Stone Armour. I don't like having to turn off my status protection to be able to hop around.

I have one Stone Tank at lvl 41. I'll get him to 50 for ITFs, MS Raids and so forth. Unless the set is changed so that I can step over a curb, don't look like a shale pile and don't feel required to respec out of half the character at lvl 32 I'll never touch it again.

You're not alone. I understand that it's a very nice fire and forget, all round, well balanced set. It just feels as dull as dish water to me.

Trick Arrow. I don't enjoy thematic pairing (i.e. archery/trick), so picking trick arrow always involves lots of redraw for me, which I don't like either.

I got a Bots/Force Field mastermind to level 39 before deciding that I hated both sets. Force Field is boring, and the bots were so noisy I couldn't play with the sound on.

DARK ARMOR

(shudder)

Not for me, thanks.

Any set that's not a top-tier FotM powerset (the bottom 2/3 of the powerset/AT hierarchy)

Any set that forces ugly costume parts and unimaginative concepts on me (Warshades, Crabs)

Any set that clashes with my playstyle (Claws, Traps)

Masterminds.

I forced myself every day to log into my lone MM to simply tell myself one day that I had an MM 50. Never again. So boring.

Also not a fan of dark armor. I have 1 50 DA brute now, she's very tough, but meh. I like to see my characters.

Empathy. And Pain. And to a lesser extent, Therm. All good sets, but I take them too seriously. i spend all my time watching health bars and playing Whack-A-Mole any time someone takes damage. Completely neglect my other set.

I used to hate Storm. Then I tried it- really tried it. Within a month, I had an Earth/Storm, an Ill/Storm, and a Necro/Storm.

Energy Blast. Until the come up with a better way to mitigate KB. And no, "a wall" is not the answer.

Dark Armor. I have a 50+++ Spines/DA scrapper. It was a long, painful, blue-sucking road, but she is finally tough, effective, and fun to play. But I never need to make that trip again.

Peacebringers- To much kb for me
Dual Pistols- Not enough oomph. It lacks the damage compared ot the animation times
Psychic Blast- It felt amazing on most baddies but if you run into a PSi resistant baddie you are pretty much screwed.
Gravity (Pre Buff)- Obvious reasons
Spines- It take forever for you to get a decent chain going. No thanks.
Masterminds- I wanted to feel more like a Summoner but The only sets that give me that feel I think is Thugs, Demons, Illusion and Plant.

Personal reasons usually in that I have a 50 or come close to capping and deleting for not being to my taste are the only reasons i tend not to use power sets in future builds.

Many of my most dusty toons tend to share a set with one of my 50s and hence make leveling them both easier due to familiarity with the set, but dull because I already know exactly what each power does, no new fresh fun feel effect to make it enjoyable to keep leveling.

I also have to LOL at some of the people in this threads comments on certain sets.

Psi blast is THE BEST set for blasters short of the new dark blast. All math aside, its mix of control effects when tactically applied, and built well is always a dominant force in any mission solo or group. My own psi/ment blaster is so beyond what most consider a blaster capable of largely because how I use his soft controls nearly as effectively as a dominator or controller will be in the hands of any but the most veteran players of those ATs.

Kinetics. Even with Time Manipulation, Kinetics is a set with no real equal. be it for a support build or an offender it is THE SET I look for most on would be allies when I form a TF. Give me a kin and a bubbler over ANYTHING else anyday. Oh and empaths are just a LOL like anything worth running cant heal itself damn fine anymore.

Outside of those things, no set is really useless. Some have sub optimal sets to combo with but even those in the hands of one with experiance can be made to wreak devistation among the most formidable foes.

PB KB is awesome, like all KB. the fact thier human form is the true superman build of this game is far to often ignored among the many wannabes in the tank/brute/ scrapper ATs.

DP is true more flash then effect, so are alot of sets if people really knew the truth. one of the best blasters I know next to myself is a DP blaster. Its always more how you use what you have, then the base power of what you have.

