Discussion: Fallen Thunder
I was expecting so much more from this, and even spent more time logged in yesterday than I had the previous 60 days combined...
underwhelmed.
I think it should be changed from the typical invasion format in one particular way
Get rid of the droves of lag inducing canon fodder troops in the main event; you can have them spawn all over the zone away from the main event.
For the Main event have GM Nemesis "leading" A bunch of AV Nemesii who in turn "lead" a few Fake Nemesis EBs
"A nemesis plot" is a weak badge title is there anyway we could be granted a "Stopped A Nemesis Plot" badge? That is a title I could drop "Ex-Archvillian" for. The badge text could read "with all the Nemesii you've taken out at least one of them had to be the real deal, right?"
I was a little disappointed with the 'start' of this recycled invasion event. I hope there is more to this whole thing and that it gets better.
"...now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb" - Dark Helmet
At least work in a mole machine somewhere here, and some of the brass ponies too!
"...now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb" - Dark Helmet
Can you at least tell us if we can expect for from this event or is what we see is what we get?

well they do not like to talk about future events, In case they fall thru , that way we can't complain on things we don't know about. not saying it is a bad policy.

Finally og to one of these in KR and... well... for a Nemesis plot I was underwhelmed, I was at least hoping to see some sort of temporary staging base appear in a zone with a Brass-Fortress/Giant-Mole-Machine appearing with lots of nemesis goons around it.
The Rikti style group invasion spawn attack thing is nice but very straight forward for Nemesis...
...having said that as a distraction to a greater plot... Good thing the Nemesis meme sells itself.
Addendum.
Just worked out what I want this "Fallen Thunder:" to be about.
A. Nemesis plans to steal Statesman's Corpse and resurrect it into a Nemesis-Steam-Powered-Zombie-Statesman-Cyborg.
B. Nemesis takes the body for his own implanting his brain into the corpse thus the reason why Mendor Silos has an actual body.

What would've made it better is if the mobs rapelled down from hovering steampunk blimps. The whole teleporting-in thing doesn't really fit with that technology, IMO.
Or emerged from mole machines, which burrowed up from beneath (and then disappeared, to keep the city from being filled with huge eyesores that have a mountain of hp and give no xp for defeat).

Nemesis was on Virtue last night, speaking via admin chat - he answered questions about ponies

Zwillinemesis taunted Pinn last night sa well, eventually dropping a dozen GMs on us in Atlas at once. Houtex's Brawling Humiliator tanked 'em all and dropped the canned hams. It was glorious to watch him hit the Brass Bombast in the bearings.
Next time a red name hops on Nemesis and speaks over the admin chat, mind making him more in character? Give a monologue about how we're all worthless, toss out some threats and call some players out, toss some insults out at the "pathetic" heroes and villains, hint at his master plan without giving away too much. Don't become a laughing stock
No Villain has class, just like no Villain has honor - they're all fakes and frauds

Based on the red name banter Nemesis gave out last night, I don't think classy is the right word.

The word "indubitably" was tossed around quite a bit.

Do it again, Zwillmesis! And MOAR GMS. \m/ 0.0 \m/
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
From just the official announcement I had no idea this was an actual event until tonight.
I had assumed it was a teaser for the next issue or something.
Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas
Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.
Frankly, I am already sick to death of Nemesis and his Fallen Thunder. I am repeatedly getting attacked - and often killed - when leaving mission doors, Hospitals, Stores, or when trying to turn in quests to quest-givers.
You are over the top with this. Tone it down!

[Guide to Defense] [Scrapper Secondaries Comparison] [Archetype Popularity Analysis]
In one little corner of the universe, there's nothing more irritating than a misfile...

So far, really disappointed with the event.
Like the Rikti invasions, when I try to target an enemy near my character I get an enemy that is still spawning and can't attack. On a melee character I am spending more time trying to get a valid target than attacking.
With the Rikti and Zombie invasions I can usually count on seeing a decent crowd on Talos or Peregrine Island during my normal play hours on Justice. Tonight and last night there were no more than two other people during the invasions in those zones.
I did manage to get on a few decent sized teams on Wednesday that certainly had the damage and debuffs to take out any of the normal zone GMs or event GMs, but we never saw Nemesis.
Yes, I know, "kill things fast and stick together," but we were. I'm saying maybe the spawn rate needs to be tweeked a little so it's no so feast or famine with the high end spawns in invasions in general.
For future events, could we maybe, possibly, if it's not too much trouble, think about doing something other than invasions? Especially invasions that have a threshold for # of people in order to spawn the badge enemies?
Between Rikti, Nemesis, Undead, and whateverelseImaybeblankingon, the Invasions simply aren't any fun any more. There's no real in-game meta event accompanying them, just...lotsa spawns. They may have been interesting the first couple of times, but after a while, they turn into the game equivalent of another rant about Twilight fans.
How about some scavenger hunts with items hidden around the city? Or races? Or literally anything besides yet another invasion? Or randomly generated portals that take characters to special maps? And above all else, make it so that soloers or small teams (<8) can do them.
"The Eternal Nemesis" arc from Maxwell Christopher is largely about Nemesis replacing his aged organic brain with an artificial one. There are suggestions (but no hard proof that I know of) that he makes continual backups of his mind so that if defeated he can just startup with a fresh body. Alternatively he may be able to take direct control of any of his duplicates for sending into dangerous situations (Viridian's arc implies this.)
