It's very unlikely we'll alter course on this in the immediate future.
So yay, no corsets or skirts for male characters! XD

I'm okay with this, having a mix of male and female characters. Besides, it works out like in real life as well, barring one detail. Let's just be glad female pieces aren't quadruple the paragon point price of male pieces.

I don't know why Dink thinks she's not as sexy as Jay was. In 5 posts she's already upstaged his entire career.

(Good job, keep up the good work and you'll have lots of friends on the boards here)

Thanks Dink, I've been wanting the Baron jacket for my Time/Beam Defender ever since before I re-rolled her from being a FF/DP Defender!

In fact, I'm quite sure that everyone on Paragon's payroll has gone above and beyond for the playerbase. It's why I've stayed subscribed for 7 years.

Dink is amazing, and deserves 1.21 gigawatts of praise for her work.

This might not have been the place for expressing such sentiment, but it didn't deserve ridicule or a frivolous dismissal. After the uproar over the Gunslinger pack we saw the Carnival of Light pack released with wonderful bits for female avatars but nothing substantial for males. The new Imperial Dynasty armor has plenty of amazing pieces, but the only unique-to-a-sex items are for females only (crowns, specifically). The Pocket D Valentines day pack again had plenty of stuff for everyone but only exclusive items for female characters.

Now the most requested piece of wardrobe that was distinct for the male avatar has been ported to be for everyone, and female avatars get access to two full costume sets in the Gunslinger pack - including the single costume set that's available for male characters. After the hullabaloo surrounding favoring male costume bits, it's looking like the costume department has shifted to the other extreme.

What was asked for was equivalent costume pieces, designed with a masculine or feminine flair on the same theme. But instead of getting distinct options for both, it appears that female avatars are getting the male costume pieces ported directly along with something extra.

I'm carefully phrasing things with "looks like" and "appears" because I don't know what's coming down the pipe - The Carnival of Light was being worked on before things blew up over the Gunslinger Pack, as was probably the Club Outfits. But for crying out loud, can we get a "Clockfaced belt is on it's way!" instead of a disgruntled meme? Distinct options for everyone, please.
QFT.

Like it or not, what he is saying appears to be true. I like Zwill, but I think his response was in poor taste.

Edit: Well after Zwill's last post the word "appears" seems to incorrect. I dislike the decision immensely.

I can't be bothered to get all pessimistic and whine about unique pieces and other stuff. This is pretty great news and I'm super thrilled that it's happening. Thanks, Dink! I never even knew you existed and now you're already tied for favorite.

So when do guys get the magic bolero and the butt capes?

I wouldn't mind that, but for some reason I don't see it happening.

This, is totally awesome.

The announcement to my SG tomorrow about this will get a VERY happy reaction.

Thank you.

That is all.

Why? We're not going to be getting any less csotume parts than before.

I want to add something to this: for those lamenting extra work focused on female parts, please remember that males have two body types, so if there were an even number of parts for each gender, extra work would still be spent on males.

If females get a few extra typically-for-females parts like dresses, heels, and corsets, it helps keep the work spent on each gender to be somewhat equal, while minimizing the "I wish I had that part" reaction from the people who play male characters.

There is no option to make everyone happy. If we have 100% gender parity in parts, then males get more options (due to the second body type) and females don't get any "girly" (for lack of a better word) stuff, and if we have 100% gender parity in workload, males get significantly less parts (not necessarily half, but not a trivial amount less). If we have 100% parity in number of parts but give females more "girly" options, then we get situations like the Gunslinger pack (prior to this update). They're trying to find a compromise between those three options, and it means males have more work spent on them, and females get a few more parts.

I can't really see a more fair way to do it.

Yes, you are amazing, my good lady. Simply amazing. I had *just* recently been lamenting the lack of these parts on females...

If you'll excuse me, I need to go dress my pirate queen in her awesomehot baron jacket.

Wow, that's an amazing coincidence. For some strange reason, I just bought the Gunslinger costume pack on both accounts. And that's gotten my points total starting to edge down such that I am thinking maybe of buying more points.

Seriously: Thanks. Thanks a kerjillion.

This right here is what I was afraid of, and specifically arguing AGAINST in those damned "Gender Equality" threads.

As I feared "Gender Equality" did in fact just turn out to mean "Everything for females."
