Shapeshifter (New Archetype)
Growth is not doable with this engine. Or at best, highly problematic.
As for the rest - flesh it out. Right now it's just a list sitting out there. It's only slightly better than saying "I want... things! Yes, add things to the game!"
Actually it wouldn't work with the game engine as it currently is.
The game engine as it is currently does not handle stretching, growing or shrinking. The closest that it comes to growing or shrinking is using the Super Tailor to change the height and body sliders on different costume slots.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
The Shapeshifter is coming as a new AT or a powerset, according to the leaked powers that were available on Beta for I23. I have the form and power listings on my other computer though.

A shapeshifter, to me, would only work as a whole other AT. I assume it would use the Titan Weapons mechanic of swapping to entirely different versions of its powers based on one of several transformations, each of which would also come with its own stat modifiers.
Say, for instance, that you have a basic druid shapeshifter. You could change into a wolf, gain speed and some regeneration and have all your attacks change into bites. Or you could change into a ram, gain resistances to damage and status effects and have your attacks turn into headbutts. Or you could turn into a bear, gain more health and have your attacks turn into paw swipes and bites.
What I DO NOT WANT to see is the situation Kheldians are in, where they have a zillion powers because each form comes with its own subset that need a million billion slots to kit out. Have one set of powers built for one thing that just change their appearance and stats with the different forms.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Like in "Who Will Die part 1" (((Spoilers)) skip the next line, if you don't want to know.
Where you get Synapse powers, that are there to the end of the mission.
So maybe turn in a bear and give you 5 attacks, when you turn human those attack disappear. I would LOVE a Shapeshifter.
He's not talking about the trays. I believe Sam is talking about how Kheldians have far too many powers and we have a finite number of slots to assign to our builds so one way or another we end up either gimping powers or not using the Archetype to it's fullest potential because we have to skip a form or two.
Some say that there is a new EAT coming Sometime™
Some also say that it has powers that work across all of it's forms, with each form making the powers behave differently.
The Devs said on the stream yesterday however that they have no 'imminent' plans for a shapeshifter.
So, of course, it's just 'some say'. I'm a villain, after all

I like this idea as a powerset. There might be enough different 'shapeshifting' options to make a full AT feasible.
And with the recent 'personal missions' functionality, the devs have already shown that it's possible to completely replace your own character's 'normal' appearance and power trays with a completely different character and set of powers. Not to mention the Coyote travel power, the Panther stealth power, etc.
Mr. Fantastic/Plastic Man style stretching really isn't do-able in the current character model, but a character that can turn into an elephant, or a velociraptor, or something like that should be achievable with current tech.
Curious to see how the OP runs with this.

I understand how stretching wouldn't work, but I too would love to have a shapeshifter AT. Shapeshifters work as they're own AT because what power set is gonna be a shapeshifting power set? Shapeshifting is a whole other category.
I just hope they make it, and that It come out soon. (:
I don't see a list of power fo fighting.

Once more, you're not explaining a *thing* about what you actually want, which makes it rather hard to talk about.
I can, however, tell you one thing that people will object to - I can guarantee it, because they do now with Khelds, VEATs (first slot and the crab backpack) and with Granite from Stone armor - namely, loss of control over their own appearance.
Growth - Streching, growing and srinking.
could be considered a power. The rest are merely suggestions for skeletons and costumes.
2. Dinosaurs - What ever dinosaurs.
3. Animals
4. Robots
6. Inanimate objects
8. Aliens
And number 7 Copying (Like the blue girl from the X-Men) is just duplicating the costume of an NPC or another players character. Unless the OP means to suggest something like the Arachnos Disguise temp power you get in Faultline, but the devs would never allow something that overpowered without seriously gimping it with restrictions.
and Mystique didn't copy powers, she only copied appearances
OK, the post I made with all the supposed powers in development was deleted so I'm guessing posting it was a major no-no.
Oooooops, my bad.

I don't give a PANCAKE what any one says I just want a shapeshifter archetype.
He's not talking about the trays. I believe Sam is talking about how Kheldians have far too many powers and we have a finite number of slots to assign to our builds so one way or another we end up either gimping powers or not using the Archetype to it's fullest potential because we have to skip a form or two.

I am, yes. One thing I absolutely do not want to see from a Shapeshifter AT is each form coming with its own set of powers that have to be enhanced individually. Instead, I want a Shapeshifter AT that comes with the standard set of 9 powers that simply change stats and possibly unenhanceable secondary effects with the different forms.

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
Just remember this is only an idea.
I thought of an Archetype that would work with the Coh game engine. Shapeahifters would be cool to have, and they would work out as they're own archetype.
They would have the abilities to transform into any one or anything, and they would have special owers when ever they're in a different form.
Primary: Transformation/ Support
Secondary: Defense
Not every one of they're primary powers would be a transformation or shapeshifting power. They would gradualy get more shapeshifting powers like how masterminds gradualy get new henchmen.
Here are some primary power sets examples.
1. Growth - Streching, growing and srinking.
2. Dinosaurs - What ever dinosaurs.
3. Animals
4. Robots
6. Inanimate objects
7. Copying - Like the blue girl from the X-Men
8. Aliens
I would love to see this archetype come true.
