  1. From Wikipedia's article on soccer:

"The rules of association football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863 and the name association football was coined to distinguish the game from the other forms of football played at the time, specifically rugby football. The term soccer originated in England, first appearing in the 1880s as an Oxford "-er" abbreviation of the word "association".[6]

Within the English-speaking world, association football is usually called football (colloquially footy) or occasionally soccer in the United Kingdom, and mainly soccer in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. Other countries may use either or both terms, and may also have local names for the sport."

But I do so love the name "handegg".
  2. Yes, my first thought every time I fire up CoX is now "CROTCH!" But for some reason it makes me laugh. I agree with Infernus_Hades in that I wouldn't want to see, say, Sister Psyche or Ms. Liberty in this pose either. I've been keeping up somewhat with the general discussion of objectification in comics, though, so I think what makes me laugh is that this seems to be a bit of inadvertent "what's good for the goose..."

That or poor Statesman's complete lack of... endowment. Apparently the power of the Well has given us the ultimate object lesson on the danger of steroids...
  3. Congratulations, everyone! Especially to Mr. Believer. I was honored to have Comet Lady stand next to a real hero last night. The picture is fantastic! Thank you to everyone for such a great night, and I can't wait for next year.
  4. Already looking forward to next year!
  5. As far as I know, she simply decided to stop playing.
  6. I'm fine with the downtime. Stuff happens. I would like an explanation of why it happened at some point, though.
  7. Okay, I'll do that tonight. I'm @Arctisia.
  8. The "retrofuture" I've been assembling for my character is a blend of late 30s, 40s and very early 50s SF concepts, though date-wise it's several hundred years in the future. It's mostly a backstory/origin story and wouldn't have much bearing on her current life. (Believe it or not, the character was a spin-off from a costume I designed for the Golden Age Bash a couple months back for an entirely different character. The backstory came later!) I'll definitely tell my friend. Who should we look for to talk to?
  9. Question: I have a character from an alternate universe that's more "dieseltech" and atomic rockets than steampunk/steamtech/Victorian. She is, however, quite Golden Age. Would this hero group be a possible fit for her? She and a steamtech/Victorian friend are looking for like-minded individuals.
