It's not like there's anything I can really buy after all with the Tokens I do have. They still haven't switched out Celestial for whatever comes next and I'm not really wasting any on that Tier 9 stuff.

You only get 1 token for a retail account no matter how many retail codes are applied to that account.

You could have any or all these:
  • City of Heroes basic
  • City of Heroes Collectors Edition DVD
  • City of Heroes Deluxe Edition (Europe only)
  • City of Villains
  • City of Villains Collectors Edition DVD
  • Good Vs Evil Retail
  • Architect Edition
  • Mac/Valkyrie Edition
  • Going Rogue on-line code
  • Going Rogue: Complete Collection (either the retail or full complete edition code)
If you had any or all of the above, you get a maximum of one reward token for them.

See, the mistake I made was thinking each of those gave a separate (and cumulative) token rather than just one token despite how many of those separate things a person may have.

So this system is so fouled up I have to ask. Do we get our market points on our old vet reward day or the 11th of every month? Or some other formula?

Alright this is getting me pissed. I just applied a 60 day game card. Seen my billing date change so I know it took. No Reward tokens (2months = 2 tokens), No Points ( 2x 400 should be 800). Sent a petition and no response, no email, nothing. Excuse me but weren't we the paying people suppose to have a priority customer service?

1. You won't get the tokens until each month passes - so you will see one token after the first 30 days, and the second as the time runs out at 60 days. They had hoped to set it so that paying for time would front-load the tokens, but that was determined impossible 'at this time' though they hope to one day get a chance to make the front-loaded tokens work for paid time - right now the only token at time of payment is for buying Paragon Points.

2. The Paragon points issue is similar - if you still had paid time remaining, you should get your points a month after you last got them (roughly - the day of your billing date regardless of month - so if next billing date is Jan 15, then you'd get points on Nov 15th and Dec 15th - however, there have been some bugs in the scheduling of these grants since the head start, but that mostly hits players with billing dates between the 1st and 13th of the month - they are working on getting those synced back to billing date, but until then, anytime between billing date and the 12th or thereabouts will be when you get them. Again though, you get one stipend of points each month, not all delivered up front for all your paid time.

Also - you might keep in mind that Billing is swamped with these questions right now so they have a backlog, also, I'm not sure what their hours are, but they aren't like ingame support working 24/7 on billing issues - it is roughly 7:40pm there, I'm not sure when you submitted the ticket, but I've seen billing tickets submitted in the last month take up to a couple of days for a response - and they don't always send emails with updates it seems, so check your support account for updates as well - once a ticket has been created by the first level folks, you can keep an eye on it. But the token thing is as expected - aka not immediate but at the end of each played and paid month instead of all up front and the points issue is also not front loaded unless you're buying the points directly - stipends aren't upfront for all paid time (I'm not sure about a stipend when you first pay for an account that wasn't active though...is the stipend at the end of the played month as well - just on the billing date the following month? Anyone know?)

Well once again, if you got a problem post on the forums then yo get a reply. granted it was the standard cut n paste reply.

"This may be most common for customers using a Game Time Card to pay for their subscription. Please also note that while you do pay for game time in advance, you will have to play through your month of time before receiving your Paragon Reward Token."

So I get the reward after my time runs out? Whoopee!!!!

Weren't they working on getting your stuff when you paid up front? This is not the vetren reward for time played. But the new Pargon Rewards for being a paying player.

Again, as explained in the post above yours in point 1, they wanted to implement it at launch but it ended up not being done.

So, I have access to the first four (and a half) tiers of VIP rewards. Plus all of Tier 9. However, I do NOT have access to the Tier 9 VIP rewards (IE: The Celestial stuff). My paid subscription is currently active (as it has been for about a year and a half). Is this correct, or should I be submitting a petition?

This all confuses me, I would appreciate any clarification.

I'm a little unclear on something... if you are only at Tier 4 (and a half) filled, then you don't have Tier 9 - or shouldn't. VIP or otherwise. Now, because of the re-claimable nature of the Tier 9 regular consumable items - the circles look different and I believe might appear as though you might be able to slot something in them before filling up Tier 8, but you can't actually click it and slot a token there. (Unless you have some previously unknown bug that allows this)

To access Tier 9 VIP you need to have at least 34 tokens put into the reward shrub (Tier 8 entirely filled) and have a paid subscription before you can place a token in one of the VIP item reward bubbles. To claim the Tier 9 regular items, you must have the same 34 tokens filling all the bubbles through the lowers tiers through tier 8. Really, to claim any tier you have to have everything in the previous tier filled in - tier 9 and tier 9 VIP are no different in that regard - though to claim tier 9 VIP you do NOT have to fill in the tier 9 consumables first (treat all of tier 9 as a single tier, you can fill in any bubble in tier 9 once all of tier 8 is full, but you can only fill in the VIP ones if you're a VIP)

Does any of that make sense? Or did I misunderstand something in there? Since you can either have ONLY 4 and a half tiers filled in, or all through tier 8 filled in and access to tier 9 but not both simultaneously. Clear as mud?

