From my end, you are wrong. I have complete access to these sets.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

It is like if DC just "Removed" Superman from the universe entirely!

Granted, although I haven't played through all the Sig Story Arcs personally, I know what happens. But how do you remove the poster child of the game for the past 8 years like that? I am very excited about the new things and features with I23, and I will keep playing the game like a fiend until they kill the servers, but I am a bit heartbroken here.

How about this: A hero, or co-op, zone/building that is a Statesman tribute/monument. Or at least replace Atlas statue with Statesman. Some sort of Statesman Statue somewhere. Hell, Recluse has 2 massive statues (1 in Mercy Island and 1 in Grandville). I just feel that while, ok MAYBE the live physical Statesman may be removed from the game, but the icon of Statesman should not be completely removed from the game. He has been Paragon's Superman for the past 8 years. I was excited about the new stuff when I saw the new CoH.com and login screen background... then I read this and realized what was going on. Now the new background upsets me.

And don't dare say "Well Marcus Cole still exists as Tyrant." Tyrant is a tool, and NOT the Marcus Cole from the Web Of Arachnos novel. (If you haven't read it, and love the game.... READ IT)

Or am I missing something? Is there a logical, good reason to remove Statesman, the game's Icon, from the game other than just the fact that he is dead?

You will be missed Statesman. . . and Sister Psyche.

I suppose I am disappointed with the loss of Statesman and Sister Psyche too. I felt their deaths in the SSAs were good but to remove them from later arcs as if they never got to experience them felt a little TOO much I thought. I agree that SSA should have been assumed to be set after the events of the L45-50 arcs and just assume in newer arcs that they're dead fo reeels!

I do enjoy the rest of the patch notes though, especially the TPN rocks!

Those are the re-re-revised sound effects that showed up very late in the Staff Fighting beta test. They didn't make it into the live build in time, so when Staff hit the market it was with the old sounds that nearly everyone hated.

I bet they meant for premium players wanting to buy them in the market, rather than VIPs who automatically have access.

Apparently we do get chainmail today! I'm cool with that

What was the reason for yet another shortcut thru the universe. (whatever the new name for it is). It was not especially difficult to get anyware with the last change to trains, mission teleporter, oroborus, pocket D, Supergroup teleporters and those silly little known TRAVEL powers.

Just curious what the design desions was for that one.

This one has links from the Praetorian zones to several Primal zones.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Not everyone has base or vip tp type powers and not all the cities were connected directly so they made a way for that to happen. People are welcomed to continue using their old way while for others its a QOL improvement period end of discussion.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Beyond the stuff other folks have mentioned, I have a sneaking suspicion that Oroborous may not be usable as a transit hub after The Coming Storm finally hits (i.e. becomes a zone with PvE or something). That's just my speculation - figure we'll have to wait until i20-mumble comes out to see for sure.

Monsters are now allowed to taunt players. Taunts from monsters will affect players in the same ways that taunts from players do.
Ok, I might be insane, but that sounds FREAK'N COOL. That could change up a lot of dynamics in the game.

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

Awww man, this update broke my Bolero.

The outside of the buttcape portion is borked... there's no specular, and its color changes along with the 'interior' color.

It looked fine when I logged out last night...

Woo. Full day of dinking about with some of the new toys. Boned myself a little with night ward tho, parking my Beast MM at 29 instead of pushing to 30. Was able to do Mistress Maria and, of course, Hellewise, but blocked at Montague til I'm 30. You think he could've been 29 too since Maria is so short there's little chance of bumping up. Oh well.

Night Ward is pretty, all the groups are really neat looking and have enough tricks up their sleeves to actually be kind of challenging.

Ran the Belladonna arc. Not bad, though frankly it just felt rushed. most of the missions are very short yet seem mostly like tedious busy work, a lot of the objectives are just "Kill Spud A". Seemed like more EBs than any of the DA arcs, but running it on a 50+3 it was a breeze.

The Personal Story for Cole still mapserves when using any of his AoE powers against the Arachnos army. Frankly, I think it's just the problem of having too many enemies crammed into too small a map. I get it's trying to feel epic, but it's causing -massive- lag and seems like the mapserve happens whenever you try to do an AoE attack on more than a small handful of enemies at a time. I'd really suggest just cutting the mob count in half and seeing if that helps. Neat story otherwise though.

