It is for fire farming and these were the things I was asking about. I could switch to Mu easily enough, but I don't have any slots left for the AoEs in any of the epic pools. Hasten would be easy enough to switch out for something, but I can't fit in a whole lot of recharge without sacrificing the defense.
-
I'm trying to plan out my new SS/Fire brute, but I'm not sure how to build the thing. For this one I went for capped fire defense, but does that leave my damage and recharge too low? Feel free to point out any other dumb mistakes I might have made.

Since I did have level 41 pending and was expecting to respec anyway, I tried out Mace Mastery. It does not cause you to redraw a different mace. Though the way I worded my question, I think Redlynne may also be correct in that the mace is still different, that's my fault for asking the wrong question.
-
Trying to plan out my 41 Bane Spider for IO sets and such, but a few questions are holding me back.
1. Do the powers from Mace Mastery use the same mace as your normal attacks? I seem to remember it needing a different one once, but I could be wrong.
2. Do I only get Patron pools? MIDS tells me I can get a few others (I was considering Earth Mastery), but the normal epic pools aren't appearing for me.
3. I currently have the Gaussian Build Up proc in my TT: Leadership power, but I never notice it proccing. It's very possible that I just never notice it, but it's been in there for a while. Does it not proc in that? I thought such enhancements had a chance to go off every 10 seconds in a toggle power.
4. Finally, I could probably use some generic build advice. This build is messy, to say the least. I didn't take the ranged powers because they normally aren't that useful for me and the knockback bothers the few groups I join. I took several things I didn't really want early in the build because I couldn't fit things I did want in there yet. Skipped the pets and venom grenade because I didn't feel like I had room. I mostly play solo or duo with a Mind/Energy Dominator just doing whichever missions are convenient at the time, if that helps.

Very cool, thanks, I'll go with the Scrapper. This was a rather informative thread.
-
So Dark Melee/Shield sounds pretty awesome, I think that's what I'll go with. One last question, though. Scrappers are pretty similar to a Tanker, just with different numbers. Any thoughts on which of those I should choose? I like the idea of being more defensive and being able to tank for those rare occasions I'm not solo, but I don't know how large the damage gap is or whether it would be worth it.
-
I'd read it. I'd like to know how well it solos and how its damage output compares to other sets.
-
Yeah, I'm looking at the options, and there are a lot of them. Single target DPS is probably what I'd like to focus on, perhaps with some sort of healing. I could be interested in AoE, too, though, I can never make up my mind. Maybe a brief overview of different sets' highlights would be useful?
-
Are scrappers any good at playing solo? I tend to play alone a lot, and the Rad/Rad corruptor I have has a tendency to faceplant as soon as he fails to hold something (which is rather difficult for a corruptor).
-
So my team literally had just killed the Thorn Tree when the servers went down. I'm pretty sure all we had to do was click on the tree to finish the trial. Is there any way to get credit for that?
-
I have a Rad/Rad Corrupter and use the hold from the Elec APP to not die. In fact, if I don't use it I do die. A lot. You'd think something with 40% less chance to hit and 20% less damage would be pretty weak, but no, it'll still two shot you. I open with my debuffs, apply the first hold, and then pray I don't die long enough to apply a second. If I survive to the second hold it's a dead boss, done deal, but I frequently don't.
So long story short, no, the holds aren't useless, they're absolutely vital.
Or I suck, that's a distinct possibility. -
Very useful information, thanks.
Another question popped up, though the answer might be pretty obvious. I noticed my Summon Demon power is getting 62% to damage and also 62% to resist damage even though I only have damage enhancements in it (some of which are out of date and I'm working on replacing). Are the damage enhancements on that just split between the two stats? And how will that affect the hellfire gargoyle? I didn't think he got any resistance powers. -
All right then, thanks.
Edit: Wait, if you can't slot pets for recharge why is there recharge in Soulbound Allegiance? -
When you slot stuff like recharge or endurance reduction into a pet power, does that affect your pet's powers or just the recharge and endurance cost of the summoning power?
-
So if I want to buy any of it I should hold off until Freedom, then, is that right?
-
So according to the newish info, you can "Earn 1 Reward Token for every 1,200 Paragon Points (approximately $15) that you purchase through the Paragon Market."
Are the different booster packs and such in the Paragon Market? If so, will they count for points if I buy them now? I can buy Paragon points at least, right? That's not limited to the 400 monthly? -
The thread seems to have switched topics, but in response to the OP, you can actually check these numbers in game. When viewing power details, at the top of the window it'll say something like "POWER as used by level X ARCHETYPE". If you click the archetype you can just switch to defender and see the effects.
-
Wow, I guess I was way off. I've played the game a lot, but it's been sporadic and always solo or sometimes duo, so I don't know much about stuff like Archvillains other than they kick the **** out of me. I really want to make the push into Incarnate stuff and Strike Forces and such if I can, though, and when I read about the crazy debuff resistance I was pretty worried I'd be worthless. But I guess I'm instead really awesome, so that's good.
-
I've read that AVs reduce the effects of debuffs by 80% or something, does that make them mostly worthless? I was considering Rad/Rad, but if my debuffs go from awesome to terrible, I might consider something else instead.
-
Is there any sort of up to date Hero/Villain planner available? The one I used to use seems out of date.
