Getting the servers ready for a huge influx of players? Sounds good to me. It takes as long as it takes to get it right. I'm ok with a long outage.

Sooooo, I dig what you're saying and everything. And I really and truly appreciate it.

But, and I'm just being a devil's advocate here...

You think that MAYBE, we, the VIP players, could get a bit of love? This work is scheduled so that, when the free folks arrive, their experience won't be impacted.

But, it is okay to impact the players who pay?

Just askin'...

There will still be maintenance when the free players arrive that will impact them just as much as the VIP players.

As I said, this maintenance is in preparation for the influx of players, however it will benefit the experience of everyone, Free, Premium and VIP.

Exactly.

Considering how much we've been buggered about lately, it's time they granted us some compensatory game time. Because, y'know, making people who PAY TO PLAY suffer so that the freeloading people due to turn up don't get a negative experience isn't the right way to go about things. The freeloaders can go stick their heads in a pig for all I care.

And no, in game rewards or events which just lag the servers into oblivion are not acceptable. I've lost game time I pay for, I want that back.

As previously mentioned, do you think it's good business sense to take things away from paying customers (some of which have spent hundreds or dollars on the Paragon store) so your (potential and not guaranteed) free customers have a great game to play?

My years of customer service experience lean towards the no side of that answer.

Okay they just upgraded. And some of the servers are QUITE slammed. They've probably determined the need for still-beefier hardware to handle the anticipated load.

And it's better they do it NOW than wait until F2P brings things to a nuclear powered screeching *** halt.

Mmm some bonus Paragon Points would be nice. I can understand them not refunding subscription moneys but tossing some extra PP into our accounts would be nice.

How often do you get money back from your power, ISP and/or cable company when you lose any of those services for a period of time?

While I think your reaction to this is perfectly understandable I think your request is not likely going to happen. At best we'll get some Paragon Points for this but actual money? Hardly...

All the time actually. I phone them up, make a fuss, and I get the lost time I've paid for, credited.

I'm not asking for actual money, I want TIME credited to my account. Time that I've paid for and lost because Paragon Studios don't seem to be able to get their stuff right.

You two must live in a different world from me. Then again it has probably been years since I've had any service like this down long enough to get spastic about it so maybe times have changed...

For argument's sake, let's say everyone pays $14.99/mo for access.

Let's also say for argument's sake there's been 24 hours worth of downtime over the last week.

So with my handy-dandy calculator, that would be $14.99 / 30 = ~$0.49 per day.

You're basically asking them to refund you 50 cents.

So a 50 cent refund + credit card/Pay Pal transactions fees x ~200,000 players equates to quite a bit. And I'm not sure how they would figure for people who pay with time cards. I suppose they could just add 1 day of play time to accounts (standard code rant withstanding).

But with the likelihood of the above vs getting some extra Paragon Points (or discounts in the store) I'd guess we're likely to see the latter as opposed to the former.

I'm with you on this. Unless it's something major like 2+ days without service, it's not worth my time or effort to sit on hold for 30min+ and deal with CSR for a $2 refund.

OMG!!!! seriously people your complaining cause there trying to make the game better. You sound like a bunch of old hens. Shut up! deal with it and down the road when your playing for hours upon hours straight remember when they took the time to make things right by doing maintenance on the servers. Do you think they are doing this on purpose to screw up your game time for the hell of it? Come on, get over it already, enjoy when you are playing and when your not . . . play XBOX.

I get so tired when people complain about the devs fixing crap, they are doing the best they can and if you don't like it go work at PARAGON STUDIOS and start making it right. DAM!!!
