The "That Actor Was In What?!?" Thread
Please tell me you knew that was Tom Berenger and you're not like my college students this year who didn't know who Val Kilmer is.
Most people have given out the ones that I knew (like Jack Black in X-Files). Vincent D'Onofrio as Thor blew my mind. Most of Liam Niesson's smaller parts have been noted, but I know I was surprised to see him in the role of a priest in The Mission (excellent movie if you haven't seen it) along Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons. |
Considering I linked a picture from Major League, I'd say, yes, I know who he is. I didn't realize it was him in H&M due to the way he was dressed and that scruffy beard. It didn't look like him and didn't even know he was in the show till I saw the credits w/his name.

One that I didn't believe reading it in the credits after watching the movie: In Moulin Rouge!, Audrey, the writer who storms out rather than collaborate with Christian, is played by David Wenham, Faramir from The Lord of the Rings.

I'm still trying to wash my brain out after an image someone put up on this forum of Mr. Smith/Elrond/Hugo Weaving in drag for a movie role. Heh.
Or Top Gun. Or Heat. Or Tombstone. Or who knows how many more movies I'm not thinking of without looking at IMDB.
Anyway. Bunch of people keep bringing up Mark Hamill as the Joker. I think the first time I figured it out was after seeing one of my favorite Batman cartoons for the second time, where the Joker is infecting people in Gotham with some kind of gas barge on the river. Has some awesome music, and then my brother or I noticed "Mark Hamill" by The Joker. Blew our minds about as much as The Usual Suspects a little later (we watched that one twice in a row).
Which incidentally had Pete Postlethwaite in it, who played minor roles in all kinds of crazy and all over the place movies, like Inception, Romeo and Juliet, and even Dragonheart.

And having a 2 year old that loves Yo Gabba Gabba, it took me a while to figure out Mark who does the art segment in the show is Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo. On top of that, Mark's credits for scoring TV and movies include Rugrats, Eureka's main theme, the Sims 2, Rushmore, Life Aquatic and so much more.
Also the voice of the robot character Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba! is the lead singer of the Aquabats. |
Dr. Cox from Scrubs was in the movie Se7en.

Apparently, Kevin Bacon was in the first Friday the 13th.
And Alyssa Milano was in Commando.
Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

Someone brought up J.K. Simmons, he was also Dale Earnhardt's father, Ralph Earnhardt, in the ESPN movie: 3. And on the subject of Spider-man actors, I'm having a hard time seeing Denis Leary as Capt. Stacy after so many years as firefighter Tommy Gavin on Rescue Me (I miss that show ).
One more, I was recently watching ST:TOS "Day of the Dove" with this Klingon officer as the main antagonist. Every time he spoke, I knew I'd heard that voice somewhere; that very slow, calculating voice. And then I think he says something over the intercom, and that mechanical tinge with his voice made it click: Michael Ansara who plays Kang in that episode (and later episodes of DS9), was also Mr. Freeze in Batman: TAS.
In fact, when I was looking through IMDb's listing on BTAS, I was surpised at some of the names, specifically ST alumni, that had voice roles in that show.
Freedom
Blueside: Knight'Hawk, lvl 50, Scrapper
Yellowside: Dark'Falcon (Loyalist), lvl 20, Blaster

Thomas Jane was in Face Off with Travolta and Cage.

Riker, Troi, Worf, Data, & Janeway off the top of my head. As well as the rest of the overall cast of that show. Now that is a show I miss...
Thank you for the time...
Jon Favreau as a lackey to both Daredevil and Iron Man. Didn't know he directed the second one as well.
Favreau credits Dungeons & Dragons with giving him "...a really strong background in imagination, storytelling, understanding how to create tone and a sense of balance." |

I was watching my SG-1 dvds and saw someone familiar. It looks like Allison from Eureka played Teal'c's wife in the first season. Apparently, they changed actresses in the second season.
I don't know if it's been posted yet, but I just realized last night that Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) was in Alien 3.

Robert Englund also voiced The Riddler in Batman: TAS. To me he will *always* be Willy from V.
"Larry" Fishburne is Cowboy Curtis from Pee Wee's Playhouse.

If internet celebrities and Reality shows count Egoraptor of "metalgear awesome" fame was on the third season of The Tester.
Steamboy isn't Stewart's only Anime work. He also did Lord Yupa in NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind. Also Eward James Olmos & Uma Thurman did Characters in that film's English Dub as well.
Thank you for the time... |
The guy who played Green Lantern, and the guy who should have played Green Lantern, were both on the short-lived sitcom, "Two Guys, A Girl, And a Pizza Place."

Look up the Voice Cast for Gargoyles some time...

And of course, another Tim Curry doing an excellent villain. *goes to watch clue*
And speaking of janeway - Dragon Age and Warehouse 13 too.
Both of those seem to attack ex-Star Trek actors. Wonder who'se next for W13.

Was watching Batman Begins this weekend before going to see the latest one. Was surprised to see King Joffrey in it.

Also, Erica Durance of Smallville fame was in SG-1. (apologies if already posted)
