55+25 Mill for Atrals...not bad better than 100 Mill I'll say. You can get your Incarni Powers and Craft some ATOs .

Really... Don't strain yourselves.
If you are literally spending cash, then it depends on how you buy points. The best case scenario is buying points $100 at a time and buying the superpacks 24 at a time, for a net $0.625 per pack, or 160 packs per $100.

Of course most people won't do that. $30 buys you 2640 points, which buys you 40 packs (a pack of 24, a pack of 12, and 4 singles) with 40 points left over, which would be about the effective price of the 24 pack if you bought the points a buck at a time.

This doesn't count the reward tokens you'd get for spending that money.

Here I was, all worried that I would be spending money that I probably shouldn't spend and be saving for something more important, like a new scarf, or a tattoo. This is why I love you guys over at Paragon. thanks to you I can breath a sigh of relief as I keep all of my money!

In case the sarcasm wasn't obvious enough, No, I do not support the idea of gambling for goods and am in no way shape or form going to spend a single penny on them.

If these items were offered for purchase, even at a slightly higher than reasonable amount, I would have considered purchasing some of the things on the list that appeal to me.

Reward Merit purchases of ATOs is already Live.

Alignment Merit purchases of ATOs isn't available in Beta... you sure it's going Live?

This also lead to having multiple full ATO sets, hundreds of those other random things and over 5k merits. Others seem to have gotten the set in even less.
And I opened over 300 packs on beta to 'not' find the Black Wolf.

The costume set seems to finish somewhere between 10-35 packs or so (which equals $10-35), I'm sure Arcanaville has calculated the exact bell curve.

Prices have triple or more since then, in general, for the same booster packs through the Paragon Market today.

I would love to buy the Animal pack if they ever re-bundle it, but not at $25 or so, for what it is costing today.

  • Empyrean Merits: Not available
Now for the big question: are the ATO's worth it?

Stalker proc: definitely
Brute proc: maybe
Scrapper proc: maybe
Dominator proc: probably better off slotting for more damage
Tanker: Yes
Defender proc: IMO, yes (much better than the Entropic Chaos proc)
SoA proc: yes
Kheld proc: yes
MM proc: IMO, no (compared to what you'd invest on other pet positional defense Uniques)

Account bound, or character bound? I'm wondering if I have to keep them on a toon forever if I upgrade, or I can at least move them around among my own characters.

Minor clarification: are the entire ATO sets for their bonuses worth it. I've read up on them at paragon wiki and some seem nice, and apparently upgrading all 6 augments the set bonuses, if so, what are the set bonuses with all 6 ATO having been augmented?

Market seems to be working, just not for Purple'd ATO's(but that's expected, they are bound to account).

I *am* able to buy them from the merit vendor right now, and Astral Christy. Can't use Hero/villain merits for them, though(Unable to use those for ATO's on Beta either).

Ultimate, just like all purple sets. EG, damage bonus of 4%, recharge of 10%, some other bigger than normal global numbers for other stuff. Augmenting them just turns them purple, restricts them to level50 and adds superior to their names, just like normal purples have.

In a way, you lose by augmenting, because you no longer have access to the set for all levels. But the stat increases are still nice, especially if you are incarnate content focused and don't exemplar much. But leaving them normal would be a bigger advantage for someone who exemplars often. Unless they just magically get treated as their non-superior versions when you exemplar, but I don't know.

For me, no. Especially being that I have a mild case of altitis.

That's 150,000,000 per set plus either (330+ Astrals, 2400+ Reward Merits, or a ton of points/cash at the PMarket) or whatever the going market rate will be for these.

If you have those kind of resources, then I'm better off leaving that kind of speculation to what your needs dictate.

Am I missing something? I thought we were getting a Paragon Reward option for these, but I don't see it.

@Draeth Darkstar
Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
Code:
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

Jeez I hope they either confirm our measurements or state the new odds. I'm not sure I can justify 2000 superpacks on live ($1250). If experienced stacked I would have enough on beta to go from level 1 to level 50 by killing one minion.

For i22, I'm sure. They have it on Beta.

I'm under the impression the Packs where meant to be saved for i22, but they gave us something special for V-day.

Hm, I've been thinking of the sets that offer some S/L def or NRG def but overall not that impressed yet. Think I'll wait for awhile and tinker with Mids and see how things go.

The Dominator set looks quite useful for permadom building but I can achieve that without the set. Mastermind set looks like it could be done without. Brute set looks useful, and I like the idea of a proc that augments fury on all attacks, blaster's wrath...eh, Kheld Grace could be useful for going perm eclipse or perm light form but those can be achieved without. Think I'll wait.

True. They should release those too. But I wanted to thank them for at least doing this. It can't all be vinegar.

I have to agree w/ folks. I dont mind the Random but the fact that they are not all account wide when you DO get lucky and "randomly" get what you want to get... I work REALLY hard to be able to afford pay-for-play VIP status and this is just beyond re-donk-u-lous. I could buy the outfits outright if they opened up account wide and take time gaining the points to get all of what i want but NOT FOR EACH toon I have. I'd need to win the damn lottery for that.

This is uber dissapointing for me in Coh..to which i just spent over $100 dollars or more for a year long VIP membership...

I hope these suprise random supposedly super packs arnt going to be a rising theme-thing because I'm so unhappy with the current one--- this Professional Librarian has no words.

IF this is the way the packs are going to be released from now on I can see my interest in that aspect of the game not just tanking but downright expiring.

My tanker quite enjoys the set on Defensive Sweep too, why get 15% defense per use, when you can get 15% defense and 6% resist :P
So Tankers benefit pretty well from it with around 20% resist all at most.

Stalkers are going to benefit greatly from theirs with a chance to trigger hide on each attack I think.
