Eisenzahn's post is the only way I would have known the date changed. I understand that things happen and dates change but please post a new thread advising such next time (posting both a new thread and listing an update at the top of the old thread would cover both bases). I don't usually go back to original posts and it doesn't indicate that the date had changed.
  2. Unless I am mistaken, they are the only two Giant Monsters not listed in the Hero Zone Event Messages channel. Even the lake monster has a spawn advisory.
  3. Suggestions for both sides:

Fellow code-hunters: stick a post-it note halfway down the previous image - right underneath a code. When hitting refresh, it helps you focus on the next code laying at about the same spot. I'm a slow typer and have poor vision. I was able to read the code to myself aloud and slowly type in one letter/number at a time. Code obtained in one of the first batches.

NCsoft: Use the Paragon in-game Store for a day. Keep shooting us fun and informative facts about NCsoft. Encourage us to retweet what interests us and sign up friends through the week. No need to pm us codes and no need to have us scramble in minutes to get a first code code - enough combined retweets and/or new followers by Thursday and you'll list the code's item (ex: dot aura) free on the Market for a 24 hour period.
  4. Hit Streak and Zwillinger, thank you so so so much for giving us this second opportunity.
  5. I should leave this to the professionals. Having never really used Twitter, I couldn't understand why neither the website nor my phone were refreshing. I tried my very first Retweet (I kept clicking and nothing was happening) when my nearly brand new iPhone slipped, hit a metal file cabinet and ricocheted into a computer tower (also metal.)

It was the most exciting slow motion moment of my life. I'm not sure whether to thank Kate Spade for her cover or Apple for making such a durable little phone but... never again. Ok, well maybe if there's more Tweet day promos.
  6. Five successful runs I've been on were all ground and pound.
  7. For anniversary badges which players/their accounts/specific or all characters missed, consider the option of a flashback alternative badge. For example, if you missed this year's Rhapsodic (8 years), as many characters as you wish could run a simple one mission arc in which they may not have lived in Paragon at the time but could travel back to experience the fight against Nemesis thereby earning a commendation medal equivalent to but not necessarily named the same as Rhapsodic.

I've seen arguements of why not to reissue, sell, or retro the original anniversary badges. I disagree so this suggestion is presented as an opportunity for the badge community who are missing some or all of the anniversary badges.

Right now, in game, there are already "either/or" badges. One can only earn one of the four patron badges - not all four. There are two Halloween badges, Meticulous and Arriveste, which replace one another depending on which the player chooses.

This alternative to missing anniversary badges would not be in addition to existing anniversary badges. Just an option to earn a void for some badger's collections. From original villain AT badge characters (who will forever fall short the 1st year anniversary badge as City of Villains came much later) to those who purchased the game three years in and those who logged in two characters but not all 36 one year*, there's different reasons why someone would have easily missed an anniversary. It'd be nice to provide them all an opportunity to feel "complete" in their endeavors.

*making anniversary badges global would be great for everyone. Not having to log in each character. Though, please consider those who purchased the game more recently and missed a few years.

There are badges (other than annivesary) that would also benefit from an "earned" alternative. Right now, Villainside has a badge that can be botched and lost forever - Efficiency Expert. I've wondered if anyone has ever lost connection or simply been frazzled and screwed up. In any case, that badge is not available in Ouros for as a "do over".

Passport is another badge that would be nice to earn an alternative for. It took a lot for someone to leave their community behind to jump servers back then so I wouldn't want to diminish the meaning of "Passport" above some characters heads by making the badge available to all. Again, just an opportunity for anyone to earn an alternative badge with a similiarly themed mission/arc.

There are badges that I don't think should qualify for an "earned" alternative. I don't think it'd be fair to make a special arc for Bug Hunter. Technically, as long as their are bugs, there is opportunity to earn that badge. That race is ever present, ever possible to win. Providing an alternative would remove the incentive to work for its counterpart.

Is this just about badge count? Yes and no. No, because I'm fairly certain most badgers would jump to get Bug Hunter but I'm not advocating an alternative to it. Yes, because, I really do know people who've gotten upset over the prospect of "one less badge". And really, I think about how much I love (and I mean love) this game that I can only imagine how another feels about their badge character/badge count. It'd be nice to give that opportunity of feeling complete.
  8. Is it "nao" yet?

    How about nao?

    What about nao?

    How.. 'bouts... nao?

    Ok but soon, yeah?
  9. I've always felt that Mercy could have rivaled Atlas for a more vibrant, inviting, intuitive experience with different planning. While some don't enjoy the the gloomy atmosphere, my problem lies with the distance and difficulty between keypoints compared to the hero starting zones.

A starting zone may seem trivial to some but I often wonder if it was just another reason or the first reason that villains is far less popular.

Atlas, on my server, feels like a mecca. The new kids look straight ahead, amble up the stairs to find: trainers, initial contacts, SG registry desk, and the lively square. Again, maybe just my server, but that square is alive with as many 50's as level 1's. It's easy for a 50 to casually recruit for their supergroups on the way to other places they might be headed to anyway: SG desk to pay rent, Recluse's Victory inside City Hall, one of the WentWorths (incidentally, the one closest to an AE building) and RWZ. Those 50's help provide new players and new characters a player support system. Questions are answered, contests are held, groups are joined, community is formed. And from Atlas, a new player or character can journey easily to so many other zones: behind them to the Sewers, left to Perez Park, straight ahead to a tram with all the low level zones, and right to the Hollows. It's not just the zone's amenities that are accessible, the world beyond feels immediately accesible.

