This would be a good idea, actually. That, and making sure the sounds are subtle and appropriate. Like you can hear the low rumble of the chainsaw if you zoom right up to your character, but if the camera's a few yards away it's barely noticeable.

I doubt it'll get added, and I couldn't care that much either way, but it's something to consider playing with in the future.

You might as well as for one version with a combat aura that drops limbs randomly upon hits.

Are there plans for the Chainsaw to be ported to Broadsword, Katana, and Dual Blades the same way the beam swords in the Mecha costume set were?

Seeing that big blade, I'm wondering if Dink can do up a variant that puts a stenciled "CHUNQSVARNA" logo on the big open space inside the rotating chains, as a parody nod to "Husqvarna" chainsaws (the LART of choice for BOFHes everywhere!) in the traditional fashion of Japanese Anime deliberately misspelling the names and logos of well known products for parody purposes (ask Black Pebble about this).

You can even record it for the proper noise.

Looking great Dink, love the cape

I can think of a few uses for a chainsaw claw too, especially in a Flat Blade style, even for an existing character, a Freak Tank with various medical apparatus installed into his armour, currently a Claws/Inv Brute with a flat blade 'scalpel' though a chainsaw would be oh so awesomely fitting ^^ If you have the time to put something like that together, it'd be amazing!


I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

A silent chainsaw seems really odd to me too. I can't imagine anyone thinking "I want to chop people up with a chainsaw, BUT I DON'T WANT ANY CHAINSAW NOISES!"

But if it's enough of a concern, why not just put the chainsaw on the list twice: "Chainsaw" and "Chainsaw (no SFX)"?

The 'no SFX' option would only solve the issue if the 'SFX' option itself was only heard by the player who selected it.

Mind you, I'm personally all for a team of 8 characters creating a cacophonic chorus with their chainsawds of DOOM.

Then they can turn off their sound.

We already have loads of noises in the game, including Goth Lassie. This won't be worse than that.

Also it is possible to remove specific sound files.

We've already been told "No" to clean versions of the mask, pads, pants, etc. I suspect the same answer will be given here.
