Anyone know if the bombs have been put back on a leash? Or do they still run away, climbing tall buildings in a way to make even Spider Man jealous?

Bombs seem to stay in one place. However the Rikti ships have rayguns now that can damn near vaporize you in a single blast. My L50 MM without bodyguard on got reduced to one hit point by a ray blast from a ship. I even saw it shoot me. I was like, WTF!

Hasn't this always been the case? I've been getting zapped by the "death rays" for a long time now.
Sounds like a blast, Ohloh. I'm game. I hope enough people participate to make it possible. Judging by the youtube video I watched of it being done, we will need a decent size army.

We had approximately 25 for the first drop ship, then about 50 for the second one! Excellent job Victory! I tip my hat to you on achieving this awesome feat. [screen shots up soon, doing a tf now!]

You think you would get something better than 1.6k xp and a Rugged =p At least a Badge, or even merits. I mean, if it took you 50 people for the second one, you think that would be a reasonable reward.

Posi actually went on record to say they deliberately removed good rewards so people would not feel they "needed" to do it, based on their difficulty. I was on the raid on test where we beat about 50 of them and were subsequently buffed. After that buff, I think the devs had thought they would not be taken down and people would lose interest.
Interesting, we weren't the only server to arrange one of these over the weekend.

That's 200 percent more than most servers have managed, especially if you count villainside.

This Friday, the Rikti Invasion starts again!
I've done several of these events, but I have never had the opportunity to try to take one of these massive ships out.
I love a challenge, I love trying things that are insanely hard or said to be impossible. So far, this meets all my criteria, so, why not?
I was thinking of starting off the Invasion weekend with taking one down on Friday night at 8 PM EST (which is 7 PM CST,5 pm PST).
If people are interested, please let me know! If you know of anything that would inhibit this from even being done (I know the fly limitations, which is offset by the flypack vendor), please say so!
