I only bought 5,just wanted shoulder pieces and belt and got those in the first pack lol
I overreacted too, but I think super packs are cool now. Maybe I was just lucky.

I was actually more worried about getting the Wolf Pet. I have no desire for it, so I was all "Don't be unlucky and get that wolf!"
Same, I had the whole Elemental Order set very quickly and I didn't want the wolf.

But I ended up getting it while I was trying to get the Defender ATOs. Which, by the way, I had the most trouble getting. I'm sure it was just the RNG picking on me, but I literally had 3-4 of all of the other AT sets before I got my first Defender ATO.

This. Although to be fair, this isn't anywhere near as bad as what PWE has just done to their flagship American MMO: odds of winning a higher, and the closest thing to a P2W item in there, the ATOs, will be available via a means other than slot-machine gambling come i22. It's not like they, oh, let you unlock a tanker secondary powerset that lets you keep your tanker armor while getting blaster level attacks, and then priced it so that you have to spend at least a couple of hundred dollars to get that powerset, like PWE has done to their game. Twice.

Expect every MMO to eventually include this kind of slot machine gambling; the one-armed bandit is the end-state of capitalism, and as long as it's legal, sooner or later everybody will have to do it. At least City of Heroes is doing it in a relatively non-evil way.

I think you guys should stop complain and give them a try.
I got the belt and the shoulder piece (the pieces I was more intereset of) in the first pack!
Cant wait for next round of super packs!
No thanks, I'll just spend my extra points when I have extra on them.

But Seeing as how there are two new sets coming that WON'T be free for VIPs I'll probably end up spending extra monthly points left over on superpacks sometimes in 2018.

Everyone else have fun.
Your money helps fund items that make the game better so buy as money as you want. mauahahahahhahahhaa, errr, I mean, yay!

What happened to this being still a mostly sub based game with a free to play side option? Now your releasing stuff that VIPs can't even get without gambling for shame paragon. I play other online games with similar mystery boxes/crates/cards what have you but they don't have subs they are truly free to play.

So I ask you paragon studios please let VIP buys these outright without gambling. I like gambling go to the casino and even been to Vegas once you know the difference? I can actually win something worth while(MONEY$$$) I wont gamble for this its like playing the claw machine for a stupid stuffed animal.

I would actually have a use for the reward merits. It's the inspirations that annoy me, since it's actually pretty rare for me to even use inspirations past about level 25 or so. Ditto the enhancement unslotters and enhancement boosters. The odds of ending up spending a buck and getting nothing I want, nothing at all, are uncomfortably high for me.

On the plus side, if you've already unlocked the Shoulders, Backpack and Rifle you have .52% chance of any Very Rare being the Black Wolf Pet as opposed to the .33%. Of course going by the card shuffling and allotment you'll only get a VR card dealt in your pack 79% of the time.

So getting the wolf has anywhere between .41% and .26% chance of dropping everytime you open a Super Pack. Now with luck like that you should be able to hit that exaust port or find a Black Lotus in no time at all...

Maybe it's just me since I solo quite a bit being a loner and Redsider and all but Merits actually are not that easy to get.

Well...I have the entire Order Set and quite a few other goodies...I no longer care about the ATIO's. Even on the market they are selling for 50 -100 Mill a Piece. No Thank You. I'm broke enough in game and real life as it is lol.

I hope the money I just dished out goes to an Ice/Ice Brute, Revamp of Mercs, Revamp of /Poison or more Dom Stuff lol.

It's there now. Funny, when I searched for 'scrapper' and the names of the other ATs on the AH last night on Beta, nothing was coming up. But it is now.

Also, it's important to note that the ATO's purchased using Reward Merits/Hero Merits are coming with Issue 22. The wait should not be very long.
You mean the 28th, right?

This is the most expensive costume set EVER.

But I'll end up with a stack of ATIOs at the end...

How do the volume discounts look, and how many do we get for a token? Still five?

Cant you make the wolf pet a reward for a huge tf or trial? I fight off all Arch heroes and more one by one to get it.
I can understand the concerns you have, but 'never' is too strong a word to use -- I opened a few and got the wolf pet on my third one. Some people will be lucky; possibly even you. Some people will be unlucky, and that's why a deterministic route should be made available.

CoH CCG = NO SALE

A la carte items in store = $$SALE$$

In order to get a bit more mileage out of the Super Packs I started using up my various Paragon Rewards consumable freebies a while ago. I'm left with only a few Enhancement Unslotters now. That wasn't too bad, double/team insps are cool and the occasional Windfall or XP Booster is nice to have.

So here's what I'm going to do:

1) Only buy the 5 packs/1 Reward Token, or one with my VIP points if there is nothing else I want.

2) Not buy any more until I've used up all the consumables in the previous batch.

3) Stop buying them immediately once I have the full EleOrder set.

That's a crappy discount...

I was looking for something along these lines

15 Packs 800 Points

45 Packs 1600 Points

I guess I was crazy to think the Bulk discount would actually mean something...

So where's the option for those of us who have Reward Tokens banked for these things? It's not live yet?

How convenient...

Nah, it's called proper planning.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

These remain a devastating disappointment, really. Exactly as when they were first announced, this is nothing more than a blatant money grab that's not even disguised as quality content.

I'll be using my outstanding tier-9 reward tokens for these, since I've racked a ton up anyway and most of the stuff in that tier is just as useless, but I won't be putting down any actual money on these.

I got the set after around 12.

Then after around 60 or something more I got a wolf.

This also lead to having multiple full ATO sets, hundreds of those other random things and over 5k merits. Others seem to have gotten the set in even less.

Well someone on Liberty already has the Black Wolf (vanity) Pet; he got it on his 7th pack he said.

He won in pvp too...congrats devs, he just paid to win (I didn't have the black wolf pet)

Yes this post was sarcastic
