  1. I brought a blue hero t-shirt myself, even if it doesn't help save the same I want to say that I came, I played and all I got was a t-shirt.

Sometimes screenshots of all your old characters isn't enough.

Ultimately, whether keeping the suggestion simple and vague was intentional or not, it was the best way to go really. You say the original poster should give more specific powers and numbers but I've seen what threads like that turn into, players whine and moan about the design approaches and numbers not fitting into their views of how such an idea should be done, or disregarding the whole thing because they think doing nothing is an easier option for the developers, or treating the OP as if they have any reference or authority to give out developer figures and designs and berate them for not following suit.

Nothing's stopping you from building ideas for something more specific from what is given, and it's better because they haven't stated something so ridged that you cannot contribute.
  3. Mutation's predecessor [Mystic Fortune] already has it's own gag prize of [The Fool], speed increase with increased recharge but a small ToHit penalty.

If it has a component that improves something above speed, it's likely to have a counterbalance elsewhere.
  4. I suppose I am disappointed with the loss of Statesman and Sister Psyche too. I felt their deaths in the SSAs were good but to remove them from later arcs as if they never got to experience them felt a little TOO much I thought. I agree that SSA should have been assumed to be set after the events of the L45-50 arcs and just assume in newer arcs that they're dead fo reeels!

I do enjoy the rest of the patch notes though, especially the TPN rocks!
  5. I know what you mean, here in the UK I've started seeing adverts for Runescape, all with fancy high resolution cartoon CGI to make it out it was some kind of light-hearted action-fantasy. But I've played that game years ago and remember the graphics of the browser game were all but pointy polygons.

After taking a quick look on their website now, it's nice to see they've advanced the graphics, I suppose my memory of the game when I used to play it threw me off a tangent.

Would I like to see a CoH TV advertisement? Maybe, but I think to make it a real eye-catcher it's going to need a bunch of work done to it to interest the glancing audience. I love the game myself but that may be my investment and sentimentality talking here.

Actually that's not true. Zombie apocalypses DO still happen in Dark Astoria, I was waiting for a Trial to start up on my Incarnate Stalker once and suddenly zombies started popping up from the ground and all the incarnates had a grand time beating them down.

Of course, if you're talking about the now Echoed DA, I can understand that will never happen again. But to be fair, the new Dark Astoria /is/ called Dark Astoria still.
  7. If Scrappers needed a crit buff, it would just make sense to grant a bit more chance on higher ranking enemies.

    13% for bosses?
    15% for EB/AV/GMs?

The numbers could be anything, but scaling up the chance by referencing more ranks could work without being ST or AoE biased.

    4. ADD - Spammer global Ignore list. (The ignore list is to short, and there are lots of spammers out there.)
    5. COSTUME: Trench Coat - more skins for the trench coat, Leather is not enough.
    6. ADD - More colors! the color lists are great, but it would be nice if we could get LOTS of colors. much like the Chat bubble system.

    1) I do find it annoying being pushed around, I would agree to less getting blocked and pushed though if it were completely intangible we'd get awkward personal-space invasions on top of our Rikti and Nemesis ones >_>

    2) I'd enjoy more dancing!

    3) I think Null can already block mystic fortunes and the speed portions of Speed-Boost. But might be tricky to actually stop the powers entirely as to prevent them from breaking emotes.

    4) Bigger lists, I'd agree.
    5) Never thought there'd be more than just leather Trenchcoats, no disagreements here.

    6) More colours would be nice, just have to keep in mind that the plus point about our current swatches is that we can more easily colour match parts by imagining "third red from the left" than using hexidecimal or RGB sliders.

    7) Would love to see this come to life but sounds like one of those issue-sized changes to the game, probably as big as one or two powersets.
    8) No idea what this means by animation proliferation so I'll imagine you're talking about getting emotes for actions NPCs do and certain powers and I'd DEFINITELY AGREE!
    9) This already exists, Combat Nurses in the hospitals, DA's hospital is right next to the old zone entrance everybody hangs around for trials. (At least in Virtue)
    10) Would be fun to have more details there, though it's going to take one of those valuable animation nodes that the devs are wary of using up.
    11) Gender equality, agreement.
    12) More monster leg options, agreement.
  9. I don't know how much good it'll be to explain the hows and whys it since you're already exclaiming about wanting freebies to drain resources and glad you'll never spend here again, but I'll explain simply what has happened and why you weren't ripped off in the least.

You used the [50% Shared XP boost] power, your character now earns 50% more XP for the next in-game hour. You should have an auto-buff icon denoting this in your upper-right corner.

You were then GRANTED a 50% Shared XP power which is used to cast on another player, since the system can't just 'guess' who you want to get the boost, the system lets you choose by casting this power on your friend/ally.

