It is almost as if you could choose not to buy these things if they are not worth the money to you, and if enough people don't buy they stop trying to sell weapons packs. Of course you run the risk of people disagreeing with you and buying it because they have a different sense of value than you do.

Nono, that character wasn't the one using Tartan Weapons. That one had Stripe Justice.

The only difference is they waited a few months, probably so people wouldn't rage.
ok, did not see that, foot in mouth there then.

You didn't put your foot in your mouth at all. We have no idea at all if the devs are going to do the same brief free giveaway promotion with the Staff pack that they did with the Titan Weapons pack.

The Titan Weapon pack was offered for free to everyone for a week maybe two at the most. After the giveaway it was sold for 250-300 points.

If the devs choose to run the same promotion as before, Yippee! for us.

If not, the crybabies will just have to get over it. The devs aren't obligated to offer everything for free before putting the official price tag on it.

The bonus staves aren't really vital anyhow. The original options weren't too limited, you had all the basic things you needed, as well as a few extras.

YEAH! How dare they try to make money! It's almost like they're trying to be some kind of business or something! EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FREE!!!

I really don't think this is a valid response to anyone who ever points out when the company crosses into "money grubbing" territory. (I don't know that I agree regarding this particular issue) but just because it is a business doesn't mean that any ploy or plan they use that might generate money is a good one.

There really is a line, and it really can be crossed (I'm just not sure whether this particular issue crosses that line). However, it really does seem kind of ridiculous to be purposely limiting in the options that are released for free and then charge people for the other options that could have likely been released at the same time considering at least a few of them were already in use in the game already.

Then again, you must remember weapon skins come above and beyond all the animations and mechanics for the power sets. They don't just press a button and the weapon self-renders. Someone has to make those like someone has to make the powers, and those people need to get paid for that work.

But "CAPITALIST PIGDOGS!" anyway, right?

So... by that logic the folks who created all of the weapon customizations when i11 launched worked for free since there was no purchasable pack for it?

Also, let's try to keep our responses reasoned. I for one am not arguing anything like that.

How many power sets on average were we getting back then?

That practice is pretty common in the modern video game industry as a whole, not just for Paragon Studios. Some games have had entire sections cut out and turned into DLC, despite being finished and available on the disc itself, already ready for release. And the company will make you buy a key to unlock it, just so they can charge you twice.

For Staff Fighting, I don't know where it stands. It's been months since Staff came out. They might not of had any of these new models sketched, let alone designed at the time. Now that they've had the time they needed to plan it out and work on it, they were able to create more Staff skins, which they're releasing as an update. That's fine, that's what DLC's supposed to be for. Regular, new content updates you couldn't work into the launch due to schedule and resource issues, that help keep your product fresh and interesting.

Or maybe they've had these models ready since Staff's launch, but they wanted to avoid backlash and also milk us steadily instead of all at once, so they release them months later. Which isn't fine, is underhanded, and creates a reputation that all they care about is money versus creating a good, finished product they can be proud of. Who knows. I sure don't.

But with Titan Weapons they had the extra models right there, perfectly ready to be used at the powerset's launch. And yet they got restricted behind this faux-DLC practice I mentioned above, causing us to pay twice if we wanted the whole product. Fortunately they curbed this by giving it away for free for two weeks, even if you didn't own TW. But it's still causing us to pay twice for one finished product. Sure, you don't have to buy the new skins. No one's putting a gun to your head over it. But then you'll be getting an incomplete item that was broken into pieces just so those pieces could be sold separately for more money.

Probably a VEAT that doubles up on the Leadership abilities and focuses on Power Pools. Buffs for everyone and powers that everyone can use.

Depends on the accuser's definition of "money grubbing territory". In this case, it was a perfectly valid response.

Let's not forget costume sets, since that one is more relevant to weapon skins. That still supports your point, though.

Are these the same Weapon Skins added separately when TW 1st came out (and I got) or are these more skins?

It's a necro. The thread originally was posted when they first came out. Nothing to see here.

Hi guys,

I'm closing this thread due to Thread Necromancy. Please avoid posting in a thread that hasn't seen activity in some time, as it can confuse readers with old, out-of-date information, and pushes more relevant, current threads from the front page of a forum.

Thanks!
