What set are you addicted to?
Fire Blast on Corruptors, I have to force myself to roll as something else.
Bots for MMs
Radiation Emission for Controllers, it's my go-to secondary for them. Though /Time might become competition for that in certain builds.
/Shields for Scrapper/Brutes. Great damage potential, and good enough survivability later in the game with the right build.
I am addicted to my kat/SR scrapper. When I try to play something else I either find myself going to SR as secondary or katana for primary. Odd enough I manage to select other sets since my inner voice of (try something totally different) kicks in.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
Anything/ Masterminds and Martial Arts
Because Masterminds are uncommon, I like being unique, and makes me use tactics when I play this game.
Martials Arts is always a great thematic power.
Hmmmm....
I don't think I really have a power set I go to more than any other, but then again, I've got a metric ton of characters, too. Now, I will go through phases of one set a bit more than others, usually as characters come to mind or I try to find a combo I like, but then they sink back down into the "mass of characters."
Though now I'm curious. Wonder if I can get the info from the Titan network on my (somewhat old) list of characters and find out.
Hmm.. yep. Thought I remembered that.
Primaries: EAT/VEATs take up three slots, so I'm skipping them as, while you can make playstyle changes, it kind of skews things.
Robotics - 10
Plant control - 9
Fire control - 8
Fiery Aura - 7
Shield - 7
Empathy - 6
Fire blast - 6
Secondary - same, skipping epics:
Radiation emission - 13
Storm - 10 (which I'm somewhat surprised at.)
Dark Miasma - 9
Nin - 8
Energy Manip - 6
Fiery Aura - 6
Invuln - 6 (Though I think I rerolled one of those.)
Looks like fiery aura and radiation, tied at 13, are the ones City Info Tracker sees most, at least. 13 out of 304 it has listed... so nothing really outstanding percentage wise.
Dark anything and Regen toons
I have:
Katana/Dark Brute
Dark/Shield Scrapper
Dark/Fire Tank
Dark/Dark Def
Dark/Dark Controller
Dark/Invuln Brute
Regen would be my other favorite I have 3 of those...I would have more but you can't get regen on anything but a melee toon...
Currently Playing:
Rage King - SS/Regen Brute (50+3)
Soulfire Darkness - Dark/Fire Tank (50+2)
Deaths Final Embrace - Kat/Dark Brute (50+3)
ULTIMATE REGEN GUIDE I22
Huh, I am truly surprised that this set hasn't been mentioned, as I thought this was likely a fairly commonly repeated choice, but Super Strength is the one set that I seem to keep kicking out character concepts with.
I mean, it is the one set I have 3 separate characters currently using (SD/SS Tank and two Brutes - SS/SR and SS/Inv).
And I have a few more characters that would fit SS.
One other character was going to be SS, but ended up getting MA with the alternate animations (and that worked out much better for the character).
I still have another character that will use MA too...
Still, nothing is more addictive than my E3 Blaster... but I only have one so far.
Three Super Strengths though... so far...
and round up everyone that knows more than they do"-Dylan
Dark Miasma. I have five DM characters... and that was long before we got Dark Control and Dark Affinity.
To a lesser extent, Regen. Oft treated as the red-headed step-child of melee sets, I am into its reaction-time-centric playstyle, despite originally hating that it was changed into that in days of yore. I have four /Regen characters - two Scrappers and two Stalkers.

it's the only melee powerset that isn't just a collection of damage and skippable knockback
WP and Time Manip.
It helps that their the closest I can fit to my namesake (who I roll up new variations of often) and Time Manip, if I'm rolling a support type, just fits almost any theme/concept (doesnt even have to be a time manipulator in concept).

Willpower. Just set it and forget it, and never need to worry about Mez again.
More recently, I'm having to make reasons not to have Street Justice.

I like Dark Armor because I like having buttons that keep me on my feet or put me back on my feet or stun everything trying to kill me.
I'd take Invulnerability before Willpower because I'd still have Dull Pain for a reaction type power.
Where to now?

Willpower is just too boring for me. It either works or it doesn't.

Incarnate stuff hitting more and debuffing more changed all that though, and not having a reactionary 'uh oh' button has seen me rethink a lot of my toons.
On topic: Bots is the only set I have repeated (IE: Got to level 50), but I only have 17 toons. I call bots my fave set but it is my fave MM set and before GR MM's were the only villain AT I could stomach (Still are really, but I like them less and less now that content has death patches etc so MM's get the shaft).
I tend to go for Fire based epic pools though, more damage is always nice
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!
I strive not to repeat powersets. My playtime is generally so limited that I almost feel like I'm cheating myself if I'm not playing something 'new'. Of course, a character with a different AT or alternate powerset is still a completely different experience, but it still feels... weird. It also somehow makes the character feel less like 'themselves' if another one of my characters shares the set. That said, there are a few powersets that I either actually do have repeats of or or which I often find tempting to use on new characters despite having one already.
Storm is a big one. I have this on two characters and more are always suggesting themselves. It's just so much FUN. Yeah, blah blah, knockback, scatter, chaos, etc, etc, but sometimes you just have to throw a tornado at something. It doesn't hurt that it's also FREAKING AWESOME once you get the hang of it.
Dark miasma is another, just because it's so dang good. Everything I could ever want in a support set, and meshes extremely well with my playstyle. Also two characters, also a frequent contender for new ones.
Stone melee, because SMASH KABOOM CRUNCH KERPOW. No set in the game is more viscerally satisfying. Also, omg orange numbers and mass knockdown and mass stuns and mag 4 hold. Only one character, but that's just because scrappers don't have it yet.
Time is rapidly becoming a contender for this, too. Only one so far, but it's so tempting for so many reasons. And I keep being tempted to roll /traps on a MM even though I already have it on a defender.

What the hell? Let's buff defenders.

Most, if not all, are variations on my namesake (minus the X...had to add that for forum name).
Raiken: Elec/Dev/Elec blaster (wierd combo, huh?)
Dark Raiken: EL/EL/Mu Brute
Raiken the Stalker: EL/EL/Soul Stalker (who woulda guessed)
Dom Raiken: EL/EL Dominator (bit of a patten forming here)
Kin Rai: KM/EL stalker
Kinetic Raiken: KM/EL scrapper.
Raiken the Summoner Demon/Thermal/Mu Mastery (eventually) mastermind.
Gunslinger Raiken: DP/EL/Munitions (I couldn't resist the "fwoosh BOOM" of LRM) blaster (pictured in my avatar)
All of them follow the same basic look...short...white hair (wild)...with a white tail (OMG i was so thrilled when we finally got animated tails!)

That being said though, my Merc/Pain and Merc/Time can do more or less what all my other MM's can do. Just the other sets tend to be able to do it faster or more safely, or both in some cases...