My blaster with no equal is a psi/ment/force blaster. NOTHING is strong to psi is the real truth. When compared to the number of mobs that are strong against LoLethal dmg, NewbFire dmg, energy dmg, neg nrg dmg well it just is not as true as people think tha psi has mobs strong to it. Most so called strong psi res mobs only hit around 40%, compared to mobs that hit 80% when strong to any of the other much more common types.

Borrowing from the worst line in comic movie history. " What happens to a tin can hit by a psi tornado? The same thing that happens to everything else!" Cheesy as sin but no less true.

Best troller I known since year one is Grav. Again its not how powerful its baseline but the person behind the build that matters most.

Spine/Fire farm builds: Nuff said there I think.

MM: My only gripe with them has always been the lack of classic cox lore based vil groups. Banished Pantheon or Vahz over necromancer, Tsoo or Knives of artemis over ninja, crey or malta over soldiers. Etc etc etc.... That is the only reason I have never really enjoyed nor lvld up an MM very high. demon has been tempting since they retconned that into infernal and the like making it really the only MM set with a logical niche in the games lore. The rest are just too generic for me to care.

This isn't a thread asking about bad or useless sets. This is about sets that people do not care for.

I'm beginning to suspect that I don't enjoy playing warshades at all. This is not to say that warshades are bad.

Forcefields. Push four buttons (2 shield buffs, PBAoE bubble + Maneuvers) to softcap everyone else, run around like an idiot because you can't do anything to protect yourself without annoying everyone else (PBaoE knockback or repel? Yay) and.. Use your other set, halving how interesting the character could be.

I have a Gravity/Forcefield Controller. I'm sure we can all imagine how interesting that is (eagerly awaiting the i22 changes)

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

Ah, I guess I asked to be attacked when I posted in this thread. I thought this thread was more on the lines of what would you never use again not what I would never play.

DP-Is a nice middle of the road set but I expected a little more out of it. It can be amazing when proc'd out but I think it needs a little more damage added to it. I have a DP/Kin that can really just devastate mobs but I consider DP a lot like Archery: A Great set, but without certain powers it can make leveling tough and sluggish. For me Archery and Dp didn’t truly click until HoB and RoA...now keep in mind this is just my opinion BUT I see this echoed a lot in game and on the Forums. You may be right about DP but I can't help the way I feel about things.

Psi Blast- I made a Psi/Nrg Blaster and I simply LOVED him but I was tired of faceplanting from certain mobs that would shake off my attacks...now keep in mind that they have buffed Psi Blast since then but I'm going on how I feel about the set when I played it. The immob was slow traveling and the activation took forever. A lot of the time critters would already be in my face before the immob/Kb hits. My feelings have nothing to do with what others say about Psi...it comes from what I have experienced. Maybe I should take another swing at it since things have changed *shrug* it will be a while since it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Gravity is NOT the best control set in the game no matter how you look at it sorry. I love the idea of the set; I love Wormhole and Singy but never again (until the buff in beta hits heh, heh). The slow damage, the long activations you get stuck in, the long wait for wormhole, the many flaws of wormhole, it's all a bit rough. I must admit one thing though; Gravity has the Best pet in the game hands down. Singy is a force to be reckoned with he can hang with big mobs, EBs, Av's and even GMs and not break a sweat.

Spines is amazing ONCE you get it to 50. Have you tried leveling a spines? You chain is pretty anemic and only the most devoted can level one without wanting to rip out their hair.

You beat me to it.

Electric Blast. It makes me hate life.

Radiation Emission. If I get one to level 50, I'll be expected to use it, even when I don't want to, just because Rad is considered "necessary". I hate the idea of asking "What should I bring?" and getting "Your rad" 90% of the time.

Ice Control. Just too low on damage for me.

Dark Armor. The graphics just don't pull off "darkness" to me. I feel like it looks more like pigpen or like a graphic representation of being surrounded by a bad smell (Hmm... actually, maybe I can make that in to a concept...)

Peacebringers/Warshades. Both ATs just have so many powers, and there just aren't enough slots for all the things I want.
