If you can get red-side, you can run the Mortimer Kal SF and convert the Flames of Prometheus award to a Notice on reaching 50 (you go the Accomplishment Badge to convert it I believe).

That hr/level estimate was without Double XP. But it's about as boring as playing CoH can get, so now that you're at 40+ I'd advise moving on to doing Tina MacIntyre's arc to get the credit towards Portal Jockey. If you're into Rikti I like the "Division: Line" arc from Angus McQueen in the 40-45 range too.

Quote:The keys with the L1 farms are: (1) L1 foes give better XP, (2) at L1 all ATs are pretty much the same in terms of AT Mods and (3) the foes are weak and pose little threat. This allows the method to be used by pretty much any character. It's not great XP like a +4x8 SS/Fire Brute farm, but it's not bad. Just boring as can be.Yep. XP is the same no matter what level you exemp to now thanks to Supersidekicking, people like level 1 missions because you get a bit more defeats/minute. But as an mm you only get 1 minion pet so you're still gimped.
For a test I put a comparable build to the one above on my Beast/Nature MM (I took the pet and buff rather than Hasten and Boxing since I have all three VR attacks) and was able to clear my farm on the Troll Cave map set at 0x2yy in 27:34, garnering 3.77 bars in that time. Add in a minute to cycle the mission and round up to 29 min and that's a projection of going from L44 to 45 in 1:13. I think I probably would have done a touch better on x1 and not clearing the last two areas at the back in terms of XP/min.
To me the improved rate of XP gain doing this rather than playing simply isn't good enough to justify the grind unless I really can't think of anything better to do. -
I'm leveling a Beast/Nature MM (L44 atm), so I know what you're talking about. MMs just don't scale well for farming, and I find them alternately boring or exasperating to solo where there's often just no difficulty level sweet spot (I managed to get one at +1x4 in the late 30s/early 40s that helped me get into playing mine).
One thing I considered, but haven't done, is using a level 1 Boss farm (my own version of this is called Magic Burrito). The AT mods do not do much at level 1 so the MM attacks are sound at that level. You can use your second build to make a farm-only version of your char that does pretty well at level 1. Don't bother with IOs, since Ex murders even L10 Quads at level 1. [Edit: If you're going to respec later on you can go ahead and slot whatever procs you intend to use.] Over-slot for Damage since the Ex will knock your SOs down to about 7-8%. Make sure you take Dark Blast and Gloom and slot those two and Brawl completely. Go ahead and level up the second build for slots and do something like this...

Note that this is very dedicated to playing at level 1 and so power picks after 6 are irrelevant. I've maxed out damage output at level 1 using Tar Patch and Hasten as the extra powers (and over-slotted them knowing even 6 +3 SOs will get knocked down to 50% enhancement before the ED cap is applied). You may be better off with Zombie Horde and Enchant Undead, but I expect the single slow moving Zombie will just hold you back, so I skipped them. [Edit:] It may be better to take Boxing than Tar Patch.
It will probably take you about 1 hr/lvl (give or take) to farm yourself up this way. Note that XP boosters work in AE (but Patrol XP doesn't). So f you do have boosters or enough Paragon Points to buy some, then that could help.
Personally, I find this sort of farming too tedious and haven't used it for my MM (I usually only farm for Tickets or Shards), but I have used it since the announcement for a number of new chars. I built that farm specifically to replace red-side DFBs as those were hard to find. It gives rewards rates (XP+Tickets) that aren't too far short of DFB and there's no need for teammates or waiting around. It was only intended as a way to get villains to 8 when I'd go to PO for the Mayhem and then again to 12 after that to get to DOs. But since the announcement I've used it to finish off levels, and even to get one char from 1 to 22 for SOs (that took about 2-1/2 hrs). I've never used a second build tailored to it beyond L12 but in principle it should help considerably. If you have VR attacks that helps a lot too. You can up the diff in my farm to get extra critters, something that most Boss farms don't do (it starts with 1 Boss/1 Min and at x2 you get an extra Min in each spawn, I haven't checked what it does above x2). However, that extra Minion may be a drawback for some. With VRs I can one-shot it with Blackwand/Nemesis Staff, so it's just free XP/Tickets/Inspirations to me.
Anyway, I'm not a dedicated farmer, so I usually just play arcs I like (using flashback if I have to - I just did Sister Psyche on my MM project that way) and avoid standing around waiting for something to happen and I do OK with XP that way.
I'm on Guardian most of the time (less these days as my #2/3 projects are on Pinn/Just respectively) so feel free to send me a tell (@Calorie) if you want to team up. -
NCSoft wrote the resignation letter, not Garriott. When Garriott refused to sign and accept it as his own, that meant it could not be legally attributed to him. NCSoft did so anyway (it was their first line of attack in the court case). That's one of the primary definitions of forgery: To write a document to pass off as being authored by another.

Quote:Oddly, you seem to be agreeing with me in the particulars while insulting me with the initial comment.Bullspit. If they REALLY wanted to sell...they'd still be tabling offers. Which brings me to this.....there's been NOTHING out there about other game companies making offers for the CoX ip. Nothing. NDA usually mean you can't talk about what went on in the meetings, but not that "hey, we're attending." can't be announced. Nobody's announced it. At all. Isn't THAT curious?
End of the day? I'm STILL never going to purchase another NCSoft product....or recommend one to anybody I know. I suggest we all do the same.
As for the NDAs - much of the time they do indeed include being unable to say you're negotiating. Especially with publicly traded companies. -
Not precisely true; they may also have had a deadline as to when they were going to stop considering offers. It's possible no hard offer came in by their deadline. However, that amounts to placing a high value on their time and sends an even worse "you're not worth our time and effort" message than placing a high value on their assets. So to me assuming they overpriced the IP/accounts/etc is the charitable estimation.