You think the power that was generated needed to be cast on you and your friend but the fact is you already got the XP boost the moment you claimed the reward.

Now whether you actually care to come back to read this thread to put your mind at ease, I'm not entirely sure.
  10. I suppose the reason Admin is unfilterable is because they don't want people filtering it out and then getting mad at them when one day they'll say "We're trying to fix a problem with accounts being erased when the server goes down, please log out normally or your account will be erased! 20 minutes until shutdown"

It's very unlikely, but if it ever happens... ...!

Would be nice if they limited Admin broadcasts out of courtesy, I agree.
  11. Nemesis is also a frequent City of Heroes meme, it makes so much sense!
  12. While I do like the idea of being able to Catalyze more IOs to superior versions, common IOs just aren't the right type for such a purpling treatment.

The reason there are purple sets is because they have set bonuses and locked at L50. They hold exception to the 'set bonuses shutdown three levels below it's level' rule present in other IOs and enhancements as one of the perks of a superior set. Additionally the values for those set bonuses are greater than regular IO set bonuses and will always be active even if you exemplar down to L1.

You are suggesting something that can already be done in the form of 'Enhancement Boosters', combined with common IOs to increase their base values by 5% up to 25% their base value when five are used.

Even if commons could be purpled, it wouldn't have any effect. IO enhancement values diminish but do not shut down when you exemplar, even for purples. The purple status just means 'greater values and never-shutting down set bonuses'.

Now if you suggested for there to be superior versions of existing IO sets? I'd be very intrigued!

Edit: I ran the numbers in a calculator, and 1.25x 42% for your recharge IO would end up as 52.5%, that's pretty much half a percent short of your suggestion with five enhancement boosters. Meaning your suggestion pretty much is already in the game!
  13. Given how we'll have a chance to play a personal story as Tyrant/Emporer Cole with his own signature powers to use, this is definitely a probable idea on a technical scale.

Personally I'd love to be able to play arcs that only signature characters and NPCs could do. Being able to relive the life and highlights of Galaxy Girl for instance, from when she got her powers, to the death of Dauntless and her heroic end at the Rikti invasion.

Only problem is the nay-sayers* who will post in a minute who say "OMG I WANT TO PLAY AS MY CHARACTER NO NONONONONO!", as if such tech would totally replace our character customisation when it would be a separate arc at most.

Maybe I want to roleplay when I'm playing a roleplaying game, so I can roleplay when I'm playing a roleplaying game? Roleplayception.

    * I was going to use a much, much ruder word but decided against it.

In that case why not just make the O-Portals time-travelling PTA transits where you choose which location to go once you click it? Paragon Ouro, Rogue Isle Ouro, Praetoria Ouro, and all the Ouroboros exit zones. The latter which would cut a loading screen out for the thing most people use it for anyway, shortcuts :P
  15. A small tid-bit that I learned to use myself is the 'Find Contact' button on the Contacts window.

Click it and it will display all valid contacts for your level in all the zones you can get to. Any contacts you know personally will mark the zone or location they are but ones you /haven't met yet/ you can teleport directly to their location to introduce yourself.

Use it anytime you run out of contacts to speak to or simply warp to new contacts. The teleport feature only works before being introduced to them remember!

(Find contact is a blue button in the Contacts window on your nav/compass bar)
  16. What I tend to do at least in melee is micro-repositioning. It's kind of like sticking to one spot but I circle around my foes in small movements between attacks to make it seem like they're dodging and weaving or trying to find an open spot to attack. And this is when I'm using single-target powers.

For AoEs and such I move around to maximise targets hit, only makes sense. But I just like to move a bit to make things a little more exciting!
  17. Mentioned this in Help channel as one of those crazy ideas that just might work, thought I'd actually get on here and post it. There's been a lot of limitations set in Ouroboros when it comes to alignment, mostly how Vigilantes are still heroes, rogues are still villains and there's no Praetorian arcs to go back to either. And when using the O-portal as a shortcut for tourist mortality characters? Forget about it!

The problem here is that the O-Portal is coded to look at alignment and send you to either the Hero Ouro or Villain Ouro based on it. Meaning tourist alignments are put into binary good/evil groupings.

My suggestion is simple: Redo the O-Portals so instead of it being Hero Ouroboros and Villain Ouroboros, it's Paragon Ouroboros and Rogue Isles Ouroboros. And if resources are put to it, you could even make a Praetoria Ouroboros to cover the time-lost Praetoria arcs. By making it location-specific instead of alignment specific, even as non-pure alignments you can still take advantage of all the arcs and use them as shortcuts even while playing tourist. Heck, this means Rogues can team with heroes to do Ouro arcs and Vigs for Villain Ouro teams.

