Discussion: The City of Heroes Summer Event starts TOMORROW! Intrepid Informer Issue 22

*sighs at the irony of a Summer Blockbuster event where the trailer for said event wasn't released earlier*
However, the COH Twitter feed says that supposedly we're getting a trailer for this one... I so hope they play up all the movie cliches (green THIS TRAILER HAS BEEN APPROVED screen, over the top music, fake reviews, all that).
EDIT: OMG, I just had an idea - you know how theatres have a concessions stand mini-promo before the movie starts? (Some bubbly upbeat thing zooming around smiling and showing off all the stuff you can get...)
They need an icon of Golden Girl, all winkies and so on, zooming around the theatre showing off the features of the release (new graphics, new mechanic, whatever), almost like this demented version of Tinkerbell racing around before waving her wand and producing the Disney logo.

Technically they are... those events are specifically tied to turning in Halloween costume salvage for the bonus costume slot. So anybody who's been hanging on to extra and turns it in has a chance of starting one of the associated zone events.

I listened to Paul Harvey on the radio for much of my life. His reporting is as familiar to me as the baritone tones of Garrison Keillor on Prairie Home Companion.

Catch up with the technology 'ko.
Even a podunk town like mine allows me to view Twitch.TV recordings online.
With none of the problems I had with uStream.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

So are these missions things I can take my time and enjoy or are they Trial-style where my team will rush through and leave me behind and confused if I so much as try to read more than three words in a row?

And it's much like anything else, there's good and there's bad. There's some movies that have multiple big name stars that turn out to be godawful, boring drecks of films.
I would prefer that people have the option to do these at least some of these things solo rather than forced teaming. What have we really got for solo things in events? Valentine Deliveries, skiing, Trick or Treating (though if you're a lowbie, you'll spend more time hospitaling that fighting due to the placement of bosses in the spawns), opening presents, and Baby New Year. That's about all I can think of and three of those have been around for multiple years.
