. In my case, yes, I have cut scene bombed that scene.. twice.. both times I had died and just made it back into the compound right before it started.

I actually think that during that part of the trial, I would have been better off staying outside and waiting for the cut scene considering the amount of times I would die because all you uber tanks ran off and left the squishies to fend for themselves..

  5. I emailed one of my friends to ask if he read this list and he told me he did and found it interesting. He related a story that in game that night, someone came into chat b!tching up a storm that he was labeled as a whiner by SHamster. Every new person that came into the channel was informed by him about what SHamster did... my friend thought 'Dude, you're proving his point...'
  6. I feel very lucky.. I came away unscathed... Some of the notes are hysterical and just re-enforce why you either like him or hate him.. and sometimes both

That thought will now make me enjoy fighting them more

There really should be a minor stun when they do that... it would be funny to watch those mouse-moth things wobble a little as they regain their senses.

Ak'ab are very easy to fight if you stand with your back to a tree, wall, etc. It totally negates their charge attack.

There are lots of other cool nasties out there waiting for you... but Solomon Isle isn't just Zombies. There's this huge squid like thing that has had all of it's tentacles chopped off... there's animated salvage monsters.. and things in the woods that run on all fours... very creepy!

And just wait for the Ak'abs.. they look like a cross between mice and moths.. and they're particularly nasty.

I'd like that, too, but I thought that not having one isn't that bad either from an 'RP' standpoint. My main is a Lumie and I have a great cabal. If I decide to play either my Templar or Dragon, I won't feel like I am cheating on my fellow Lumies because they can't see I am playing for the other team(s).

But then again, I've been playing for the other team all my life.

Wow... The river and the waterfall pics are the best. I love the picture of Hami on the waterfall ledge with no one else in the shot. Makes me think of Evita Peron for some reason.

I just [get] no joy from being in-game. My mind keeps saying, "You know, you have other things to do that won't vaporize in a few weeks." Does anyone else experience this?
I feel this way as well. I log in every now and then to see if friends are on, but I don't play. I do know I will be spending the last night in game until it gets shut off, but for now, I just have another game I am playing that I am making progress in.

It's sad because I REALLY wanted to see my nature character get the high level powers, but I just have no desire to work that hard for it knowing it's for naught.
  13. I've tried both on PC... DCUO when it first came out and CO just recently to see if it was worth anything...

DCUO was throwing $60 down the toilet... thankfully CO was a free trial.

DCUO gets a 10 for visuals, but a 2.5 maybe a 3 for game play. Movement was a nightmare. Torturous doesn't even begin to describe anything but running. Forced PvP - just no. It is SO easy to get lost in that game. I had to go to the space station and never was able to leave. Every character's power tree is the same.. just a different name/visual for the powers. I lasted about 2 weeks.

CO just plain sucks. Everything about it sucks. For me, it doesn't even rate a 2. Movement - awful, game play - awful, graphics - abysmal, missions - dreadful. I lasted 2 days.

I knew, going in, that neither game was CoX and I wasn't expecting them to be... but even knowing that, they're still horrid.

I went to The Secret World. Left the comic book/superhero world behind.

You've clearly never had to put up with Shamster, regardless of AT. He plays them all the same way. He can get aggro with mindless button smashing after he's run off to large groups away from the team; if he isn't insta-gibbed (which he generally is), he'll limply bring them back to the group and either die anyway or suck down all inspirs he has to repeat the same mindlessness. But retaining aggro / taking aggro is not his forte (4Chan linking takes that spot). And he primarily teams.
Confession... after teaming with Shamster one night, he pi**ed me off so badly that for months, whenever I teamed with him again, I would never heal or buff him. I secretly enjoyed watching him faceplant when he did.

Right... I worded it wrong.. I meant as soon as control is passed back to you (meaning you are able to pick up the gun, not that you had to). I thought when I had done it, I couldn't move for a few seconds due to the cut scene.

    Funniest moments

Has to be something I was told and wished I had seen it. I was at the after hours dance party at Comic Con talk to Blue Steel about the game. He related a story about a bug they once had that is too funny not to share.

It appears that there was a mission where you were supposed to save a hostage. However, the hostage turned out to be a filing cabinet. When you saved it, the filing cabinet thanked you and then ran away.

(He related another story that I did get to experience.. It was the desk of 10,000 hp. It took FOREVER to destroy.)

There's a note flashed on the screen when the cutscene first starts.. it's VERY easy to miss.

As soon as you are able to pick up the gun, you can turn around and walk up the stairs and leave the whole thing.

Did you try turning around and going up the steps? That's how you skip the mission when it first starts...

FYI, I solved that by recording the audio and loading it into an editing program so I could actually see the waveform and read off the dots and dashes. This ended up being faster than my brother replaying the signal and getting each letter by ear one at a time. You really need to think outside the box for these puzzles.
Just wait until you get to the Motel on the Savage Coast and choose the Hell and Bach mission.. not only is it a b*tch to solve, the first puzzle is bugged and you have to enter the answer a bajillion times for it to register.

But the puzzles ARE clever and well thought out... all I can say is thank the stars for Google.....

Odd.. I saw the Archivist run down the hall, I went to chase him, but couldn't find him again. I just left.

Last night for the bit of time I had to check I was getting framerates of 29 - 32 with the occasional slowdown to 15. I'll have to give this a longer term run and maybe I can bump one or the other up a notch but thank you very much for the specific slider adjustments that I had missed.

I do like TSW and what was keeping me from enjoying it was the bad framerates and lockups in combat.
This is going to sound really 'newb' but it was something I didn't think of until a few nights ago. I was having slow downs and freezes, too. If I had to alt tab to another window, when I came back, my monitor wouldn't work. (I am on a laptop). Then I did something that just made me face palm that I didn't think of it earlier:

Under video settings, I changed the resolution to match my desktop. I haven't had an issue since then... and the game looks AMAZING! I have more real estate on my game screen, too... the only down side is the chat font, even at it's large setting.. is still tiny.
  25. I just joined up on Wednesday and I already have a cabal on Daemon. Last night, the leader and his wife took myself and another new player through Polaris. It was REALLY cool.

I had no problem finding a cabal using the cabal section of the forums and doing a little research. My cabal is Death Incarnate Inc and they're very friendly and willing to help. I haven't asked for help because I am enjoying the soloing aspect of the game.

I just hit the savage coast after about a week plus of playing. I am taking my time. There really is some awesome writing in the game. I am and am not looking forward to the dead amusement park.

I was having some tech issues with the game as I am on a 2 year old laptop, but I dropped the directx from 11 to 9 and my graphics to mid level and things are much better.

BTW, they some AWESOME emotes... try /tapdance /snapsnaphoney /runningman and /cartwheel
