Where is the outrage? Buying Vet Rewards
*comes put with pom-pom's*
RAWR! Hate! Rage! *threats of quitting*
Ok I'm done...phew that took alot outta me...
On a serious note I know what you mean, w/e though I get my vet rewards I wanted now.
To busy putting my outrage in the other thread sorry
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
Nerdrage is a T9 vet reward power, so it's been cycled out of this thread for a while.

So now that this has actually come to past, where is the outrage. So it is heresy for a guy to suggest something like this, but when it is actually implemented everyone is all alright with it? Where is the hate threads?

But this isn't anything new. People have expressed outrage over merging the markets, giving squishies mez protection, and buffing Fiery Aura. In the end all of those got implemented and the people who nerdraged over them either dealt with it or moved on.
If I had a dollar for every idea that people raged about, but suspiciously had no problem with once it was actually implemented, I would have....about 23 bucks.
Anyway, the point is ignore trolls. You believe in something, continue to fight for it.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
Hey mad cow I know just how you feel..
Right before my last break from coh I was on the forums suggesting inherent fitness to open up build possibilities and cut down on the number of 'have to do's'.
I thought everyone would love the idea... My theory is that people that don't have ideas, don't want other people to have them either.. Everyone is crazy.
So now that this has actually come to pass, where is the outrage. |
Some made their displeasure known. Not that there was much of any chance of changing their plans at that point.
However, this is with a new business model being put in place so some of the old practices went out the window. When you suggested it, it didn't fit into the then current business model.
I'm not saying that I feel it fits now, but it does fit more with the new model than the old model.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
One of the first few threads I made when I joined the forums was asking for some system to 1. Give CoH more money, 2. Give the new guys a chance of getting the 7 (6 then) years of rewards reducing the hopelessness they would feel with iconic costume parts seemingly totally out of reach.
To say the least I got totally POUNCED and FLAMED, maybe even Nuked from orbit. So now that this has actually come to past, where is the outrage. "It's come to pass," not "come to past."
HOW COULD YOU!!!! (RAGE!!!!!)
Other than that I agree that there was a need for folks to catch up reward wise.
Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind
OMG!! Please add these costume designs now!
The veteran awards were nice but personallly I am not offended and don't have to be "special" for having 7 year awards. If they can make some money frm it more power to them! I believe in a free market and capitalism!
I just laugh at a lot of the folks who play this game.
They do not make consistent logic, this morning the servers going down for another 4.5 hours the players were like anything it takes to get it fixed before it goes live!
Hello, McFly it IS LIVE - you are delivering the unstable, lag infested bugged game to PAYING customers. Yes, we ARE Beta testing the game for them and paying for the priviledge to do so.

Even though I always had the latest Vet awards I always thought the system was unintentionally geared to screw over newer players. I never liked the fact that no matter what a newer player did they were never going to be able to have as many badges as me, even if they were technically better at playing the game than I was. The Vet award system should have never been associated with badges at all.
So no I'm not really "outraged" that people can now basically buy Vet awards. It's more like I'm kind of saddened by the fact that the system had to be given that capability just to try to make it a more level playing field for everyone. A better system would have been fair to everyone WITHOUT having to force some newer people to pay huge chunks of money just to "catch up".
Being able to buy Vet awards isn't a bad thing in and of itself.
It's just a sign that the original system was fundamentally broken to begin with.

And just to let you know even when this game is technically "live" it's never 100% "finished". The idea that any game would ever be considered 100% bug free is a fancifully unrealistic notion to begin with.

1. The devs got rid of the old system entirely.
2. They let players keep everything they earned under the old system and gave them new stuff for free under the new system.
3. Maybe the players that supposedly "pounced" on you and "flamed" you are mature adults that don't feel the need to overreact and throw hissy-fits when the devs redesign the game.

By time the details of how the vet rewards were involved was out people had a better understanding of things.
If you can only look at what happened as a suggestion to buy vet rewards was implemented that's a misinterpretation on your part.
total kick to the gut

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

You do realize that we are technically playing with the HEADSTART of CoH:Freedom right? The Devs have never hid the fact that this is technically still a beta test period. How can you really be -that- mad at the Devs when they've basically openly admitted that CoH:Freedom has not officially "launched" yet?
And just to let you know even when this game is technically "live" it's never 100% "finished". The idea that any game would ever be considered 100% bug free is a fancifully unrealistic notion to begin with. |
You do realize this "head start" is not optional?
You do realize there is no way to play the original game without the "head start"?
You do realize it is LIVE. It is not a BETA TEST NOW. If it needs more testing put the damn game back to TEST and off LIVE. What a load of codswallop.
RRRRAAAAGGGGGGEEEEEE!!!!!!
Wait, what was the question again?
(And really, what do I care if a player drops $1500 into the game over seven years or seven days? It still pays NCSoft the same either way)
This thread does not deliver. Morbo demands more puny human tears.
I like the signature, but I was always a believer of this pie chart.