Speaking of which, Paragon Points are still fubared. At least for me, anyway. I had to let my account lapse for a few days, and started it up on October 6th. It took until well after (the 14th) to get the points, which was well after community mods said it should have come in (the 10th).

And here I am on the 9th, still without the November points. I'm going to be depressed and assume it will take until the 14th again, since that's when my account seems to like to be awarded. It's still annoying that it doesn't happen right on the billing date, and it's annoying that I still don't have Street Justice to play just because I'm waiting for my account to be awarded the points it should have received days ago.

Please, keep working on this. Make it work right.

They should just fix it so that we get the Character Transfer Token, the Paragon Points, and the Paragon Reward Token the first time you log into the game after the morning of the 1st of the month.

I guess that is too simple, too easy to communicate, and too easy for their PAYING CUSTOMERS to understand. Clearly whoever was in charge of the design of the customer "perks" forgot the K.I.S.S. principle. They should be reminded of it.

Speaking about "whoever was in charge", I guess Second Measure lost interest in the monthly Producer's Letter.

Ironically, I had a support person say I should get my points on "or around" the 6th, as that is when my bill date is. But then they mentioned that I got my points on the 14th, as if to validate what they just said about the 6th... but 8 days later is not "on or around" a certain date. That's over a week!

I don't really care if they give us all our points on the 1st of the month, though... I just want to get them on the bill date. Then we know what to look for, and frankly, that makes sense. Depending on when your bill date is, the 1st could be far, far after then, which is not all that helpful for a rewards program in a game where you pay for game time.

interestingly enough, when I logged into my account on Weds. the 9th my points were there On my bill date. I'm in no rush for the token this time since have the Celestial set and the consumable stuff isn't a priority for me,

The thing is that it doesn't matter if your billing date is the first of the month or the last day of the month. You will still be paying for a month. The first of the month is an easily recognized break point. So much so that even Paragon Studios is giving out the server transfer on the first login after the beginning of the month. The server transfer token is the only consistently working VIP perk that everyone has received. Even the year tokens have been botched up.

Well, whether it's the only thing working reliably or not, I do not want to wait most of the month I paid for to get Paragon Points or a reward token. If I had to wait until the 1st of December for November's stuff (since my bill date is on the 6th, and I assume they're not going to let me get my points ahead of time), I'm not really liking the 1st idea.

All three should be given at the same time, and bill date is the best way of doing it. We can see it on our accounts, and it makes sense for the rewards system. I'm not even sure why there is such a tech issue with it, as NCSoft certainly has no issue with ending or starting your account EXACTLY 30 days, 60 days, etc., after you started it.

I know, because I often have to let my account lapse for a couple days or weeks, then restart it. The account always lapses at the same time I started it up, which is in the evening (when I play the game, and therefore restart the account). If they can be so precise with that, there is no reason the tech can't work for the rewards. I personally figure it's just not enough resources being allocated to the problem.

There is no difference between getting the perks on the first of every month and getting them every month on your billing day.

And that is exactly why I'm saying the first day of the month would be best. You don't know. I don't know. However I do know that the character transfer token is working.

The problem is that the Billing Group is likely not a direct part of Paragon Studios. They are, most likely, working directly for NCsoft.

I have two accounts, both VIP which haven't lapsed since Freedom launched, billing dates are the 21st and 28th, and according to my billing summary the last points I got from the VIP stipend were on October 12th, for both accounts.

So I'm pretty much completely confused by when I should be getting points. My understanding is that the initial Freedom announcement (when the VIP stipend was tallied from) was in June, meaning June/July/August/September points were already included? But points in October were either my September points late, or my October points early?

It's a little depressing that the only part of this whole thing that seems to be working flawlessly and transparently is the part where they take my money.

I got mine last night - my date is the fourth. So at least it's creeping closer than it was last month. Now if only they could synch up evrything to fall on the same date it would ease confusion and frustation. I let my six month bill plan lapse to one month because why give them the money early but not get the tokens early.
