Idea for Scrapper crit buff?

Not saying that they need it but if they were ever to get any kind of a buff, can they get one that represents, thematically, the opposite of what Stalkers recently got.

Instead of hiding behind their friends to get a crit bonus; they get a chance-to bump for each enemy in X radius; up to Y amount?

"Scrap harder!"

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"
*Arc #95278-Gathering the Four Winds -3 step arc; challenging - 5 Ratings/3 Stars (still working out the kinks)
*Arc #177826-Lights, Camera, Scream! - 3 step arc, camp horror; try out in 1st person POV - 35 Ratings/4 Stars

Don't all damage buffs disproportionately benefit AoE-centric builds? Regardless of AT?

Yes, but an AOE-centric scrapper build has more incentive to have lots of guys in melee at the same time, thus making the gap in benefit for AOE vs. ST builds wider.

Only by virtue of hitting more guys, which a flat crit rate already does. A scaling crit rate would double-dip on that effect: being surrounded by enemies means your AoEs get more chances to crit, AND have a higher chance to crit.

I know it's been years since anyone tried to seriously portray a Scrapper's main role as a "boss killer", but reversing it and making us a "crowd killer" wouldn't really be an improvement. I play Scrappers when I don't want to herd aggro, so this would just be annoying.

If Scrappers needed a crit buff, it would just make sense to grant a bit more chance on higher ranking enemies.

13% for bosses?
15% for EB/AV/GMs?

The numbers could be anything, but scaling up the chance by referencing more ranks could work without being ST or AoE biased.

didn't scrappers JUST get a crit buff via the Scrapper's Strike Archetype set?

That's an enhancement which not everyone can or will get and shouldn't be put into consideration for overall balance.

The Scrapper is meant to be the middle ground, the vanilla. It flips out and kills stuff, it doesn't have to build fury, it doesn't have to tank, it doesn't have to pick it's targets carefully, it just fights what it wants how it wants.

With this in mind, should a buff be needed, a scaling Crit/damage/anything buff wouldn't work. If a Scrapper's fighting a single target, it isn't going to get that buff great. If it has to build up like fury, that's not flipping out and killing stuff, that's hitting stuff to fill up a bar and THEN going nuts. Scrappers would need a buff which is direct, simple and requires no thought.

Add 5% extra crit chance to the existing % points.

If it has to be fancy, make the crit chance 20% higher for each crit you get (as in if you have a 5% chance to crit, it's then 25% for the next few seconds). If the stars align for a Scrapper, they can get a chain of constant crits without caring what powers they're using, but then AoEs would be the more beneficial since more enemies = more chances to crit = better chance for crit buff.
