Speaking of Baalah, I'm surprised almost no one ever got the reference whenever I played her.



One person did, in fact, know where I got the name from. She thought it was pretty cool.

ok..I confess I bought these just because they look like inspirations.

Other random confessions:

On any given day, my body temperature measures 96.8

On any given day, my property looks like the opening of most Disney cartoons with all the deer, birds, rabbits, occasional fox, raccoons, and lizards that scurry around anytime someone goes outside.

Hmmmm...

Ok, very shortly after Faultline was revamped I was exploring it and found a hole in the geometry that led to a hidden canyon/cavern and another in the back corner of that area that let you get under the map. I reported it multiple times but it didn't get closed off for a couple years. So soon as I would hit level 10 on any character I would head to Faultline, get under the map and fly to Yins then load up on Talismans for myself and to hand out to other random people.

If you were ever a low level character hanging out in Croatoa and suddenly had a Redcap leave it's group and charge straight at you... a Redcap that you couldn't target...that was probably me. Well not me so much as my non combat Redcap pet. I used to fly high overhead and watch for low levels trading in Halloween salvage or just exploring the area. Then I would fly directly over them and my pet which was of course stuck on the ground would run right up.

I like to make jokey homage toons.

Really AWFUL ones.



(I thought of adding a Mojo Jojo villain to be her counterpart, but it didn't really work all that well and I never went through with the idea)

My confession concerning the next one? Is that this is the VERY FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF when wings came out! And the idea would NOT leave me alone until I made it!

I designed costumes for the entire team of Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets/Eagle Riders/ etc.)













And their nemesis - Berg Katse! (Zoltar)










Samus (which later became a blaster named Startracker Zero - see below)





And this last one - I roped a bunch of friends together into doing this one with me.






So that's my "secret" shame. And the only one I ever got busted on was the Metroid Homage. So I just shrugged and moved on, renaming her "Startracker Zero" which is a slightly more oblique reference to the same series, and she made level 50 within the last year!

Thank you so much, devs, for THE most robust character design tool ever - even if some of us can't resist putting it to "questionable" use sometimes.

I would have been tempted to do a street fighting brute named Chinese Stig and just go around beating up random people.

I have a swimmer's body and the pictures to prove it.

I had already seen the Mythbuster homages in another thread, but those others are really great.

Was reminded of this last night, in play:

The very first time I fought and defeated a Clockwork Prince was on a defender, solo, and I was pretty deep in the orange if not red when I finally put it down. And so when it unexpectedly spawned a clutch of Gears, which promptly began zapping me, I distinctly recall saying in a mix of terror and delight:
"OMG, it had KITTENS!"

I farmed PVP drops in Bloody Bay on Liberty. I was onver near the villain base but all the AFK farm killers swore I had moved to Justice for some reason. I even ran in to a few of them as I was leaving BB, I guess they just assumed I was getting Shivans.

I found a bug that let a lvl 1 be lvl 49 in PI without a team.

Basically, invite the lvl 1 while you are on a 50. Get them into a mission in PI. Quit out of the game, at the 3 second mark on your 60 second quit out of game timer, the lvl 1 should exit the mission. The level one will then be level 49 in PI until they die or zone somewhere else, or actually level.

Another confession from me...

For years, I've gotten confused when I see that the forum handle, Eldritch_Knight has just posted something, as I mistake it for my forum handle.

I confess that I always hated killing Captain Castillo because.....he was so darned cute.

I just found out that it's not "Misinformed Squirrel"...

I always miss-read "Entrusted with a Secret" as "Encrusted with a Secret" when I get the badge...

Oh, and when we're on mis-reading names:
When I first bought CoH, I do what I always do; open it up in the bathroom and read the manual when using the facilities. Mainly a quick read through for the initial play and then go back if there's any questions while in game.

You know how there were little "Statesman's Tips" in the margins of the manual? Well, for the first four months of playing, I thought his name was "Statsman." Because he was giving game stats in the manual.
