jeebus, 12+ hours? thats one heck of a long maintenance lol
Another day of not being able to play this is now getting beyond a joke

Wow that really sucks for our EU friends. C'mon dev team they deserve a cookie for all the time they have lost because of this.

This is simply unacceptable for the EU players... What in the name of God's Green Corn are you guys NOT doing? Or doing? Or thinking about doing? Or trying to do, failing, and resetting and still not doing? You can find time to nerf AE rez-mobs, write code for MARTy, and GAIN time by simply flicking the switch on level-pacts for VIPs (since F2Ps and Premiums CAN'T play yet, and YOU said you'd wait...).
And to think I JUST reupped my sub through next year... damn.

We pay a sub to play this game, and although i know downtime comes with the territory.. but 10-12hr downtimes several days of the week? that is MESSED UP! we're basicly reaching the point where we're paying for downtime and getting up-time on the side..
either reimburse us or cut down the downtimes!!!!

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

22nd 12 hours from 9:30am to 9:30pm
While I understand the need for upgrades, this is getting silly.

However, if this round of maintenance actually fixes things then it's not such a problem as the upgrades are clearly needed.
I think a lot of people in the EU, myself included, are a bit miffed at losing out on so much play time as the maintenance is never scheduled in an EU friendly way. I know we just have to suck it up, but it still...sucks

Not that I'm actually going to moan about it, because I understand the necessity, but for us EU players, there have been a LOT of downtimes over our peak hours lately.

at least the american players arent getting affected by these downtimes as much as the rest of us.. 10am to 10pm for me (assuming they get it up on time which they NEVER EVER MANAGE)..
seriously though.. how can you expect to maintain a "Freebie" player-base if you're gonna keep this up? heck how're you even expecting to keep us VIP's around if you're gonna keep this up?
It's a disgrace and someone really needs to sort this crap out.. at least start giving us EU players a frekkin break and have the downtimes at other times every now and then.. we may not be as many EU players as there are NA players, but that's no reason to treat us like dirt under your shoes..
and honestly.. if this turns out to be "for server stability" i may actually snap.. because, honestly, every time you've done something "for server stability" things have gotten worse than before..
and i do mean what i wrote in the post earlier.. downtimes of this magnitude DESERVES REIMBURSEMENT! and i'm not just talking some crappy costume-code that 5/1000 players gets.. give us ALL something that's WORTH having all these downtimes.. DXP week or free PP's or -something-.... those costume codes are just a slap in the face to be honest.. a handful of people get something for what everyone is suffering for.. be better if you just laughed at us and be done with it..

Yes, it's necessary, yes, it's essential, but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck any less for people who want to play in the EU. I was hoping to use the early evening to run some missions with my friends, but that's not an option.

Folks, I know it's not a fun thing to read.
But, on the bright side, at least we know now, instead of finding out about it the hard way. Now, I can at least decide to go shopping tomorrow instead of today. I can run errands tomorrow instead of Friday.

Guys, I have this awesome idea.
Just buy extra cases. Have the guy who is doing beautiful nigh-photorealistic oil paintings of the loading screen on all the cases just paint on these extra cases, then swap the cases, it'll take fifteen minutes tops. Much better than having all the servers down while he paints.
... I assume that's what "necessary upgrades" means.

Server upgrades are like really yucky tasting medicine. It may suck going down, but when you're back up, you'll be glad you took it.
One thing I am ALWAYS pleased to see is a server upgrade announcement. Complaining about them is like asking to please be shot in the foot.
This is coming from a guy who has tomorrow off, and planned on playing.

The Live European and North American City of Heroes servers will be taken offline for necessary hardware upgrades on Thursday, September 22, 2011.
Start Time: 1:30 a.m. PDT / 4:30 a.m. EDT / 9:30 a.m. BST / 10:30 CEST
Expected Duration: 12 hours
Expected Finish Time:1:30 p.m. PDT / 4:30 p.m. EDT / 9:30 p.m. BST / 22:30 CEST
This maintenance is to preform necessary upgrades to the City of Heroes server infrastructure.
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience! There will be a UStream cast starting at 8:00am PDT (11am EDT; 4pm BST; 17:00 CEST), which will run until the servers are back up!
