Not only do they price the consumables backwards to other MMOs, but the consumables in this game are worth vastly less than in other MMOs.

Really, what are those inspirations and self-rezes worth? 1000 inf and a minute and a half using global mail?

If you've got that much money to burn, it would be cheaper to hire someone to sit there and mail inspirations to you when you need them.

With one day to go on the event where this pack is supposed to be of use, I have to admire the sense of timing of whomever decided to put it on sale AND the huge cheek to ask 400 pts for it.

Golfclap to both, old boys.

Pilgrim hat? I'd buy that for a dollar! I'd love to make this character:

Solomon Kane FTW!

and lets not forget, it's not only a vat of consumable items to a cheeky price.. they're items you can get for free by running the Striga Island story arcs..

stop trying to trick people into paying for useless stuff, either provide items of value/usefulness enough for the price your asking or dont bother at all.. honestly, dont..

Heh, thinking about it, if they had bundled a Hail to the King badge or a temp power named Boomstick, they probably would have gotten more buyers.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

However, I realise that many people may spend points on consumables, so I don't have a problem with them been in the store.

As long as they don't market them in a such a way to try and trick people into the purchase without realising they are limited consumables, or worst, include then a deal with non-consumables just to jack up the price.

In this case I don't see any issues.
If the choice is between consumables and gear (i.e. recipes) I will take consumables on the market any day. The idea of buying enhancements for real money, in other words pay to win, really rubs me the wrong way. When they start selling purples, pvp IOs, and market only recipes for cash I'm out of here. If someone want to waste their money on a temporary power that gives then a benefit for a short time more power to them.

This should have been on the market at the start of the Halloween event. Kinda strange that it appears at the end of the event where all the criders spawn that we would have used these powers on.

Wow, 12 pages of pretty united dislike for this week's release. Hopefully they heard our voices loud and clear on how we feel about junk like this being released on the market.

Content: Bad
Timing: Bad
Pricing: Bad

I really hope for next week's release, they knock it out of the park, but I have a feeling I'm going to be let down again. Most likely going to be the 10 minute, 3 mission Signature Story Arc next week. I'm thinking those will be much cooler after the whole 7 part arc is out and you can do it all at once.

I have to say I'm surprised by all the negativity. I mean, I'm not planning to buy it either, but it never crossed my mind to complain about it. I think it's a fun idea to have a pack of things for sale that are tied in to an in-game event like that. Unfortunately, they missed the event...

Maybe it's a question of expectation. I'm expecting at least 75% of the stuff they add to the market will be silly junk that I'm not going to buy. In fact, I hope it is, because I won't get any more points for a few weeks. Other people seem to expect that there will be enormous, game-changing, mind-boggling additions every week for 100 points.

But this zombie pack does make me wonder what they might offer for the next event. What if, right at the beginning of the winter event, they offered a bundle with a bunch of candy canes, a permanent santa hat, a temporary jingle jet, and a temp power to boost your speed or help with mid-air steering like combat jumping or inertial reduction (to help with the ski slopes). And a few presents that you could give to other people. Or something like that. I think that would be fun (although I probably wouldn't buy it). But it might stomp too much on the stuff that you can unlock through the event. I dunno. I hope they're thinking about it though.

Well, since they already hinted at Titan Weapons when they announced the Halloween Event, and since the powerset even was briefly available (before they quickly took it down again), I believe I can guess what happened.

1. Titan Weapons was scheduled to be released on November 1st.
2. During Beta testing, the developers discovered that the set still required some tweaks, fixes, or changes.
3. There was not enough time to test the newest version of the set. Thus, the developers decided to hold it back.
4. In order to avoid having a week with no new releases at all, they needed a quick replacement.
5. Since there also was not enough time to create something really new, they bundled together a few temporary powers and called it the Undead Survival Kit, in order to loosely tie it into the running event.

The kit probably won't have too many buyers. However, considering that some players already complained about getting "too much too soon", I think it's a good idea to have a few weeks where you don't feel compelled to buy all the new releases.

Maybe it's just me, but killing 100 summoned Illusionists to get the Carnie hammer and 200 Family bosses to get the +HP accolade isn't what I call fun. I'd happily buy those options so I can use them to do things in game I do consider fun with them.

The idea for a pack like this is cool, but the price is way to high for the actual contents.

I'd say very few people in this thread expect earth-crushing things at discount prices, they just want something that feels more solid for their points. A single costume part, a non-combat pet using the same code as the holo-pets (a shrunk down CoT ghost would be fun), or a small discount on some storage would have produced a smaller and less negative thread. Even a different costume transformation (even if some people are negative on them) would have gone over better if it was something new like turning into a streng or warwolf. I don't think any of those would reflect a crushing amount of dev time and would be better for generating good will at this still early point in the market's life cycle.

That's the problem here. With the exception of the whistle, none of the temp powers really benefit the player. using the attacks results in a lower chance to hit and less damage than if you used a normal attack. It's not a choice some people can make if they need an extra boost, instead it's a con to get money from people who don't understand the game.

It's difficult to think of a consumable that would be worth buying in this game, and while I understand the devs wanting consumables to be popular, they have not yet succeeded in finding any that are actually useful in this game.

Well, actually. This pack would be a big boon for a non-vet new character. It would give you a full attack chain at low levels, self heals, and a Pet to help you kill your first few EBs, and with Beginner's Luck, the Temp Powers would hit. Still costs too much, but in this situation, it would be useful.

It's pretty much superfluous for a vet or high level character.

I expect the next temp pack will be the Christmas pack, available January 1st!

For a single character as long as you level quickly. Really, if you're using it as part of an attack chain, how long is a 25 charge bat going to last?

self heals
Nothing in this set gives you this ability.

That's just a picture of a med kit, nothing like that actually comes with the pack.

The pet is nice, but it's less than a quarter of the pack and can be purchased separately.

I like this pack.

*shrugs*

Unless you plan on blowing the temp powers in one day, I do not see it as a poor investment.

Question: If temp powers are to become more commonplace on the market, would you prefer temp powers with lots of charges (50+ or more) or would you prefer an unlimited use variety only for a limited time?

I think it would be wise for them to test their options (and they appear to be doing this, which is good, all trial-and-error woes aside), but personally I'd prefer lots of charges. Altitis is common in this game and it sucks to feel pressure to play a particular character because they've got a limited time power on them. However, if the limited-time power is account wide, then that changes things somewhat, but not enough to become my stronger preference.