I suppose if you had to account for instances/SG bases it would default to work like how it does now, treat you as a pure alignment. But other city zones you'd most likely use the O-Portal anyway? Problem solved.

Oh, and add the Safeguard/Mayhem missions to Ouroboros too, just make a dedicated NPC a la Null the Gull if you have to! It's not impossible to be SSKed down to the last level of a bracket and re-enable use of the scanpapers to earn a go at Bank missions for the appropriate zone
  18. If ever implemented they'd most likely give us a small list of approved fonts we can use that are legible but styled. FixedSys could make a good mechanical/tech voice for robotic characters. I'm not a pro at fonts but if they could have a fancier font for posh/well-spoken characters, something thick and bolded for large and brutish characters, erroded or wispy for sinister or creepy characters.

Heck, if they need to reuse the tech to get the most out of it, they could add special tags to give formatting to speech bubbles, much in the way that traditional comicbooks bold words that have importance or simply spoken more strongly than the other text. Personalise the enemy groups to give them their own feel in their dialogue by flagging groups with a style of font.

Would need some serious integrating to pull off, you know how they like to get the most bang for their tech, a whole flood of four-legged rigs is proof of that!
  19. Not sure why people are so annoyed by magical content, I think it would be great if we could have inspired-assets from other MMOs for our own use, means less chance of wanting to leave the game because we already have what they're got.

Plus I'll always know no matter how much fantasy armour and abilities I have, I'll be able to solo content on my own (even on my squishies) and if I fully incarnate out, be able to beat the AVs and GMs that usually require a group in THIS game to beat, by myself.

So it's like being in a Fantasy MMO but actually being powerful. Heh.

I hope the Black Knight Armour gets ported intact <8¬|
  20. I've probably posted a suggestion thread or two about this before, but if I had to choose one QoL update for an issue I'd choose Dayjobs myself.

Mission-complete timers for the majority of the bonuses are crap and only encourage reckless speeding in order to get a chance for any kind of bonus. Bonuses that grant out-of-combat regen/recov work similarly bad just because you can't time when you want it to turn on. Without explaining in too much detail, all the dayjob bonuses need to function like Patrol XP or temp powers that only deplete through ACTION, not timers.
  21. Well in defense of Dr. Trevor Seaborn, his 'Rescue the fortuneteller' mission is required in part of [The Atlas Medallion] endurance accolade and I'm shocked you actually managed to get him as a contact without Ouroboros! O_O

But I agree on the tedium of the contact's missions. It kind of feels like they don't really have anything important going on and just delegating you to someone else while they stand around looking 'pretty'. There's no serious crime so why the heck are you sending me to someone else for something to do?
  22. I know exactly how Shards drop, and like Aggelakis said, it's rolled individually per person per defeat.

It technically means that one minion could drop eight shards, one for each incarnate equally. Although the chances of that happening are astronomical, that's how the shard drops work.

I suppose since it's account-bound it doesn't matter if an enemy can drop the same item more than once per defeat. It could be the same with threads but I cannot confirm that specifically.
  23. I think $15 on a bundle of points really to get Street Justice and something else. Enjoyed the two tokens I got for first purchase and the 1200pp milestone reached. Been tempted to get another $15 since trying the Super packs but I've been good and patient about that.

Also continuous VIP status since before freedom
  24. We know it's been done to death, but it's one that many can agree needs beating until it's sorted. The current respecs are kind of clunky, based on the idea that you're starting yourself over from scratch, but not every person who respecs wants to rechoose their powers, heck, some might not even want to redo their slots!

I recommend that a new respec system opens up with the respec window and three choices: Full respec, Partial Respec and Modify Enhancements. Full respec is the classic/current method starting from choosing your powers again, Partial Respec keeps your powers but lets you reorganise your slots. And Modify Enhancements simply unslots all your enhancements to rearrange them in the build and tray. Partial Respec is possible because SSK would not be able to remember which powers should be active if it couldn't.

Would Modify Enhancements depreciate the premium enhancement unslotters we can already buy? Maybe. But the classic respec system already lets us do that, just in a long and tedious way.

Simply put: A prompt with three choices starting on different steps on the respec window, each remembering the old choices of the next for an easier management of slots and enhancements.
  25. With 'right decision' #1, it would have to be phrased particularly carefully to not seem like a money-grab. Something like "Choose your alignment, if you possess the Alignment system (available from the Paragon Store), you may change your alignment later from Lv20 onwards"

Making alignment changes for free would be nice, but rather unlikely given the permanent system unlock and the align-change tokens released recently.
