Johnny Blaze is back...does look nice. Now maybe I don't remember correctly but in the first film wouldn't he lose his Ghost Rider powers in daylight? Guess maybe God is giving him the ability to use these powers in daylight to help the boy. I think I might like to see this movie.

Wow, that looks even worse than the first movie. Also, did that scene of him spitting the bullets back out at the thug appear in the previous teaser trailer, or did they reuse the gag from the first movie? I could swear I've seen that before.

It was in the previous teaser.

Nicholas Cage says it's not a sequel, and the writer says it's "not exactly a reboot". It is set eight years after the first movie.

The most entertaining quote from the writer: "It doesn't contradict anything that happened in the first film, but we're pretending that our audience hasn't seen the first film."

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Fixed that for ya there.

(Okay, I admit, Ghost Rider is a guilty pleasure of mine, but then, so in Nic Cage).

Looks better then the first one. Now if only the fight scenes are longer and better all should be well with this film..well that and not having so many cheesey "points and say something" moments from Cage.

It... looks better, story wise, than the first one. Yeah, it's gimmicky, but then, what comic isn't?

I'm... iffy. Maybe I'll see it.

Looks bad ***. If the action scenes aren't stiff like in the last movie, I'll love it.

In the 70's Ghost Rider series, Blaze at first would automatically transform at night whether he wanted to or not. Then as the devil kept tormenting him, his powers would change so that he would auto-transform in the presence of "Evil" whether it was day or night. Soon after Blaze "Beat the devil" or at least thought he did for the rest of that series he quickly learned that he could transform at will into the Rider at any time. Eventually though the demon within him kept getting stronger and stronger and control was fading to the point where the Rider could force the transformation, but then so could Blaze.

From what I've read it's a "stand alone" in that it's not a sequel or a reboot. We allegedly get a new origin scene of Blaze making the deal with the devil, but regardless it is eight years after the first movie.

The first movies prime flaw was treating the Rider like he was Spiderman by giving him snappy one liners like when he grabbed the Earth elemental and said "Hey, dirtbag!" or when he faced the air elemental he said "Time to clear the air!"

This is GHOST RIDER, NOT SPIDER-MAN. Now this next movie looks like they are still going for PG-13 but judging by the action scenes they are going to push the boundaries of the PG 13 rating....that is GOOD.

Eh looks fun. The first movie was a kick back with a drink and put your feet up and have fun type of film and this one looks to be much the same. Great film? No. Fun film? yes.

I dunno about this. I see: more action + slashed budget = flop waiting to happen.

Same thing i thought when I watched the movie. It was entertaining enough, but I kept thinking..."So this is the Spirit of Vengeance and they have him cracking jokes. Theyve turned him into a demonic Jerry Seinfeld...jeeeesh."

Hopefully more with the making the bad guys pay and less with the funnies this time around.

Basically, the comics started to show less and less of Blaze and more of the Rider. The generally Blaze would only be in maybe one page of a book if at all. I always tripped over how people were so hung up on Nick Cage playing him, concidering Blaze was pretty much a non-entity in the Ghost Rider books. And the pages he was on, he displayed zero personallity was basically there to a set up for the Rider's appearance.
