Thanks for posting this EG, I wasn't awake quite as early as you were this morning it seems

We're hoping to have this addressed at some point either later this week or next week. For now, unfortunately, the work around will have to suffice 
.
And for those who will ask: The reason it will take "so long" to correct is that this is a database + code issue (which is why the work around works: when you change your password, even to the same password, it updates the format the password is communicated in back and forth between authorization servers) which as many know, code = time.

I'm going to jinx myself but I haven't been logged out since I had to use EvilGeko's brilliant plan to regain forum access.
Has anyone been logged out since they had to change their password?
Though it took a few minutes, it worked. Thank you for tthe tip EG.

Oh yay I'm back. Thanks for the tip!
My problem is I can't login, or stay logged in is a better description, while using my ISP's web accelerator proxy. I get the "welcome Father Xmas" message when I log in but when the forum comes up I'm still logged off.
This is really going to impact badly my rather tiny monthly data cap if I have to accelerator off.

Well i had the same issue.....did that work around and it worked.
Unlike what other people are doing.....i did my change via through the game itself....click on the store then account....log in and and can do it from there....

I bet people will stop complaining about the forum log out bug now, the forum log out and never let you back in bug is seemingly much worse.

The 'fix' did work for me also but I could not use my original P/W as it didn't meet the new security standards apparently.

Technically speaking for good security this game ought to be FORCING us to change our passwords every 2 or 3 months anyway. Maybe this "bug" is just a tricky way to get a bunch of us to update our old bad passwords.

Actually the forum logout bug has gotten markedly WORSE for me in all this >.<
Luckily, my new "changed" password is still getting me back in.
Just a warning, this "fix" takes nigh forever to work. I've been sitting here for a bloody hour and a half trying and trying again and it just finally worked.