Also did a marathon run with the usual Victory crew, got Hybrid unlocked. It's a total slog. The trial itself isn't that bad and the badges are actually pretty challenging, in a worthwhile 'this actually requires some thought and strategy' kind of way without feeling like it comes down to dumbluck on someone not screwing up. However, having to do it a minimum of 5 times to unlock the slot is pretty much the height of tedium. Not something I'll be doing in 1 sitting again for a -long- time and frankly I have no desire to do that again on any of my other characters. My main has it unlocked and slotted, I'm happy enough with that. I'll likely run it with my other 50s, but in a more incidental 'oh they're running magisterium' than "Ok, time for Run #4! Almost there" kind of way. It's a pain that there's no way to buy the Advanced iXP. I'd be fine with even a 10 threds to 1% conversion or something.

And later on when I can sit at the comp more I'll try out Penny Yin's TF. but so far I'm enjoying the I23 goodie bag.

Do I understand that you can't advance Hybrid and advance it with threads and earn iXP for it the way you can now earn iXP in DA for the others. I hate having to hope that someone runs a iTrial so that you can advance the incarnite that you need. I assumed that they realized it was an error to have a trial dependent only avancement and fixed it with the DA reworking. So I don't understand why we would repeat it with Hybrid.
If Im wrong let me know.

Trials always get first dibs on goodies, then it'll trickle down to solo-able stuff later.

Those were the rocks laying around the Well of the Furries. They are Incarnate rocks. They should have been left as is

Basically, Absorb creates a shell of bonus HP over your max HP. Any attacks you receive will deplete the shell before coming out of your actual HP.

It will play heavily in the upcoming Bio Armor defensive set, as well as one or two of the next round of ATOs.

Rad armor will be using Absorb, as well as a few other things...

The Trials are the core Incarnate content, so they need to be worked on and fine tuned first - once the devs are happy with the difficulty level and reward rate, they can then add slower solo stuff as an alternative path - so once they're comfortable with how we're getting the Hybrid slot via one or more Trials, they'll give a non-Trial way of unlocking it.

ok two things

First: Basically, Absorb creates a shell of bonus HP over your max HP. Any attacks you receive will deplete the shell before coming out of your actual HP.

ok all fine and good ,except what about counting towards the damage taken badges? If I rememeber correctly or they have not changed it, the accolade HP bonuses causes some problems getting the damages to count towards the badges.will this also cause the same problems?

Second: i unlocked the new slot on Freedom tonight ,even with the problems with the queues. did 5 runs, 1 succeed 4 fails, both due to the teams, one listened to leader ,others did not( i did my part by doing "light" duty)

The battles seemed to be a bit wimpy(even with the results from above) this was suppose to be the final knockdown, drag out fight of the Preatorian arcs?
felt like a mis mash of stuff from other Itrials. the final battles in the LRSF seems tougher

well i did it on my main, really have no will to do it again. I crafted my enhancments.and have another power to maybe use, back to BAFs and UG for me.

I am curious on how we will unlock the remaining slots.

Seconded. Also, the Mecha-armor rewards list in-game doesn't show a shield option either?

Nice to see Fire+Ice back though. I assume other sets will cycle around as well, which is a nice touch. Still have 2-3 tokens left over now though@_@

EDIT:
Quote:
  • Backpack 1
  • Backpack 2
  • Backpack 3
There's also only one backpack, and two wing options. And only 3 full helmet details(though Detail one has the awesome Earpiece / antennae choices so there's four choices in total[well really like 15 because left/right antenna etc.])

I don't like the mecha helmet itself(it kinda looks likea creepy luchadore mask if you give it the right coloring:P), but liking a lot of the designs overall(and the earpieces/etc. are cool). mecha 'claws'(lightsaber-y punching daggers ftw!)are ha-mazing

The chainmail skirts took forever to find - That's because they're only available in the short option(no long-skirted chainmail maids wielding brooms for me sadly!:P)

The Mecha armor gloves make me want a Rocket-Fist power set.

All in all I like it, though a bit sad you can't layer patterns on a lot of the new stuff. Otherwise YAY NEW THINGS.
