Really, guys? You already postponed DXP now you're interrupting it without giving us a reason? I can only assume it's some sort of emergency, but honestly... Not happy at all. I'd be happy if it was I21... but we all know it's not >.<

i do understand if the sever need to go down but this make the 2st time that devs done this today come on i never say anything about this but u not give no reason why u doing this i think it cause ppl fuss that they not get 2exp like they want to get or we get to much 2exp but the truth i think they need to give us other day of double exp for the 2 hour the sever been down today thank you

Seriously, what if they had told us why it was taken down? Does anyone actually think that would make it come up faster? "Oh hey we are shutting down the servers because of X. " What difference does it make if we know the why of it or not?

Being angry at them does not solve anything. BUT, a little bit of information from them , as to why this is happening, does.

I'll say it .... We don't have any right to complain or considering if they didn't go ahead and take us down for maintance and fix it we would be in there complaining something was wrong. They don't have to give us things like double xp but they do and if there is something wrong we should be saying thank you for fixing it not bad mouthing them for doing something right.

I don't care that the servers are down, I do care about the lack of respect towards players in giving us zero clue as to what the emergency is... if it's an exploit or bug fix, tell us that, you don't have to say what it is EXACTLY, but we are left in the dark right now.

If maintenance needs to be done it needs to be done, I'm not disputing that, it's the fact that we have no real way of knowing whether it was "necessary" since we have no official statement on what is actually being done.

Also sure, they don't have to do 2xp weekend but when they announce it I expect to be getting the most out of it, and today I haven't. Also if they didn't have such bad sub numbers they wouldn't need to rely on promotional things like free weeks and 2xp weekends to get people to keep playing, which is directly related to things like this.

Well, I guess I can mow the lawn during the down time. Boy the real world is work, while COH is fun.

Being angry is fine, but if they took the servers down to DETERMINE the problem, then maybe it will take 15-20 minutes before they can give you the reason. I am sure they will sooner or later, in the meantime kill an hour reading this thread. Both entertaining and full of rage!

I think that the amount of time it would take a community rep (whose job it is to give us the news) to let us know what the problem is, would definitely give us a lot of peace of mind in knowing it was a necessary pull. It doesn't even have to be a very descriptive description. I would settle for simple to understand basic descriptions of problems.

Plus if they told us what the problem was now, after the server was down, there would no risk of us using an exploit they were patching or what-not is there..

It just shows a lack of respect for the paying customer that the servers get brought down during the 2xp weekend with No Explanation. "Maintenance" is not an explanation. That happens every week during the early morning hours, not during prime play hours during an event! Add to it, that this is an even that has been rescheduled already due to Maintenance, and you get a fan base that is fairly upset, and I am not the only one. The whole team I was on is very upset. We were all actively cursing when the red-letter announcement came over the chat window.
Please sate our desire for an event to be un-marred by reschedules and maintenance.

Patience people. They may have had to address something quickly and wanted to minimize downtime so we can get back as fast as possible. I'd rather that than them wasting time explaining.

my biggest complaint is that they CHOSE to do open beta right before double xp weekend, in effect taking away a great deal of players from the game when we needed them most for teaming. this has been the DEADEST 2xp weekend ever! I definitely could have waited on open beta till AFTER 2xp weekend.

it used to be oh so easy to find a mission team or a TF forming but now its like pulling teeth to get a response to LFT. its enough to make me want to get PLed in AE (and not in PI where people are asking for exorbitant amount of money to join a farm) and I rarely PL my toons in regular play time.

and on top of it all you kill the servers TWICE for maintenance.

good job devs you have officially made me NOT want to play CoH this weekend.

Seriously, I was fussing to wife about it too, though she may have been fussing more. She thought God smote CoH so WE would get off for a bit. Don't be mad at us, I am sure He did it to her not me! LOL..... I am sure it is an emergency, and NO, we do not NEED to know if Positron forgot to put a squiggle instead of a line on the mini-skirt program turning it into a g-string. It will be repaired, your tempers will no longer be a factor, and if you choose to quit CoH/CoV over this, then it is just one less high strung overly sensitive person the rest of us have to deal with.