Mercy, has some things up front, yes: trainer, quartmaster, hospital and initial contacts. The difference being the wide open view compared to an multi-level platform. Run up, run down, run up, run down. I don't know if I want someone's first experience to feel grindy in every little thing. From there, it's not an impossible or challenging task but by comparison perhaps a less welcoming path to WW's counterpart and to a ferry which takes the player to just one other zone. Beyond that, all the reasons Atlas has to attract 50's are not there: the SG registry is in Port Oakes, Recluse Victory is accessible by Grandville, RWZ isn't first found until Cap au Diable.

You almost feel that in a choose your own adventure game, heroes is all about choices and villains is a stiff linear road to the last page. Sure, Mercy might be boring and repeative if designed exactly like Atlas but it could have given villainside a boost from more planning geared to introducing villains to their community and world not just the next zone set far stage exit left.

I don't know how Praetoria is accessed. If we have to gain entrance or if it will truly have its own starting zone but I wonder if Mercy will feel more like Boomtown after. Not because the new expansion is shiny and new but because Mercy doesn't have the same reasons as Atlas to choose it to begin with (other than being the only place to start villains now).

    Your 1 thing?

    Personal global bank for:

    Influence and infamy
    Recipe drops
    Salvage drops

Click and drag style on an account-wide viewable inventory screen.

I can't use a random recipe drop but my alt can. It'd be nice to pass all the LOTG's to my scrapper without trading by proxy. Saves time if my blaster needs an Essence of the Furies which dropped on my controller. I honestly don't think it would impact the auction houses either. It's not like I'm going to sell a LOTG 7.5 which dropped on one character and buy a new but different LOTG 7.5 recipe on another character. I'm going to trade back to myself anyway; it's just a matter of convenience. Not to mention, I'd definitely invest in my builds more because of that convenience.
  11. I'd rather they have another name purge on graveyard subscriptions than implement Champion's charactername@playername format. Wouldn't be long before people complained, "There's no good globals left."

    Cyclops@Cyclops
    Cyclops@RandyBeamer
    Cyclops@XXxBooyahxXX
    Cyclops@CoinOperatedGirl
    Cyclops@YerMumLolz
    Cyclops@I'mOnABoatBish

To me, global identity would seem to supercede character identity.
  12. The OP is Loyalist scum! Well, that's my theory. :P

    tl/dr

The examples of threads listed as better candidates for the Player Questions boards have a proper place in "For Fun!" My understanding is there is a difference between questions soliciting assistance and those generating speculative conversation.

As far as the matter of Loyalist/Seperatist/Anarchist declarations in Generalized sections, the threads I've seen hold casual charm unlike Ex Libris' Star Strider Registry.

    Dropships

We took out 2 Dropships! GREAT JOB VICTORY!

Special thanks to -> 3D, Work Ethic, Shadow Fire, Vivace, and Meddik for running the teams with me! Yall were AWESOME!

We had approximately 25 for the first drop ship, then about 50 for the second one! Excellent job Victory! I tip my hat to you on achieving this awesome feat. [screen shots up soon, doing a tf now!]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Vivace has dual citizenship, here and my home server. We're proud of her success.

*types up, for posterity* Guide to getting it done the right way:

    1. Destroy the first ship as a warning. Do not be surprised if the Rikti are confused by their own LAG technology and send a second.

    2. Obliterate the second ship in a spectacular Victorianesque manner that sends the rest of the Fleet packing!

*salutes* That's my kind of heroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nowadays, war -is- business. Maybe some of the less glamorous grunt-work is being outsourced to Halliburton-esque companies that added a cheap means of entertainment for its employees during brief periods of downtime.

    PvP ALERT!!!!!

Anyone who read the original post and heeded the call to battle that day, did so foolishly. The original post was littered with red flags. It's a nearly unsurmountable upperhand - the elements of surprise and preparation. Only *they* knew when and where and thus, they had more people already armed and able to shift lunchtime or TiVo (etc.) to attend en masse. It was a grand coup in terms of baiting and trapping other regular predators. Though, I do not consider it worth boasting. There's a great difference in a winning tactics and lasting success. I suspect that this group may one day become overconfident and find themselves on the losing end of an openly scheduled event against seasoned PvP'rs in established groups such as LoT, Ducks, and Wolves - especially if those groups band together for the intent of "schooling" the shortpants.

    P.S. Xad, churbad!
  22. 41. 20 in Talos and 21 in PI. I'd almost roll up a character in Virtue but we can do 80. Amiright? =P
  23. Jeepers, thanks all. <elegant curtsy>

And thank you for the contest, Niviene. I'm not much of a roleplayer but I am fairly obsessed with fleshing out my characters through the creation tool and biography.

Hopefully no one minds if I shamelessly thieve a few ideas from the others in the submissions thread. <wink> Why pirates always pwnz ninjas - we can really dress!
  24. Slice_O_Pie's pie-rette costume slots 1, 3, and 4. I spilled ketchup on 2.

I had fun tweaking the costume on the left during the great split skirt epidemic of '08.

As for the cape of choice, she slices silk ship flags into ribbons and drapes them over her shoulder for a menacing effect when striding into local taverns. Actually, she's a really nice girl.
