  1. So all of a sudden I have no more motivation to make inf, run itrials, level characters to 50, or worry about builds. I do still have some interest in running story arcs that I've missed until now.

What content in the game would you say is the most entertaining to play for its own sake?

For instance, I think anyone who's managed to miss it should run the Twinshot arc once, just for Dillo's dialogue.

She didn't see my retweet and I didn't see hers. I did see the Retweet from another player however. I didn't see Sooner's RT. She didn't see mine. I did see Samuraiko's RT. Hope Sooner and I are not borked.
This puzzled me too, so I did some experimenting. It looks like, if you actually hit the retweet button, your followers who already follow @CityOfHeroes won't see the retweet separately. The only way they would see that you retweeted is if they *don't* already follow CityOfHeroes.

I didn't realize Twitter worked this way, but it makes a lot of sense, since it keeps people from getting spammed with 50 retweets of the same message.

Samuraiko did a manual retweet by copy-and-pasting, adding some text of her own, and that will show up for everyone who follows her.

If you want to make it easier for everyone to get these, you could do that with no special resources. Just release a larger number at a time. I don't know how many it would take to make sure there are still codes left 15-30 minutes after the post -- 50? 100? -- but you could experiment.

Releasing codes in ones or small numbers is what makes these so hard to get, and that's not a technical limitation.
  4. What I did was test mine by deleting chunks of the Hosts file at a time. Even with a large file you can narrow it down pretty quickly that way.

In the end I only had to remove a couple of comments and some extra blank lines at the end. No change to the actual functional parts of the Hosts file was needed. Bizarre but true.
  5. Do you have a customized Hosts file on your computer? I had the same symptoms and was able to resolve them by deleting some extra lines I'd added to Hosts. There was nothing remotely related to NCSoft or COH in the Hosts file, yet it still confused the Paragon Market somehow.

I reserved Dog Whistle for a character like that, but I might wind up releasing the name, since beast/sonic isn't all that appealing to me. What I really wanted to play was beast/time, so I came up with this:

Zooey Carpenter thought her mutant powers were just a cool light show for the dance floor until the day she accidentally transported herself to the Pleistocene epoch. Stranded in North America before the arrival of other humans, she faced many hardships--there wasn't even *one* good band!--but managed to survive by befriending the local Dire Wolves and American Lions, which accepted her as one of their own. When she finally made it back to the 21st century, she had her own animal collective in tow.

Despite all the music she missed, she doesn't regret her time in the past--if only because she can now say that she was into this continent long before anyone else. It's kind of sold out in the last thousand years or so, honestly.
    I'm calling her "Pleistoscene."
  7. Players who drop down from VIP to Premium get only half the number of salvage, recipe, and Consignment House slots that the trainer says they'll get when levelling. GMs have been saying this "may not be working as intended" for two months; it would be good to get it on Known Issues so that we know it's officially a bug.

And I'm glad of it, considering that there are packs in the Paragon Market that actually cost *more* than their component parts.

It's not completely new, but it's clearly been vastly expanded. Instead of a handful of seasonal pieces unlocked in-game, we've got whole costume packs without the slightest trace of seasonal content being time-limited. Players now have one month a year to unlock something as simple and basic as a wide leather belt that looks decent (most of the existing ones are stretched versions of narrower belts and look terrible). It's ridiculous.

Beyond that, it's also disappointing to get nice-looking jeans that don't mix-and-match well because of the heavy black shading. They look strange with other clothing unless you choose a very dark color, and even then the lustre is wrong for denim. The shirt is also pretty shiny for the "casual dress shirt" it's supposed to be, and the quilted jacket is outright plastic; I guess that's part of the theme, and nice if it's what your character concept calls for, but I'd be much more interested in having a quilted leather or cloth coat.

That bothers me too. I can maybe see using it despite its faults, because dark hair with a very bright, well-defined light stripe has possiblities. But it would be so much better if it sat on the head properly. Another glitch is that the "sunglasses up high" distort when you adjust the brow and cheek sliders, even though they're nowhere near the cheeks.

The women's hairstyle is indeed nice, though.
  9. Can the auras and emotes purchased from Incarnate Merit vendors be used on any character? Or are they limited to level 50s, like the Ascension costume parts?

Also, does anyone know if they remain available even if you drop down from VIP to Premium?
  10. To those who have submitted a support request, what kind of response did you get?

I submitted one a month ago and got a form letter saying it might be a bug, but it hasn't shown up on the Known Issues list.

The specifics for me are a little different from the OP. I started my account after Freedom, went VIP, then dropped back to Premium. I have the problem on every one of my characters, no matter if they were created before, during, or after the VIP period -- although only characters levelled while VIP have the disparity between real and displayed consignment house slots.

What seems to happen is that when I level, I get exactly half the storage slots the trainer says I'm going to get, and if this leaves me with a half-slot I can use it like a full slot. So when going up to level 3, I'm supposed to get 4 salvage slots, and instead I get 2. I'm supposed to get one consignment house slot, and I do, but then at level 4 I'm supposed to get another and I don't.
  11. I don't understand what the issue is with the candy canes either, but I wonder if the OP ran into the same weird Customer Service gotcha that I did as a Premium accountholder. I petitioned in-game about a problem with my characters not getting as many storage slots as they're supposed to have, and got e-mail saying that in-game support was only for VIPs. So I went to the website, opened a ticket about the same issue, and got e-mail from *the same GM* saying that it wasn't working as intended and they would treat it as a bug report.

Limiting in-game petitions to VIPs seems perfectly reasonable, but then petitions should actually be *turned off* for Premiums. Taking petitions only to ignore them creates needless frustration for players and wastes Customer Service's time.
  12. Yesterday after the update, the game complained that the drivers for my Radeon 4850 weren't up to date, so I updated to the latest version. Although almost everything worked, I found that Bioluminescent armor pieces no longer had the glowing effect they're supposed to have, even when I switched to Ultra mode. I used AMD's express uninstall of all AMD software, then reverted to the 10.10 version of Catalyst that I was using before, but still no glow.

I think the problem might actually have started with the game client update, before I upgraded my drivers, but I'm not 100% sure. I remember seeing reddish Bioluminescence on a mannequin in Icon and thinking it looked really blah. I just didn't realize something had changed until I tried to play my own Bioluminescent character.

Everything else in the game looks fine as far as I can tell -- it's just this one costume set that's messed up. Is anyone else seeing this?
