What set are you addicted to?

It has occured to me that over the last couple of months, every toon that I roll up, is invulnerability. Every time I start to build a toon in mids, I think to myself, "Bet I could do better with Inv."

Is anyone else like this? Should I schedule another appointment with my therapist?

Heh. Nope, no need for therapy.

My first character was a rad/rad defender. My goal has been to try every powerset and as many archetypes as possible...this supposedly would mean no repeat powersets.

...And yet I ended up with my rad/rad defender, An electric/rad controller, a rad/rad corruptor, a fire/rad controller, and a beam/rad corruptor. Whoops!

Willpower. If I don't have a specific armor set in mind when I come up with a concept it invariably becomes willpower. It has its flaws as a set, especially on SOs where I spend 95% of a characters career, but the 'set it and forget it' playstyle more than makes up for it for me.

Fire.

A surprisingly large number of my characters lately are using some Fire set or another, much like DreadShinobi. If I have to choose only one powerset, though, I have to say Titan Weapons.

You know, I don't think... *looks at fire/time, dark/time, ninja/time, arch/time, demon/time...*

Oh.

Plant control.

I have a .. uh .. possibly unhealthy relationship with it.

Heh. I have to remind myself strongly NOT to roll up an Empathy character.

AT... right

Primary... Emp... NO, no, no!

Fire....fire....fire....moar fire...

I struggle to get into other blast sets because of this. :P

Shield/ or /shield

Hmm, I really don't have one in particular... I've played a very wide range of characters. I've played Rad to 50 three times, twice as a controller secondary and once as a defender primary. Dark Miasma twice, once as a defender and once as a corruptor. Invuln twice, once as a tanker and once as a scrapper. Stone Armor twice, both tanks, one stone/fire and one stone/em. Fire Melee four times, twice as a tanker (stone/fire & shield/fire) once as a brute and once as a scrapper. Broadsword twice, once as /regen and once as /shield. Regen twice, both scrappers, one BS, one Spine.

Thinking it over those are the only sets that come to mind that I've played more than once. There's a few lower level characters that repeat sets but not a lot. I tend to roll up something I haven't played before most of the time; that's why my new dark controller went /time as both were sets I had no experience with.

Warshades and Dark Armor.

I love utility, so I always have to make myself not play a dark/ or /dark character. And then about 50% of the time I do it anyway.
It started with one of my first toons, a dark/dark scrapper back when the DA toggles were mutually exclusive, cost 1.5-3x as much as the toggles in any other set, and using siphon life would make people laugh at you. Every time I won a fight I would think to myself, "Yeah. I earned that."

I have been on a /traps kick lately but I am still addicted to Illusion. It will always be my favorite. If I could only have Illusion/Traps.. but I made due with /Trick Arrow.

Illusion, WP and Dark are probably the most prevalent choices for my toons.

Am I allowed to say /Mental without having riot gear on?

Mostly Umbral Blast and Umbral Aura. Nothing will ever be as fun to me as my Warshade is. I also really like Fiery Aura.

In terms of characters I create, I'm not addicted. I have an allergy to repeating powersets or even themed powersets. The only reason I have a Fire/Dev Blaster, a Fire/SR Scrapper, and an Elec/Fire Dom is they're all variations on a central character concept, just utilizing different powers. Every other character I have has a different powerset combination, even accounting for AT differences.

In terms of powersets I never ever get tired of playing, I heart Titan Weapons to death, as well as my Crab.

4 out of the last 5 characters I've made have used Time Manip. I wouldn't use the word "addicted" though, so much as wanting to try different combos and ATs with it.

I'm addicted to fire. 2 fire blasters, 2 fire corruptors, 2 fire scrappers, an earth/fire dom, a fire/kin controller, and an ss/fire brute. Several other toons also have the fire epic pools.

I also play a lot of /wp, and I've rolled several energy aura toons since the changes, though most are low level.

Storm... Bots... and of course Bots/Storm

Mercenaries. Merc/time, Mer/pain, Merc/traps...you get the picture.

Energy Armor and Street Justice. It is all I an do not to use one of these on every melee toon I have made since i21.

Guess it is a good thing though, because EA used to be avoided like the plague. Now I look at and think "I can do it ALL with this!"

I will make a positive statement in favor of EA as well. It is an excellent set now.
