I had this idea today. Basically the concept is similar to a Rikti Comm Officer, Illusionist or a Summoning Portal.
What is it? Its an enemy that spawns multiple copies of itself at the same difficulty of the original enemy.
Every enemy group has a chance to spawn a Doppleganger. This isn't one specific enemy, its not a fixed enemy, it is any and every enemy type.
Some tweaking would have to be done to the spawn tables. Enemy Groups such as Bosses and Elite bosses, as well as sappers, engineers, and other preexisting summoning types would be exempt. -
Quote:Thank you for the reply. I have the button assignments set. They just aren't working in City of Heroes. There is only one button I can set which is the middle click. In some applications you can specify the .exe and setpoint has never had that options but again its always worked in XP. It just isnt working in COH. I'm using the download from logitech for windows 7 which is 6.32.It depends on the version of SetPoint you have running.
I'm using 6.30.41, so I can set keys for CoH by going to the Advanced Settings tab on the left, and clicking on Configure. From there, I can click the Add... button and browse to cityofheroes.exe and then assign the buttons to do things while the game is running.
In older versions, that option is availble on the Button Settings tab, and shows up under the picture of your mouse when you click on buttons that can have special assignments. IIRC, it's any button except Left Click and Right Click. -
I just installed Windows 7. I am using a Logitech Marble Wheel Trackball with the Logitech Setpoint software for the device settings. In the settings there is a customization whereby a key can be set as one of the buttons. City of Heroes is unaffected by the key assignment but it worked in another game. It worked fine with COH in Windows XP. Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem?

I found a workaround:
Code:This will show all the titles as selectable. I know its a crappy workaround but you can set the health back to normal by changing the number or reloading a saved ui./Windowscale health 2.0

Does anyone know what happened to the Wrathful title in the game? One of my characters has it, but it is no longer an available title at the trainers.

I appreciate the posts all of you have contributed. What I seem to get out of it all is that theres no wrong path to a fire/kin AT. Most people use either Corr or Troller but overall its just a style you choose. Is that the correct interpretation?
-
Thank you for that bit of info. It seems like I should go with Corr instead of Troller. Any further input is appreciated.

A while back I made a Fire/Kin controller. It's been sitting on the back burner because basically I have too many characters to play all of them regularly.
I picked him up again this week. A friend of mine told me the AT that he sees using the combo the most are Defenders. I thought we discussed this and the best was trollers.
I asked around on diff servers, some people were downright rude and had no acceptable input, some had advice but the AT for it was varied in responses.
Now I have seen people in the game raving about Fire/Kin dps etc. I don't see it on my troller. So what is the majority consensus on the Fire/Kin AT? -
Is this the same as the Cosmetic Surgeon? I've never seen it referred to as the 'Ultra Tailor' before.

I'll keep my eyes on it. I wasn't the only one in the mission seeing the same results.
I was in SG and I was not using any boosters. No I didn't defeat anything outside of the missions.
Thanks for the info nonetheless. -
Everything. Over the course of an entire mission, Bosses, minions, Lieutenants; nothing netted more than 6 prestige per enemy over the course of 5 missions.
-
I was running Doc in RWZ missions at +1x4 and was only getting 6 prestige per enemy. I know it used to be a lot more than this. Was there a nerf or is there a mechanic I am not aware of?

I'm not getting anywhere in resolving this issue. If anyone is familiar with this issue and has a quickfix it would be appreciated. I'm assuming its either a problem with the graphics files, which a reinstall should have fixed, or a dependency of some sort. It might be the result of a custom path I honestly don't know. It appears on other systems just fine, I'm at a loss:

As a non-steam game.
I didn't even know about steam when I subsribed to COH, and it worked fine with the cohupdater. I was just unable to get it to launch in steam with the NCsoft launcher shortcut once they removed the coh updater. -
Thanks for the help guys. Its much appreciated.
Works just fine now:
"D:\Games\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe" /LaunchGame=CityOfHeroes
Needed the quotes separate from the switch. Steam omits those. This does allow for the use of the overlay as well! YAY -
Since they got rid of the cohupdater, I can't find a way to integrate COH into steam now. I've tried the desktop shortcut and it only opens the NCSoft launcher and the STEAMUI program wont recognize the game that way. Using the cityofheroes.exe brings up the message requiring the NCSoft launcher. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Login server is up.

Quote:I can relate. I bought Darkspore, its a very fun game but I cannot stay connected to the server more than 30 minutes and sometime not even 30 seconds. Yet I can run everything else flawlessly. Although its not CoH its equally as frustrating when I can't, nor can EA, find a cause for it.Very odd, I was stable without any issue. I'm sorry it was being a pain for you. -Inokis
Oh, the freeze/crash issue has been making me nuts for quite some time (not necessarily a bad thing in reality as I have been spending much more time there as a result...), but the mapserving is about 2 days old (and getting EXTREMELY old, extremely fast). -

Quote:Very odd, I was stable without any issue. I'm sorry it was being a pain for you. What seemed like a big deal 40 minutes ago, is really seeming less interesting by the moment. Double XP or not, I think I'm done for the day. Between the constant mapserving and freeze/crashing, I've pretty much had my fill of this for today.
But, by all means, please keep the discussion going as it is rather entertaining to see who actually makes sense, and who is barking mad (spoiler alert: that means most of you folks XD). -
Quote:I'd rather play my current characters than waste time on temporary characters. This is actually a genius marketing move. If you want to find out how popular the changes are that you're instituting, give people the chance to either play the new stuff in beta or stick around and keep playing the old stuff with bonus XP. If the new stuff wins, then you've made good changes.
