Sounds pretty fair to me.
Actually, I'm all for getting rid of the Huge model altogether and just expanding the physique sliders. And up until fairly recently (and with an additional $10 cost), it's not like one character could make use of both of those male models.

(Although, as I told someone else tonight, it'd be pretty awesome to see the entire female costume selection get ported over to Huge characters... NO ONE would screw with one dressed as a saloon girl.)

Hey, I've got an idea.

The most common argument here is that women have more clothing options than men in real life, so they should in the game too, right? Okay. Women's clothing costs more in real life than men's, too, so therefore all female costume options should cost more than the male equivalents from now on.

I dunno, man. It doesn't quite track.
Agreed. I don't play females, either, and I love this little update.

I'm not sure what clothing stores you go to, but unless you're talking about major high fashion, I've yet to see a store that charges more for female clothes than mens. At least, not anywhere where I live...

The Science Pack debuted a few years ago now. "Fairly recently" is kind of stretching it.

Ok, quite happy with this news. It was never a huge thing for me, but i certainly can whip up some stuff with a proper female waistcoat, and the cowboy stuff may actually lead me to make a second dual pistol user, that or a ma user, ever since the tekken series, i have gotten used to the idea of a primarily kick based fighter wearing pants like the male cowboy ones(yes, Hwarang is my main )

I will ask that if you find yourself with more time, you did such a great job with some of the older complaints, could you take a look at carnie sashes and masks for males? maybe some widow buttcapes for males as well.

overal, very happy, this was a unexpected but far from unwelcome thing.

Why? I don't roll characters willy-nilly. I come up with a concept first and build according to that. And since I was a big fan of male superheroes growing up, that's where my inspiration usually follows--female superheroes were always too scantily-clad to take seriously.

That said, I AM actually rolling a female alt in i22... a Dark/Dark Controller that's a conservative Japanese shrine maiden.

Hyperbole. I'm still upset, and since I'm pretty sure everyone is laughing at my expense anyway, I might as well tell a few jokes.

I think those disappointed with female characters getting more parts are probably making the wrong argument. Rather than complain about the conversion itself, especially since it was presented as "I had some free time so here's some stuff", perhaps you should advocate that the devs allow a thread for requesting the conversion of "obviously" unisex pieces that are currently gender restricted. The various martial arts bracers and the padded gloves have long been mentioned as being odd that only female characters can use them. This seems like a more productive path to the situation.

So tell me, are you actually losing anything due to this decision? Is your quality of life in or out of game substantially reduced because female characters have a greater variety of costume options? You look like you're really reaching for a reason to complain here.

^^^

This.

Seriously, I had no idea the bracers and padded gloves weren't available for males. That sucks.

I'm losing developer time, apparently. Given this latest development, it now means that the developers are now "wasting time" on costume options that 2/3 of the models in the game can't use, since they've decided to forgo their traditional 2/3 get A and 1/3 gets B and allowed for 3/3 to get A and 1/3 STILL gets B.

Okay, but back in the real world, what's happening is that more costume options are being proliferated to female models while male and huge models are getting the same number of costume options that they have been getting all along. In that same real world, these particular costume pieces were done on Dink's free time, as she said when she posted that thread.

So, you're not losing developer time. What are you really losing here? What damage is being done by the decision to do this?

Don't forget that future 'B' quantities are likely to be significantly lower than they were in the past.

There's a reason this is called a 'compromise'.

Misc Jackets
  • Baron Jacket
  • Baron Jacket with Vest
  • Steampunk Jacket
This is awesome and you're awesome. Thankyouthankyouthankyou.

Good point. I don't play Huge characters (because they're buttugly), so every time they make a M/H only costume piece, I'm losing out TWICE! I guess I should treat the dev time wasted on Huge pieces as a personal insult and complete disrespect of my hard-earned money.

...Or I could be too busy loving this fine coat.

I know, right? Goddamnit. I already need to find out how to budget Staff Melee and the Roman pack...and now the Gunslinger pack needs to fit in there. At least the only one with an expiry date is the Roman pack. I can push the other two back a couple weeks if need be.

Paragon Studios, you are the best MMO studio. That's not just me being nice. It's me being honest. Over the years, I've seen the good and the bad. Now, in your studio, I've seen the best.

Now, I'm rolling up my sleeves.

You dudes who are upset about this (even though we have two body types to choose from instead of one ) probably don't realize how fracking limited and homogeneous the game would become if the devs all woke up one day and decided to see things your way. You're not even really complaining about you getting less. You're complaining about them getting more. And that is nothing but pure unbridled childishness. Welcome to real life, by the way (those who grew up with sisters know what I'm talking about ).

Say whatever you want. Your credibility is shot.
