No need to add the @ stuff to your message. That's only used to draw attention of the user after the "@", that someone is mentioning their user name in a post. Frequently used to carry on conversation strings for a specific set of users.
If someone re-tweets one of your posts, you can find out by clicking your interactions tab (the @ button at the top left menu area of the screen, between the Home and the #Discover items). That will bring up a screen that shows all the recent @mentions of your username, any folks who recently followed you, and retweets of your stuff.

I should leave this to the professionals. Having never really used Twitter, I couldn't understand why neither the website nor my phone were refreshing. I tried my very first Retweet (I kept clicking and nothing was happening) when my nearly brand new iPhone slipped, hit a metal file cabinet and ricocheted into a computer tower (also metal.)
It was the most exciting slow motion moment of my life. I'm not sure whether to thank Kate Spade for her cover or Apple for making such a durable little phone but... never again. Ok, well maybe if there's more Tweet day promos.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all of your Twitter help. No message yet, but I feel like I know what I'm doing better thanks to all of you and that's worth it

However:
If you look at the Tweet Code Thursday tweet we were supposed to Retweet, it shows I retweeted it. Unfortunately, it doesn't show that I RT'd before I got Samuraiko's RT.
Seems to still have some issues to work out.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

2) Re-Tweeted post when it appeared
3) Received Tweet to tell me I'd be getting my code as a Private Message thru Twitter
4) Read Tweet saying codes would be going out soon
5) Received code! Experienced tiny spark of hope and optimism
6) Logged into game, went to Market... entered code exactly as given... aaaaand...
"The code you have entered is not valid"
So, I guess... yeah. Whatever. Don't know what to say.

I didn't realize Twitter worked this way, but it makes a lot of sense, since it keeps people from getting spammed with 50 retweets of the same message.
Samuraiko did a manual retweet by copy-and-pasting, adding some text of her own, and that will show up for everyone who follows her.

Also, just noticed a Twitter update that codes are still being sent. Probably won't take all day to do them all, but it sounds like the response was bigger than they expected.

6) Logged into game, went to Market...
7) Click on "Account" at the top of the Market Window.
8) Enter NCsoft Master Account Password.
9) Click on "Redeem code"
10) Exit to the Login Screen, re-enter the game.
11) Go to any tailor screen and under Auras find the new aura & apply.
12) Profit?

There's something major broke in the Twitter interface, Justice. It didn't show me either, but I just got the code response a few seconds ago. The icons on the original message show over 200 folks retweeted it (I suspect that's "light" as well), but the #Cityofheroes search doesn't return anywhere near that result.
I've seen this happen rather frequently, where posts I know I've made disappear from the main twitter stream but I can still see them in my list of personal tweets, and where posts from folks I follow also disappear, but can still be found on their profile page.
Hopefully you'll get your code soon, and Twitters flaky web code won't be a problem for this event.

So actually got the start message and the one 10 mins later saying the codes were coming soon. After nearly an hour with no sign of a DM (remembering I am clueless about Twitter) I was idly clicking on the various icons and opened up my profile page. There in the lists and bolded was a new DM notification. It was my code.
If you have not yet checked that location do so now as it might be waiting for you as well. Fingers crossed.
Now to go input it into my account.