Quote:Are you bumping it? Tickets are closed after 3 days of inactivity, and with the amount of support traffic they are undoubtedly getting, I suspect any ticket bumped up from Tier 1 support could have more than a 3 day wait before anyone even looks at it.Yeah, I was unpleasantly surprised when they closed this loophole. It would have been much nicer had they left it.
CoH is rather pointless at the moment for me, as basically all my characters use something VIP and are locked even if I would unlock the slot. Rogues, Vigilantes, MasterMinds, Widows, VIP powersets, etc...
I haven't heard anything on my support request, except an acknowledgement that they received it. -
Quote:Update the support request saying that the automated response doesn't actually answer your question. They'll then most likely elevate it to the next level of support. Be aware that support tickets close automatically after 3 days if you don't keep pestering them. This has been the response to me petitioning NCSoft Support through their Support submission thing:
The link fails to answer my question of what happens to those of us that bought points BEFORE August 24th, and provides no way of getting in touch with the company to get an answer. There's bad customer service, and then there's this.
Don't think NCSoft is getting another red cent of mine ever again. Because they still owe me $42.50. And before you ask, that's AFTER I removed all the stipends and remaining other points from other purchases, and just assumed that everything I bought since late May, 2012 was with the 8000 (9600 after bonus points) points I'd bought.
(Also, 3600 pts is actually $45 worth.) -
Civilians pushing me around, especially in bank maps.

I believe they stopped working on the 19th. I suspect NCSoft invalidated all unused codes at the same time they reset VIP status and established their refund policy. Perhaps they will grant VIP status once they've dealt with the refunds and no longer need to worry about complicating the matter, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Quote:I just recieved a copy of Going Rogue Complete Edition that I ordered from Amazon. Whenever I try redeeming the code it tells me "This serial code has expired." I can't use it to upgrade any account or to start a new one.
I believe the response for an already claimed serial is "This code has already been used."Quote:I have the same problem. I just got Good vs. Evil Combined Edition from Amazon.co.uk today, and it says that "This serial code has expired."
It was a new game nicely shrinkwrapped, with a fresh "Game activation card", I had to scratch the black paint to reveal the code.
If you guys would open support tickets and report back that would be a big help to others hoping to restore VIP status. -
I think the GR box and digital codes are for the same thing and can't be combined. However, I believe the GR: Complete Collection boxed code would still work.

Quote:You can spend your points. My bad luck story: broke hand beginning of August so let sub-lapse on 26th August as I could not use a mouse. Had no idea CoH was closing until trying to re-sub in September... if I've got this right I missed perma-VIP by 5 days?
Now I have only 1 spare global slot and 40 characters to choose from along with 1800 points. I'd like to use more of my chars, but I also want to use my IOs so need to buy that licence.
So is there anyway of getting VIP status back on the cards? For premiums or those willing to spend points/cash? Or do I have to work out the best IO/global slot combo with my points? Can I even spend points?
You can also restore VIP status with a code from an edition that is not already on the account by buying a boxed set. Some have said Time Cards will work, but none of the people I know who've tried that have had any success. -
Quote:I'd wait for the boxed sets to start showing up, but unlocking the Alignment System should unlock those characters. I have an account that dropped to Premium Aug 13th that has a GR:CC code on it - and therefore the Alignment System - and my Rogues are playable on that account. In the mean time most of my characters are locked, as nearly all are Rogues. (Everything over level 20).
I'm wondering if spending 1200 points on unlocking Going Rogue would allow me to enable them or that I should wait for one of my boxes from Amazon to arrive. I probably would need an invention licence and some other stuff, like the SSA, as well. -
If you mean the Widow helmets...
Those from the pre-order CoV boxed set or Tier 6 Rewards choice can only be worn by Female body types and are under Special Helmets in the Head category.
Those in the Arachnos Widow class special costume slot can be worn by any body type (Male, Female, Huge) and can be selected in the top choice as "Widow & Helm". -
Wait... didn't the Kardashians make you sign an NDA?

I'd love to have a Panacea (lot 19 or 20) for my Nature MM.
Thanks,
@Calorie
P.S. Btw, I have the name Organica on Beta if you want it for any reason. -
Quote:I had that happen with just one server (Pinnacle) in the past. However, I was at 0/16 on server slots used, so I was just able to click and unlock them all one at a time. It was a pain, and a waste of about 15 minutes as I waited for the unlocks to confirm, but that was all. Hopefully it's the same for you. That is the one I added and I already had gr. My account is now VIP in the game but my characters are still locked as if it is a free account. It looks like customer service is only open a half day a week now so I sent a /petition, don't know if that will do any good. I am glad my main is an incarnate again.

It was indeed a composite. I showed up in some of the head on shots, but was left out in the composite they used. As many of the people who were flying were.

That appears to be the screenshot used for the 5th Anniversary promo material. If so it was taken on the Test Server in AP in the late afternoon (Pacific) April 23rd, 2009. Not sure if that helps any.

I received a Transfer Token on the 1st. I'm not sure, but I think the award system for that will give them to all VIP accounts each month. (We may also get our Reward Tokens, but don't seem to get the VIP points stipend). Other than that I don't think there is a way to acquire a new Transfer Token. If you aren't VIP applying a code for a version of the game that has not already been applied will reactivate it. That is, if you don't have Going Rogue on your account you could get a copy from Amazon or eBay or wherever and apply that.
-
If I could import my NCSoft chars, absolutely. If not... probably; though having something in place of the market to provide ready access to the IOs I'd want would be a must.
-
Probably, he's a contact added specifically to give soloers a way to earn Empyrean Merits. All the contacts and missions in DA are VIP-only.
