Now able to log into forum.
Cannot log into game at all.

I changed my Account password a few times last night to no avail.
Changing the Game password today fixed it.
I can't check if that ****** my game login yet, but I'll verify that when
I get home this evening.

I know it was a flukey bug, but I'm kind of disgusted at how this has been handled. At least we have quality players like Evil Geko to figure out what's going on and find a cure.

Also OMG the logout bug is SO BAD right now!
Unfortunately, I can't use this workaround for my main account. I refuse to change the password, and I can't use the same one (it grandfathers some of the newer restrictions)...
The Grim Heaper's second account - because the forums no longer like my primary's password. >.>

- The team has its hands full, neck-deep in code for hotfixes, patches (and don't forget sleep deprivation).
- Meanwhile, Evil Geko finds a workaround for a forum bug.

I think "disgusted" is a strong word to use. Considering all of the changes, Issue 21 was a strong launch for an expansion/issue double-whammy.

Okay, can anyone figure out this problem for me?
I wasn't able to log on at all before but after changing my game account password, I could for a while. But now, the forums seem to have formed an anti-body to my connection. Everytime I log in, it goes to the logged-in screen that then redirects me to the previous page I was on. However, I'm logged out again when I do.
This is the case with my laptop from home connection, my phone and my phone tethered to my laptop. When I take my laptop somewhere else or connect my phone to wifi (other than home connection) or just use someone else's computer, it works fine. What did they do to the forums that *now* make me unable to connect with *my* means of connection?

People ingame are still complaining about not being able to login, personally the first thing i would have done is create a MoTD ingame or email every active account about this workaround while they fix this problem.
I think badly handled situation of i21 is perfect word usage. The actual content of i21 i love, the fact that i've barely been able to play the game due to DAILY primetime maintennance and not even post on the forums requesting for help i find is badly handled.
Plus to say that the team has its hands full in sorting out patches and alike is just making excuses to be honest, a lot of bugs that are being fixed right now were being reported in beta. Majority of people were expecting i21 to be launched either this week [which it did] or next week. If they had all these fixes in the pipeline, ONE extra week to save on so much downtime would not have hurt anybody.
Plus these server "upgrades" that had the servers down for two thursdays in a row were a joke, never experienced so many people experiencing lag and server problems in my life . . . . .

I agree with you that CR could have done a better job communicating. On launch day, I wanted to sing i21/Freedom's praises (on the forums). I'm sure the CR team realizes they missed out on some free advertising. But they probably don't maintain the forum software. For all I know, a third party outside of Paragon Studios could be responsible for the forum bug. The world may never know.
I haven't seen more hiccups than I expected (I expected more). Look, I subscribed to my first MMORPG in November, 1997. Speaking from experience, I can say that this was a refreshingly smooth launch for an expansion. As usual, Paragon Studios does things better. Not perfect. But better.

You missed the part where OCR said it would be fixed eventually, and I and others asked them several times whether or not we should be resetting our passwords ala the Evil Geko method. You didn't see this, because I had to do it off the forums.
The forums are the chief form of communication between us and the devs and OCR. When they go down, our link to tPtB is gone. At the very least, a mass e-mail saying, "Sit tight" would have sufficed.

My main point was that a HUGE bag of awesome stuff just landed in our laps with Freedom and Issue 21. It took months of work to introduce oodles of new systems and services. But I'm not going to start condescending to people, throwing words like "disgusted" at them just because their forum software had a hiccup in the middle of all this stuff they just gave us. That looked petty, and it's what motivated my comment. Calling you out on it "in public" probably wasn't very friendly or mature of me, sorry. (<--- Next-day hindsight.

I, too, was locked out of the Forums once the VIP Headstart commenced.
I saw the workaround, but I was at work. Then I saw the warnings that folks had unlocked their Forum access, only to discover that they were now locked out of the game itself.
I concluded it would be better to have the game bird in the hand, than try for the forum bird in the bush as well. Today, the Forums unlocked again, so now I return.
My thanks to those that posted the warnings. I hope your game access issues also cleared up.

As of this morning i couldn't log into the forums with any of my accounts. Again.
Changing my game account password to what it already was fixed it. Again.
i keep on clicking the "Remember me" button on the login screen even though it appears to actually do nothing now. Before the whole Freedom theme was added to the forums whenever i went to the forums after starting up my PC i would generally be logged in even if the odds were pretty good that i would have to log in again in the next couple of hours. Ever since the last round of forum tweaks i have had to log into the forums every single time.
Having to reset the password yet again was a bonus.

I assumed I couldn't log in because they were moving the account server for the game or something, since no-one at all seemed to be posting anything for a good chunk of today.
