I fully understand emergency downtimes, hell, I have to fix them at work! Also considering some of the crazy lag/bugs we are getting, I'm not surprised if its a Hardware issue.
Without the rage and snarkiness and "I wanna reward!!" mentality though, I think based on this being the 2nd one today, we could use a lil more info then they are giving.

Honestly I don't mind the short notice. I would rather they fix and emergency quickly before it causes cascading issues... but there is one point being addressed.
To those that update the boards and the site:
Could we get current information? Possibly, maybe?
There are many out of date pages on the official site. http://na.cityofheroes.com/en I understand energies are being concentrated on new and fun features but information is important. The known issues page is woefully out of date and I've seen it take 3+ days to get word on what was patched. I understand these things take time to get to but it would be helpful.

2x maintenance on 2XP weekend. The only logical compensation is to 2x 2XP for a 4XP weekend ExTrAvAgAnZa!!!

I'm fine with the downtime. Stuff happens. I would like an explanation of why it happened at some point, though.
Eh, so long as it doesn't happen tomorrow, I'm cool. I mean, giving us Monday at Double XP would be nice, but they've already given us an extra day to begin with. Hopefully this issue gets fixed quickly and without a fuss so people can get back to it.
I have no problem fixing bugs.. What I do have a problem with is 4 down times so far this week. I thought I was paying to PLAY the game and not wait 2 hours here 2 hours there an hour here another hour later etc.. This is crap. Making me rethink why I reinstated my accounts.
We should be comped in some way for this down time. To all of you who say have patience.. I had patience on tuesday, and thursday, and twice today. My patience is gone. 
I heard a rumor that the newly finished Moon Base is being added today.

I've had laggy chat, and a doozie of a time doing anything in my base. I bet this downtime is to fix that.

I'm just glad I got my mission done a some quick final exp to ding 32. This is obviously frustrating from the player base to have this happen twice already today. You can imagine the words that I said when I saw the infamous red letting go into global channels.

Something for ppl to use I would like to know why. In hopes that they are fixing the Team bug that when someone quits in the middle of a task force mission and you finish and exit you have to do it again, but if you log everyone out you do it once and it picks right back up. That is annoying. Or are they fixing the bug that keeps you from seeing teammates when they zone in, or is it the one in the bases, or even the one that is in ae with not being able to select a new mission without passing the star or reforming the team, or even the one with all the map server crashes that have been happening lately. I am sure the list can go on, but I agree with most here. I would like a reason if the post in game tells me to see the forums for said problem and their is nothing it is a bit aggravating. Oh well.

So my team literally had just killed the Thorn Tree when the servers went down. I'm pretty sure all we had to do was click on the tree to finish the trial. Is there any way to get credit for that?
twice in one day with zero information on why. Who made the servers?, Sony?
